Chapter 3 Learn

"Junior brother, are you also interested in the Red King civilization?" Kavi naturally did not miss the change in Harold's expression.

Harold nodded. "I have always been curious about this 'first god known as wisdom'. He is called a sinner by the people of the rain forest and a rebel by the people of the desert. There are many contradictions in the stories about him in history. In Xumi, nothing makes scholars more excited than to unravel the mystery by themselves."

"The mechanisms and ancient buildings he left behind are simply ingenious. I was deeply shocked when I first came into contact with the relevant knowledge," Kawi said with emotion. "After I came to my senses, I borrowed several books that recorded the Red King civilization from Elhaisen. In order to understand more information, I even mastered the ancient characters that I was not interested in before."

"He was once the ruler of Xumi, but now he is called the 'Foolish King of Yellow Sand'. The people of the rain forest say that the Demon Scale Disease and the Death Realm were both brought by the Scarlet King. I have a feeling that this will be a topic that is very worth studying," said Haroldt.

"Contradiction itself means complexity," Kavi agreed, "and this is a topic that many conservative scholars are reluctant to touch. Since you are also interested in the Scarlet King, do you want to join my society? But I haven't even thought of a name for the society yet, so I can only let you join it first."

"Can I?" Now it was Harold's turn to be surprised. With his current qualifications, there was no way he could conduct research with a scholar of Kavi's level.

It would be more appropriate for Kavi to be his mentor.

"It's just joining a society, it shouldn't waste much of your time... No, what I mean is, as a freshman in the Academy of Ordinances, you should of course spend more time on the courses of the Life Theory School, and you can consider the society's matters later..." Kavi felt that the words he blurted out were somewhat contradictory, so he simply shut up and touched his curled hair awkwardly.

To be fair, he had a good impression of this (polite) and (handsome) junior in front of him, and his ideals were enough to support him in joining his society, but as a freshman in the Academy of the Order, shouldn't Harold have more important things to do?

Kavi didn't think at all that Harold felt that he was not capable enough to join the society. He felt that it was because he had rashly invited Harold to join his society without considering Harold's busy studies that made Harold hesitate. Thinking about it carefully, his invitation was indeed too arbitrary.

What if Harold was too embarrassed to refuse the invitation out of consideration for his feelings and thus fell behind in the lifeist school?

A trace of guilt rose in Kavi's heart.

"No, no, no, I have plenty of time, too much time!" Harold excitedly grabbed Kavi's hand, "I'm just so happy that I have the opportunity to join the same society with Senior Kavi to study the Red King civilization. I'm so happy. If my mentor knew about this, he would definitely be proud of me."

Although in Xumi, societies are very common organizations, probably more common than university clubs, there is no scholar who has not joined seven or eight societies before graduation.

The threshold of the society is not high. As long as scholars who want to study the same topic submit a personnel application form and research content, they can establish a society. Scholars from different colleges and even Xumi people outside the Institute of Teachings can join the society.

But that was Kawi's society! They were studying the Red King! The DNA of the Academic King of the Curl was activated!

The villain in his heart rolled his eyes in excitement, but his face still maintained the expression that a normal person should have. Haroldt even held Kavi's hand with a little more force.

Harold's excitement was totally beyond Kavi's expectation. But when he heard that he was willing to join, Kavi was very happy. However, he still put on the dignity of a senior and patted Harold's hands that were tightly grasping his, and said, "Don't get excited yet, junior brother. I haven't even thought of a name for the society yet, and the personnel... are also tentative, but I promise you that there will be at least three people."

After Kawi finished speaking, he added, fearing that Harold might misunderstand him, "There are at least three of us, including us."

"Just say that he is a senior and can get someone else," said Harold.

"Hey! I've been so roundabout... why are you——" Kavi covered his face. Why don't you give me any face? Are you still my polite and cute junior?

"Senior, do you want to shake the El Haisen?" Harold continued to ask.

"How do you know?! No, you know El Haisen?" Kavi was shocked.

"Senior just mentioned him. Isn't he your good friend?" Haroldt said.

"Really?" Kavi held his chin and pretended to think, "Eh...did I really mention his name? Why don't I remember it?...But we do have a good relationship."

"In fact, seniors should be more worried about whether people who want to join the senior society will trample down the door of their homes after the application form is submitted."

"No way. Research involving the Red King has always been unpopular. The mere fact that one has to learn the ancient Sumeru script will discourage many people," Kavi vowed.

"The senior has no idea how much influence he has..."

And even if someone who doesn't want to learn ancient Sumeru script wants to apply to join, Ikavi won't refuse given his personality, right?

Harold muttered to himself. He could already imagine the grand occasion after the society was established. He estimated that the frequency of quarrels between Kavi and Elhaisen would increase sharply.

After a few more words, both of them had a deeper understanding of each other, and the more they talked, the more they felt that they had a good relationship. Kavi also learned that Harold was not a Sumerian, but a foreign scholar discovered by the mentor of the Bio-theory School of the Institute of the Church. Harold received a good enlightenment education abroad, and the mentor of the Bio-theory School was very optimistic about him.

After knowing this, Kavi was even more optimistic about this junior fellow student. He patted his chest and assured Harold that if Harold didn't want to stay in the Shenglun Sect anymore, he could come to him at any time, and he would definitely find ways to recruit Harold to the Miaolun Sect.

Then Kavi began to introduce Harold to the opening ceremony of the College of Religious Orders. Every year on the day when new students report, the College of Religious Orders will gather new students to listen to lectures by representatives of previous students.

"I will go to listen to Senior Kawi's speech and I will applaud very hard," said Haroldt.

Having his secret thoughts exposed at once, Kavi simply stopped hiding them and proudly conveyed the message to Harold, "Yes, that's right, I am the representative of the outstanding students of the Myo-ron School," and "You, senior Kavi, are very strong."

Harold was very respectful and showed his support, which made the young genius of the Miaolun School so happy that he almost became sworn brothers with him on the spot.

Seeing that time was almost up, Harold said goodbye to Kavi and left him his address.

After filling out the sign-in sheet at the Ordination Hall, Harold followed a group of new students to a hall in the Ordination Hall. Just like the opening ceremony of the school in his previous life, several scholars who looked quite experienced gave speeches first, and then the new scholars warmly applauded to welcome the outstanding student representatives from each college.

The student representatives stood in a row on the stage and took turns speaking. Because they were far away, Haroldt couldn't see their faces clearly, but he could still recognize Kavi and Elhaisen based on their hairstyle and hair color.

Kavi's speech was the most inspiring. It was obvious that he had made sufficient preparations the night before. The students in the audience were completely moved by his words. As soon as Kavi's speech ended, the audience burst into warm applause, and some students even began to whisper to each other to inquire about the personal information of this senior.

As he had promised, Harold clapped his hands hard until they turned red, but his own voice was completely drowned out by the applause.

As Kavi walked off the stage, his eyes flickered as he swept over everyone. Harold took off his hat, revealing his conspicuous silver hair. Kavi waved in that direction and walked to the backstage with satisfaction.

After Kavi, it was Elhaisen's turn to speak. He spoke without emotion, and his speech including his self-introduction probably did not exceed twenty words. Although he could not see his face clearly, Haroldt could fully imagine how unhappy Elhaisen looked when he was conscripted.

When Elhaisen turned around and left the stage, all the scholars in the audience were still in a state of confusion. If they had spoken out their true feelings, the whole place would have been filled with voices like "Is this the end?" and "It's over?"

Harold began to applaud, and the people around him began to applaud as if awakened from a dream. Only then did sparse applause begin to sound in the academy.

After the freshman meeting, Harold met Kavi again on the way to the Palace of Wisdom.

Kavi didn't expect to run into Harold again so soon. He was in a good mood and walked up to him and said, "Brother Harold, I saw you applauded me! What do you think of my speech today?"

"Excellent," Harold said with a smile, "It has benefited me a lot. I think many of my classmates are eager to bring two kilograms of Dun Dun peaches to kneel at the door of the great sage of the Miaolun Sect and beg him to let them into the academy."

"It's not that exaggerated," Kavi, who had been trying to show off, now felt embarrassed.

"I also heard Senior Elhaisen's speech. I was the one who led the applause. I really couldn't bear to see Senior Kawi's friends being silenced," said Haroldt.

"He was completely forced to do this. The representative of Shravasti College asked for leave, so Alhaisen's tutor pushed him out. If you've been with that guy, you'll know that he doesn't care about these things at all, and he won't take the initiative to participate in such a speech. But thank you for helping him anyway," Kavi said. Fearing that Haroldt would have a bad first impression of Alhaisen, he quickly explained, "But he is a very good scholar and one of the smartest people. He's just... um... eccentric."

"Senior Kawi actually praised him so frankly," Harold pretended to be curious, "Is he really that good? I really want to meet him."

"Soon - let me think of a name for the society. Hey, how about calling it 'DSRT (Ancient Egyptian: Lord of the Red Earth)'?" Kavi began to think. He also wanted his two friends to meet, but he also wanted to avoid such opening lines as [Alhaisen, this is my new friend, let me introduce him to you], [Alhaisen, this is Harold, I think you two should get along well], [Alhaisen, this is Harold, the junior who just entered the Ordinance Court this year], which would make people dig their toes in the ground just thinking about it, so he decided to speed up the process of establishing the society.

"It's very straightforward. I think it will suit the tastes of some mentors and perhaps get them to approve more funding for us," Harold nodded after searching the meaning of DSRT in the void.
