The king turned around immediately and saw the giant hobgoblin war wizard casting a spell behind the other goblins.
"It's Spider Web!" He read out the spell name while taking out a pair of soft leather gloves from the spell material bag and cast the spell with more precision and speed.
A suspended human hand appeared in front of the hobgoblin war mage. The hand was translucent. People who were familiar with the basic principles of the world would immediately understand that it was made up of a force field.
The king waved the leather glove in his hand, and the force field palm and the leather glove moved synchronously, slapping the earth elf war mage.
The spider web spell that was being cast failed immediately.
Wang waved his leather gloves and shouted to the ranger, "Shoot him! My spell doesn't cause any damage. I mean, there is no damage other than the slap! And it doesn't necessarily interfere with the casting of spells. I have a bunch of brothers who can complete the casting in this situation!"
The archer fired rapidly, but it seemed as if he hit an invisible barrier!
The cat man immediately shouted: "Protective arrow! This is definitely a protective arrow!"
The next moment, a fiery red ray shot out from Elizabeth's fingertips, piercing through the many goblins blocking the crowd and the goblin war wizard, and accurately hit it!
The scorching rays first ignited the cloth armor on the hobgoblin war mage's body - or to be more precise, the rags, and then carbonized the skin that the rays touched in an instant.
The battle mage opened his mouth and let out an inhuman scream, but was smacked in the face by Wang's fake hand, and the scream stopped abruptly.
Wang continued to swing his leather gloves, shouting, "One more!"
The second ray hit the Battle Mage directly on the head, carbonizing his eyes, nose, and mouth in a second.
The lifeless body fell backwards.
King: "This spell of mine can last for one minute. If another Hobgoblin Battle Mage appears, I can beat him up and disrupt his spellcasting!"
Elizabeth: "Why didn't you use it just now?"
"It's a habit to save spell slots." Wang answered loudly and frankly.
At this moment, the drow suddenly appeared behind the goblins. She held up the head of a bear goblin and shouted, "I have killed your leader! All the battle wizards should be dead too! There is no hope for you!"
The goblins turned around and saw that the drow was holding the head of their leader. They looked at each other and the next moment they screamed and started to flee.
The dwarf laughed like an evil villain: "Hahahahaha! That's right! That's it! Run away, you poor creature!"
Chapter 21: Routine Looting Time
Seeing the goblins retreat, a clumsy bugle call came from the kobolds. It was obvious that this creature wanted to learn how humans use bugles to convey orders, but failed to learn it successfully.
The ogre troops that had been blocked by the fire began to retreat like a tide and suddenly disappeared beyond the range of the flames.
Now, there were only the blazing flames, the evil creatures that were injured and fell to the ground and howled from time to time, and the piles of corpses. Nothing could indicate that a fierce battle had just taken place here.
Mark whistled, "Great! We killed at least 50 evil creatures, including many elite monsters! This is pretty good for a first adventure! I'm going to cut off the ears of the kobolds and goblins and make a fortune at the guild!"
As the warrior said this, he put away the flail, drew out the dagger at his side, and happily began to cut the goblin's ears. While cutting, he searched the goblin's tattered cloth armor to see if there was anything good inside.
Catman: "I want to retrieve some bows and arrows."
As she spoke, she began to inspect the corpses on the ground.
The dwarf knelt on the ground and began to pray. Although so much killing and death in a short period of time would inevitably produce undead creatures, the priest's prayers and salvation could effectively reduce the quality of the undead creatures that were born. Ghouls that would have been born would only produce skeletons after the prayer. (*)
The princess let out a long sigh: "Oh my God, I thought I was going to die."
Wang: "It's true that we almost died just now. If any link had gone wrong, I guess... the whole team might not have been wiped out. After all, our priest obviously held back and didn't use much magic. But there must have been heavy casualties. Even I'm sweating!"
The princess silently took out her handkerchief and wiped the oil off her hair.
King: "Don't worry, Your Highness. The oil of Grease is a summoned object of the Conjuration spell. It will disappear when the spell ends."
"Thank you, I just want a wipe, it's a spiritual need."
At this time, the drow elf came to the king and Elizabeth carrying the head of the bugbear.
"I've never seen a tribe of goblins led by bugbears." The drow threw his head to the ground and stomped on it. "Generally, bugbears don't mix with their own dirty and weak kin."
The princess suddenly asked, "Are you hurt?"
Zhuo Er hurriedly covered the large burn on his arm: "It's just a minor injury. I was scratched by the hobgoblin war wizard."
"That didn't feel like a rub!" Elizabeth said, raising her voice.
The dwarf finished his prayer and came over and said, "Let me see. I just finished treating Gotrek's injuries."
The drow frowned, but finally agreed to be examined by the dwarf priest.
After a moment, the dwarf concluded: "It's a moderate burn. If you want to avoid leaving scars, you have to use healing. I can't use such a high-level spell. First, I'll give you a cure for moderate wounds, and then apply a hot compress made from the decoction of black forest mushrooms."
Elizabeth: "I have a scroll of restoration at home that I can ask... the wizard to give it to you."
"Your Highness," Marika said, "the most urgent thing now is to get out of the sewer as soon as possible. These people are serious. They really want to destroy you in the sewer."
Elizabeth frowned. "No! The king just said that the mastermind mobilized such a large-scale army to kill us, which means we are on the right track! There must be a huge conspiracy behind the disappearance of cats and dogs! We must expose this conspiracy!"
Wang: "Actually, the correct thing to do is to report it to the lord. After all, the lord's precious daughter has been attacked and her head is covered in grease..."
Elizabeth raised her eyes and glared at the wizard fiercely, as if asking, "Whose fault do you say this is?"
The king didn't notice it at all, and continued to talk to himself: "And now the corpses of the enemies we defeated show that the enemy has an organized group of kobolds with kobold warlocks, and a goblin tribe that is huge enough to have hobgoblin war wizards and bugbears. With such a group of evil creatures underground, every lord will be restless."
Elizabeth: "Don't you want to continue investigating? Don't you want to find out the conspiracy behind it?"
"Of course I do," Wang answered decisively. "We won't stop investigating after reporting to the lord. We are going to the Goblin tribe to collect intelligence. Maybe we can find some clues left by the mastermind. Of course, we have to go to the Kobold tribe as well."
"No." Marika interrupted Wang with a serious face, "You all need to go to the ground now!"
Elizabeth: "Marika! As your master, I ask you to show some mercy!"
Marika sighed, "Your Highness, let me put it this way. I will search the dens of the kobolds and goblins and place all the evidence on the Lord Chancellor's desk."
Wang interrupted Marika, "No, no, no, you are a rogue, an excellent sneak attacker and scout, but I believe you are not as good as me at finding clues. You may miss key information!"
Zhuo'er's eyes widened, obviously she didn't expect to get such an evaluation.
The dwarf laughed happily. "An eighteen-year-old human dared to teach a drow who might be over 200 years old a lesson! This is even more refreshing than the scenery of the cliffs of Eight Peaks Mountain."
Zhuo Er's face turned pale: "I will be careful not to miss any key information."
"It will be too late when you notice it!" Wang waved his hand. "I have to go to the two tribes' settlements in person to see if there are any clues. I have to go in person."
Zhuo Er: "Then I'll take you there..."
"You can't protect anyone either, right?" Wang asked back.
Zhuo Er was silent for a few seconds before nodding: "Yes, I am not very good at this. If I take the mage with me alone, if we are ambushed, I am afraid the mage will lose his life. You have convinced me, mage, so let's go together."
Wang: "Okay, we have reached an agreement. Let's take a break and eat some bread."
Elizabeth covered her nose and looked at the stinky river next to her: "Are you sure you want to eat bread in this situation?"
King: "What else? And you see, the cat man and the warrior are all busy. The barbarian also needs time to rest. He has just been raging for so long."
"High!" said the barbarian.
Elizabeth looked helpless: "Okay."
But she immediately changed her mood: "By the way, what spell did you use to slap the Goblin Battle Mage just now? It looked so funny."
"Oh, this, it's called Bigby's Disruption Palm. It's the main method used in the Mage Tower to humiliate the loser in a spell duel. If you are disrupted by this spell and cannot complete the casting, you will be laughed at for a year."
Wang said as he waved the leather gloves in his hand.
Elizabeth's lips curled up: "I guess you must use this spell often when dueling."
"No, I don't use it often because I banned the School of Protection. So spell duels have always been a very challenging thing for me. I don't have the spare time to use this spell to humiliate the enemy."
"Then why are you preparing this spell?" Elizabeth asked puzzledly.
Wang: "Because I predicted this morning that we might encounter quite a lot of Kobold Battle Mages. Just because my fellow apprentices won't be disturbed by this spell doesn't mean that Kobold Battle Mages won't. After all, my fellow apprentices are well-trained."
Elizabeth wanted to continue asking questions, but Marika came over and stuffed a piece of bread into her hand.
"I don't want to eat." The girl frowned and said, "There are goblin corpses everywhere, a stinking ditch next to it, and a fire that is still burning behind it. How can you eat it?"
Wang: "Eat a little. Although spellcasters consume less physical energy, eating can make you happy and relaxed, which is beneficial for the adventure later."
Elizabeth took a small bite of the bread but immediately spat it out.
The drow handed over the canteen: "Have some water. You must have sweated a lot after running like this just now, Your Highness."
Elizabeth nodded, took the canteen and took a sip.
Dwarf: "What's so good about water? After a fierce battle, you should enjoy strong wine!"
After taking a big gulp, the dwarf said seriously, "Mage, I have been in many adventure teams, but this is the first time I have seen someone like you who can accurately identify spells in chaos. Your teacher has trained you very well, and he must be a top-notch mage.
"So who is he? When you talk about him, he seems to be very impressive."
The drow answered on behalf of the wizard: "His teacher, don't you like the fine wine of the Shire? His teacher is the wizard in "The Breeze of the Shire"."
"Carlisle Newman's horns! Really? I've heard those bard songs since I was a child!"
Wang sighed, "In the tower, listening to the old man - I mean, my teacher's bragging is already a normal thing. I didn't expect that after leaving the Mage Tower, there would be others bragging for him."
The dwarf blew his beard. "How can this be called bragging? Although the bard is definitely exaggerating, but... God, I need to drink more."
As he spoke, the dwarf unscrewed the wine jug again and took a sip.
Wang suddenly clapped his hands: "I understand! The teacher asked me to start my adventure from Langdon Territory just for this! He wants me to hear his legendary stories wherever I go!"
"I suddenly thought of something," Elizabeth drew attention to herself, "When your teacher started adventuring, Langdon County hadn't been established yet, right? I've never seen such an outstanding wizard come from our place in my family's historical records."
Wang: "That should be the case. After my teacher gained the ability to cross planes, he has been traveling in various planes. The speed of time flowing between planes is different. For this plane, his departure may have been hundreds of years ago."
"Hey!" Mark's voice suddenly came from the pile of goblin corpses next to him, "Look what I found."
He held up a goblin finger, which looked like it belonged to the big goblin war wizard under him: "Look, there is a ring on this finger!"
Wang: "Do you mind if I appraise the ring?"
Elizabeth: "This will take a long time, right? I remember my teacher said that identification requires one to two hours to study the object."
"No, I was merely attempting to identify the ring through physical, non-magical means."
Mark had come over and put his ringed finger into Wang's hand.
The king studied the ring carefully, then announced, "This is a counter ring. It stores a spell. Once someone casts this spell on the wearer of the ring, it will automatically be countered. After the counter, the stored spell will disappear.
"This ring is not very versatile, because there are so many spells that can be used to attack. The hobgoblin warmage who wore this ring could not escape the scorching ray."
Elizabeth: "What spells are stored in it?"
