Chapter 9 The Pirates Have Landed

There were already a lot of stones piled up by the dock and everyone had left. Adah and Burton had already carried two cannons to the deck. Vic asked how to adjust the angle and then began to explore.

The pirate ship was not within range yet, so Vic wanted to study the cannon first and give the pirates a good beating.

By the time the pirate ship came within range, all the cannons on the ship had been moved to the deck and lined up facing the distant sea.

Vic fired a shot at an angle of 45 degrees upwards towards the pirate ship, but missed. Instead, it hit the side of the ship, causing a splash. This scared the pirates on the ship, and it almost hit the ship.

He asked Adah and Bolton to help load the ammunition. He tried one shot from each cannon, but none of them hit the target. Vic made adjustments while firing.

The pirate ship was terrified. Although they didn't hit the target, they were not far away. The pirate captain Bradrick was very anxious. He was not afraid of a head-on battle, but he was afraid that the ship would sink before anyone got ashore.

Bradrick shouted, "Raise the sail quickly, and row the boat. Hurry up and get ashore, or we will all fall into the water if the boat is hit."

"And the rest of you, go and bring up the cannons and fight back." He shouted to the minions around him. But before he could finish his words, the main mast of the ship was broken by a cannon. The mast fell down and crushed two people. The two men had blood at the corners of their mouths, their eyes turned white, and they fainted.

Bradrick was startled. The mast fell right beside him, almost crushing him. He was furious and said, "You idiots, the ship should not go in a straight line. Go faster. Don't use the cannons anymore. Our ship is already broken. We want to rob that cargo ship and cannot destroy it."

"Oh!!!" the minion shouted.

I'm the Iron Fist Bradrick, with a bounty of 500 million berries. I was summoned by the Pirate King to go out to sea in search of the great treasure. How could I fail here? I, the firecracker, must kill him with my own hands when I get ashore to let him know how terrifying I am.

The coast was getting closer and closer. Although the ship was not moving in a straight line, several shells still hit the deck, injuring several minions.

"Captain, I'm afraid this ship is doomed and can't hold on for much longer. Let's get ready to swim over," suggested Bert, the second-in-command on the ship.

"Swim over? Wouldn't that make you a lamb to be slaughtered? That won't work."

"Captain, let's swim over and pretend to be captured. You and I both have a bounty on our heads, so they won't take our lives right away. Then we can suddenly attack, and it won't be difficult for us to fight our way out with our abilities." He turned his head and glanced at the minions rowing the boat. "As for them, they're on their own," Bert said calmly.

Bert was originally a bounty hunter. In order to find the great secret treasure, he got involved with Bradrick and gathered a group of people to form this pirate group. His strength was not as strong as Bradrick, so he could only be ranked second. Now the bounty is 300 million Baileys.

"Let's wait a little longer. Wait until the boat is really broken before jumping into the sea. Now we should move forward as much as possible." Bradrick said after thinking for a while.

When Vic saw that the ship was not moving in a straight line, he knew it would be difficult to sink it with cannons, but he still tried his best to fire, and occasionally he could hit a target. After a while, the ship was already a hundred meters away.

Vic looked at the few remaining shells, then looked at the pirate ship less than a hundred meters away, sneered, and got off the ship directly to where the stones were piled.

He picked up a stone, shook it, spread his legs and threw it directly at the pirate ship, making a hole in the side of the ship.

Vic curled the corners of his mouth. The effect was not bad. He had practiced throwing knives for a good reason. They were much more accurate than cannons. And it felt better to hold something in the hand.

He ordered Ada and Bolton to pick up stones for him, and then he quickly threw them onto the pirate ship. Look at this posture, he is definitely little Garp.

Just as Vic was throwing stones, the mayor had already arrived at the dock with the security team and saw that Vic had already smashed holes all over the pirate ship.

"Hahaha, Vic, good job. This pirate ship is now destroyed, and you have become so powerful. Your parents will be very happy if they knew." Mayor Andre laughed and said with some sadness.

Orens is his secretary. He has worked with him for more than ten years and they have a very deep relationship. He is also very pleased to see Vic's growth.

Vic turned his head and looked at the group of people behind him. He smiled and said to the leader, "Uncle Andre, you are here. This pirate ship can no longer hold on. I think the pirates will jump into the sea and swim over. Please have everyone disperse and guard the beach. Don't let anyone escape."

"Okay, let's do as you say. Everyone, disperse, take out your weapons, and guard the surroundings. If any pirates resist, kill them on the spot," Andre agreed and spoke coldly to the security team.

Vic watched Andre arrange the deployment of the security team, and then asked Ada and Bolton to bring over the remaining shells.

At this time, the pirate ship was less than 50 meters away from the shore. It was in tatters and the pirates on the ship were stunned. There was a little monster on the island. Could they survive on the island? The pirates were a little uneasy.

Bradrick and Bert looked at each other and nodded.

This means that they know the people on the island are difficult to deal with, and they are ready to show weakness to the enemy.

Vic picked up a cannonball, looked at the pirate ship, and threw it directly. The cannonball collided with the board and exploded. After three cannonballs, the ship stopped and slowly sank. The pirates jumped into the sea and were swimming towards the shore.

At this time, Rebecca also came to the dock, very quickly. Andre only saw a shadow, and Rebecca was next to Vic.

Andre was very surprised. Rebecca was so strong that she was worthy of being her daughter.

When Rebecca heard the notice, she rushed over as fast as she could with their weapons. Now her chest was rising and falling rapidly and she was breathing slightly.

Rebecca held Vic's knife out to Vic and gasped, "Vic, here, your knife."

Then he turned around to look at the silent ship and curled his lips slightly, "The ship is about to sink, why did you call me here? To watch the fun."

After hearing what Rebecca said, Andre said, "Rebecca, you can't say that. Pirates who can be eliminated in the sea are good pirates. They are difficult to deal with on land. There will definitely be casualties in a melee with so many people. This is the best result now, thanks to Vic."

Vic also added: "How could I know this pirate group was so weak? They were crippled by just a few shells and rocks."

Victor thought that pirates would have some special tricks to shoot down the cannonballs, just like the Straw Hat Pirates, so that the cannonballs could not get close to them.

Except for Rebecca, the corners of the mouths of the others nearby twitched. Some even complained that the pirates were too weak. It was really weird.

In fact, this cannot be blamed on Vic and Rebecca. After training for such a long time, they also want to see what level they can reach now and how they compare with the pirates. It can be regarded as a small test.

But Vic was still too cautious and sank both the men and the boat. People on the shore were holding guns, and the pirates had no choice but to surrender if they didn't want to be drowned.

The pirates who came ashore were tied up at gunpoint and gathered together.

The pirates also looked at the group of people who kidnapped them, and their eyes fell on Vic in particular. There was fear in their eyes. They had never heard of anyone throwing cannonballs with bare hands. When they were at sea, they had seen this young man firing cannons and throwing stones.

If Vic knew what they were thinking, he would definitely say that there was an old man in Windmill Village who always did this, and the Pirate King had no choice but to flee everywhere, and I have just gotten nowhere.

The mayor and the security team were all very excited. It was a great achievement to catch so many pirates this time.

The mayor had Bradrick and Bert brought closer. He looked at the tall and burly man with the captain's hat, then at the man with a sword next to him, and felt that the two men looked familiar.

Not quite reassured about the two, he said to Rebecca solemnly, "Rebecca, go and take the sword from that man's waist."

He was afraid it would be unsafe to let anyone else go, and Rebecca was much better than the others.

What everyone didn't see was that the two men had hands behind their backs taking out knives and cutting the rope. This was something they had prepared in advance just for this moment.

If you say that ropes can still tie up people in the pirate world, why do you need to cut them with a knife? Can't you just break the ropes directly?

It really doesn't work. Being able to break the rope depends on the situation. The rope can really tie up a person. Look at the first time Luffy met Zoro. If Luffy hadn't blocked the gun, Zoro, who was tied to the pillar, would have been shot to death. He was able to escape only after getting the knife.

Do you think Bert is as strong as Zoro? When Zoro first appeared, it was like a piece of cake for him to kill pirates with a bounty of millions of Baileys.

Closer to home.

Rebecca didn't care about the group of kidnapped pirates. She strode over with a sword in one hand and came to the man.

The two looked at each other, and saw the sharpness in each other's eyes, knowing that the other was a swordsman.

At this moment, Bert suddenly jumped up, stretched the rope that was about to be cut, quickly pulled out the knife from his waist and put it on Rebecca's shoulder, with the blade less than one centimeter away from her neck.
