Wang is invisible, and no one knows where he is or whether he was hit by the breath. Most importantly, because Fernie, the spellcaster who shares the protective barrier, cannot see him, he may not be covered by the barrier (*).
Because of Fernie's protective barrier, the strong acid dragon breath failed to penetrate everyone's defense.
The enemies standing between Erwin and the team were not so lucky. The dragon's breath attacking from behind hit the back of their heads, and they could see their scalps melting - literally their scalps were numb - revealing their white skulls.
Everyone fell to the ground and wailed. (*)
When the barbarians and dwarves saw this, they all roared and rushed towards Erwin's face.
However, Erwin shouted a series of short words, and a large mixed force of goblins and kobolds rushed in from the door they came in through, blocking the barbarians and dwarves.
Flint howled and tried to use his shield to clear a path, but there were too many goblins and kobolds pouring in, and even the dwarves couldn't push them away.
Not only that, he was pushed back, and the goblin and the kobold's small hands pulled his beard desperately.
"Don't pull my beard! My beard! Do you know how expensive beard oil is?"
Kellerman, the wanderer of the Duke's team, roared and used amazing skills to rush towards Erwin by stepping on the heads of the goblins and gnolls.
However, Erwin had already taken action: "Immobilize the human!"
Kellerman simply turned into a sculpture stepping on the goblin's head, striking a funny striding pose.
Erwin raised his hand and smashed the iron bar in his hand towards Kellerman - this was the casting tool for this spell. He obviously did not prepare more immobilized humans today.
In the chaos, Marika yelled, "Don't you understand? Come closer to me! Don't rush around! Come closer to me!"
Because the drow are not a race known for their loud voices, her shouts were drowned out by the chaotic and noisy surroundings.
Fernie stood in his original position and cast the spell calmly. He took out a small paper bag from the spell material bag. When the paper bag was torn open, some scale powder fell out. This was the spell material for the fire wall spell.
As Vernie chanted the spell, Erwin also chanted the spell and loosened the scepter in his hand, so that the scepter floated in the air beside him as if supported by something.
Erwin's vicious eyes under his hood stared at Elizabeth.
Seeing this, the dwarf threw the hammer in his hand at Erwin, but the hammer hit the activated mage armor.
Erwin is still casting spells!
Seeing this, the dwarf held the goblins back with his shield, and pulled his hand free to touch the holy emblem.
"Anti-death barrier!" As he shouted, he released all his strength and was pushed backwards by the goblins and kobolds.
He fell right at Elizabeth's feet, and his hand, which was glowing white, touched Elizabeth's shoes.
The princess was immediately covered in white light, and all spells with instant death effects became meaningless to her.
Irwin immediately changed his target and pointed his index finger at Fernie!
Upon seeing this, Fernie stopped casting spells and dodged to the side!
When Erwin finished his last word, a beam of green light still hit the wizard.
The wizard seemed to be stunned suddenly, and then his body fell weakly, with the expression on his face still frozen at the moment when the green light appeared.
At this time, Cassander also finished casting the spell and threw a piece of rotten meat at Erwin's feet: "Wall of Insects!"
Mosquitoes and flies swarmed out from nowhere, buzzing around within the area marked by the carrion, biting everyone who came within range.
Erwin spoke as he rushed through the text: "Fuck! That's why I hate druids!"
The next moment, he cast a spell and appeared a few meters away, leaving the range of the swarm.
Catman: "I didn't see any spells being cast!"
"It might be a trigger spell! The people who knew magic are dead and nowhere to be found!" Cassandra looked at Erwin who started to cast spells again and shouted to Marika, "Whatever you want to do, do it quickly!"
Marika glanced at the Wanderer who had been overwhelmed by the goblins, wiped the ring that the king had just given her, and recited the activation words.
Then all the people gathered around Marika, along with any goblins and kobolds who happened to be within range, disappeared in a flash of light.
**
A mass of people (and evil creatures) fell to the ground in the square.
The barbarian reacted quickly, got up and started to fight the ogres and goblins.
Upon seeing this, the morale of these little creatures immediately collapsed and they all scattered.
Marika helped Elizabeth to her feet and dusted her off.
"I'm sorry," Elizabeth whispered, "I can't cast a single spell. Without him around, I seem to have panicked..."
Marika: "You should thank the dwarf first. You saved your life. But I remember that the dwarf - Flint can only cast three-ring magic, right?"
Flint got up and said, "Yeah, so it was just an ordinary aid spell, but the visual effect was similar to the anti-death ward. Obviously, this Erwin is not familiar with the priest's magic. If it was our wizard, he would have seen through it."
When the term “Mage Brother” was mentioned, everyone fell silent.
Elizabeth covered her chest with her hands, grasping the skin near her collarbone. “Is he… okay?”
"He has the Nine-Ring Banshee's Howl." Marika comforted her.
Casander sighed, "There's no point in us worrying. I'm going back to the castle right away to inform the lord. You guys be careful."
With that, Cassander turned into a swallow and flew to the tower in the inner city. The afternoon sun shone on his beautiful feathers.
Marika and Michaela supported Elizabeth, who was already unsteady on her feet, on both sides.
Catman: "Don't worry, even if he dies, he will be resurrected. And he can also solve the crisis we are facing."
Elizabeth cried, "I know... I know..."
**
The Wanderers' Association, Don's office.
Negotiation Expert: "Sir, you didn't see through the invisibility spell?"
"Of course I do. But you see, he didn't tear up the Banshee's Howl scroll before his teammates teleported away, which means he knew that I have prepared a way to deal with the Banshee's Howl!" As he said this, Erwin took off his hood, revealing the ring on his forehead.
"This headband can make me immune to instant death effects! Your Banshee's Howl has no effect on me! Hahahaha!"
The next moment, the sound of tearing a scroll was heard.
A sharp whistling sound was heard, as if ten thousand evil spirits were rubbing their claws against a steel shield.
All the glassware and crockery in the room shattered instantly, with fragments flying everywhere like exploding grenades.
The negotiator's monocle was also broken, and the broken glass penetrated his eyeball, but this damage obviously could not cause bleeding from all his orifices.
Tang's important cadre and confidant fell to his knees on the ground, and a large mouthful of blood spurted out three meters away.
Erwin also fell to the ground, bleeding from all seven orifices. The scepter that had been floating beside him also fell to the ground. The light on the transparent tip of the scepter flashed and disappeared.
The whole room fell into silence.
It seemed that even most of the kobolds and goblins stuck in the tunnel were killed.
In the silence, footsteps were suddenly heard.
"It seems that you are not very skilled." someone said.
Greater invisibility will also hide his form in this situation.
"I was unsure if the Banshee's Wail could kill you because I noticed a strong magical aura on you. I didn't expect it to be just a headband that defends against instant death. You even reported it yourself. Logically speaking, you said this so proudly, so this should be your biggest trump card."
Someone had stepped on the broken glass and it was clear that someone had approached Erwin, who lay lifeless on the ground.
"Although the Banshee's Wail looks like an instant death spell, it is actually a sonic magic. My teacher believes that the audible scream is just something the magic creator thought should happen. The real lethality is the ultrasonic wave, which is inaudible. (*)"
The missing person picked up the scepter that fell beside Erwin, and the next moment the transparent dragon head on the head of the scepter emitted an extremely powerful light.
"Wow, this is awesome," the voice said. "It's actually a real artifact. Oh, oh, oh, oh, is this what my teacher talked about, the ecstasy of capturing awesome trophies? Oh, no, my face is cramping..."
The next moment, the man holding the staff appeared. He looked extremely hideous due to the cramps on his face.
It seems that even the advanced invisibility technique cannot hide his now complacent figure!
After finally controlling himself, he kicked the dead man on the ground and continued his sermon: "The ultrasound instantly destroyed your fragile organs, causing you to die suddenly, just like those glass.
"Of course you may not know what ultrasound is? After all, you probably haven't studied physics. My uncle said that if you learn math, physics and chemistry well, you won't be afraid to travel the world. This seems to be the consensus of wizards from a certain dimension. If someone uses the wish to revive you, you should study these carefully."
As he spoke, the new owner of the artifact took off the headband that Erwin had just boasted about, and then casually cast a magic detection item.
"Just two things." After the new owner of the staff confirmed that Erwin no longer had any magical aura, he confiscated his spell material bag.
Then he turned his head and looked at the other equipment illuminated by the magic. After making sure that there was nothing good, he walked over and collected the warhammer thrown by the dwarf into the dimensional bag, and then confiscated the material bag of the mage in Bruce's team.
After taking the material bag, Wang wanted to leave, but suddenly he raised his eyebrows, turned around, gently closed the eyes of the corpse, and threw the whole thing into the dimensional bag - after all, this was a friendly army, although he had only been a teammate for less than half a day.
Time is stopped inside the dimensional bag, so there is no need to worry about the body deteriorating. If the dimensional bag could not hold living things, he would have wanted to try putting Erwin inside and then taking him to some lava place to release him.
After collecting the wretch whose corpses were in terrible condition, Wang heard a voice coming from the tunnel leading to the guild. It seemed that someone who could make a decision in the guild finally mustered up the courage to come here.
So he held up the artifact and spoke loudly the kobold language that the artifact had given him.
Immediately, several dog-headed men came in trembling.
Wang: "Fuck, is this all that's left?"
When they saw the blazing light on top of the artifact, all the Kobolds knelt on the ground and shouted, "New Dragon God Messenger!"
Just at this moment, a group of wanderers from the guild rushed into the room.
Wang immediately took out an advanced invisibility potion and drank it.

(*) This chapter is a battle chapter, so there is a lot of explanation, and the author's words cannot be put in. So I put it at the end of the chapter.
Regarding the fact that the caster cannot see his teammates, his teammates cannot benefit from the buffs he casts. This is the rule, but it is actually quite flexible in group play. In CRPG games, it is even simpler. By default, stealth and invisibility are invalid for teammates, so they can benefit from any buffs.
When playing a group, it all depends on how good your relationship is with the DM. Obviously the protagonist got it here, but Elizabeth thought she didn't.
In addition, when casting the common protective energy, you have to specify what to protect. The wizard Fernie is experienced and can make the judgment here.
Furthermore, the protective energy cannot actually completely offset the damage of a dragon's breath, but here it is treated as a full offset.
After the acid sprays on the guild's wanderers, they should continue to fight if they are not dead in the game, but here it is set that the severe pain caused by the acid corrosion deprives them of their combat effectiveness. This seems more reasonable.
In short, you just need to understand that the protagonist of the story is a mage, so the spells get a buff.
Finally, there is Banshee's Wail. In fact, whether the anti-death effect can prevent Banshee's Wail is really a stretch. It is estimated that it will take half a day to fight. This is described in this way in the book mainly because Banshee's Wail is a spell with strong immunity, so I made some creative ideas for it. When readers run a group by themselves, please ask the DM if you can play it this way.
Finally, here is a point I thought of temporarily. In this book, the scrolls are effective after being torn, but they need to pass an identification of using magic items, so only the protagonist, the king, and other characters who have been trained as system casters can tear them. The princess is so naive that she cannot tear the scrolls.
When playing in a group in DND, you need to read the scroll to use it, but in this book, you don't need to read it, just tear it to make it effective. This is to make the action of tearing the scroll different from regular spellcasting.
