Chapter 13 Rogge Town
After several days of sailing, the ship was unloading and loading cargo at several islands. After breakfast in the morning, Vic sat cross-legged on the deck and closed his eyes to meditate as usual. He had never stayed in the room that Captain Buck had arranged for him, as he was either in the dining room or on the deck.
After sitting for a while, Vic was awakened by Buck, who said that the ship would arrive in Rogue Town in the afternoon.
After hearing this, Vic stopped practicing. He didn't care about those few hours. He wanted to take a good look at this famous town, the last island at the entrance to the East China Sea of the Grand Line, the town of beginning and end, the birthplace and execution place of the Pirate King.
There have been occasional ships passing through this sea area, and pirate ships can be seen from time to time, but the pirate ships have not attacked other ships. I guess they want to keep a low profile as they are approaching the Grand Line. There is a naval base in Rogue Town.
After lunch, the coastline of Rogue Town could be seen. There were more and more ships on the sea, and pirate ships passed by from time to time. Finally, the cargo ship docked at the pier. Vic and Buck told each other that they wanted to go to Rogue Town for a stroll. Buck had no objection and just asked him to be careful because there were many pirates in the town. Then he arranged for people to come and unload the cargo.
Vic got off the boat and looked around the dock, he found that there were quite a lot of ships, including several pirate ships, which made Vic feel funny. These pirates were really brave. Rogue Town is such a big naval base, and you just parked on the dock so blatantly, challenging the majesty of the navy. You don't want the ship anymore.
But thinking about the fact that there is no Smoker the Smoker guarding here yet, the deterrent power here is not enough. Smoker should be about the same age as me now. I was ten years old when One Piece executed him, and Smoker was about eleven or twelve years old when he appeared at the execution ground. I wonder if Smoker has eaten the devil fruit now and has joined the navy.
As I was thinking, I walked to the entrance of Rogue Town. What caught my eye was the gatehouse with the words "Rogue Town" written on it. The town was crowded and lively, with sounds of hawking, shouting, and quarreling heard everywhere, and the streets were crowded with people.
Looking at this prosperous scene, it is probably rare in the entire East China Sea. It is worthy of being the entrance to the Grand Line with developed trade. Wick has a knife on his waist and is strong. No one is blind enough to come here to cause trouble. Wick wants to come here to buy the knife, Zoro's sword - Xuezou. Wick knows that this knife will be useless if he doesn't take it, so he might as well save its life. He hasn't encountered a good knife yet, so he will make do with it for now so as not to destroy it.
When asking passers-by about the weapon shop, many women blushed when they saw Vic's appearance. Some even came over to chat with him, but Vic sent them away. In the end, they all asked men for directions. After searching several weapon shops, they found the owner with a peculiar hairstyle. The design of two crossed swords on the door of the shop was very stylish.
Unexpectedly, the boss has already opened the store. Vic was afraid that he came too early and his trip was in vain. After some calculations, he found that Zoro is still a baby over one year old. Vic couldn't help but chuckle.
When the bald boss saw a man with a sword on his waist coming in, he knew that business was coming, and he immediately came out from the counter to greet him with a smile.
When the boss walked out of the counter and looked up into the eyes of the man in front of him, his heart suddenly froze and he felt uncomfortable being stared at by these eyes.
Fortunately, that feeling disappeared immediately. Vic just glanced at the boss subconsciously, and when he saw his body trembling, he realized that his gaze was a little too strong, and he immediately restrained it.
"Sir, do you want to buy a knife? I have a complete range of knives here. Take a look and see if you find one that satisfies you." The boss said with a smile.
"Okay, then I'll take a look first." Vic said with a smile.
After that, he started walking around the store. Vic knew that Xuezou was not on display, so he wanted to take a look at the Sandai Kitetsu, experience this sword, and find out what magical power it had.
He definitely wouldn't want this knife. He wouldn't want this kind of knife that wants to control its owner even if he could suppress it.
He walked around and looked at everything, even the cheapest ones, which cost 5 Baileys each in a wooden barrel. He looked through them all carefully, but no, he didn't find the Sandai Kitetsu. "It seems that the Sandai Kitetsu has not yet fallen into the hands of this boss. This is normal. If it existed now, it couldn't have been here for the past ten years until Zoro arrived. It must have been bought by someone long ago. I guess the Straw Hat Pirates got this sword not long before they arrived in Rogue Town." Wick thought secretly.
Seeing that there were no other famous knives, Vic went straight to the counter and said, "Boss, I've seen all these knives, they're not very good. Do you have any other famous knives hidden away that you don't display?"
The boss was a little surprised. He really had a famous sword that he hadn't taken out. How did you know? "Yes, there is one, but... hehe." The boss rubbed his hands, and the meaning was self-evident.
"Money is not a problem, just give it to me," Vic saw through it.
Hearing Vic's words, the boss's face lit up with joy, and he went upstairs to the back room. After a while, he took out a knife holder covered with a long purple cloth and placed it on the counter.
"The blade is made of black lacquer, and the edge is a small T-shaped, fast sword - Xuezou. This is the best sword I have. I didn't want to sell it, but looking at your eyes, I know you will become a famous swordsman in the future. Take this - Xuezou, and become famous together." The boss said seriously with a red nose.
Vic came here for it, so he naturally wouldn't be polite with him: "Just tell me how much it is."
The boss rubbed his hands awkwardly and held up a finger: "One million Baileys will be enough. I have no choice. I borrowed a lot of money to open a store before. It is too risky to open a store in Roge Town."
Vic said nothing, he took out 100 million Baileys from his backpack and put them on the counter, picked up the snow and pulled out the blade to take a look.
Vic didn't care that the boss gave a knife to Sauron but asked for one million for him. After all, it happened more than ten years ago and Vic didn't want to owe him a favor. This amount of money was not much and he could easily pay it.
Just as Vic was looking at the knife, three people walked in from outside. The leader was wearing a pirate captain's hat and rushed towards the counter.
"Hey kid, I like this knife. I was dazzled by the reflection of the blade when I was on the street. This knife and I are destined to have it, hahahaha"
Vic turned his head and looked at the short, fat, dark and ugly pirate. He looked him up and down and didn't recognize him. He said calmly: "Can't you see I've already paid? It's first come, first served when buying things."
"Hahaha, I didn't say I wanted to buy anything. I'm a pirate, if I want something, I can't rob." The fat black man laughed proudly.
The shop owner was a little scared and trembling slightly, not knowing whether he should take the money on the table.
Vic raised his lips slightly, saying playfully, "Oh, I haven't heard of you. Are you sure you can rob it? There is a naval base in the town. Aren't you afraid?"
"Hehehe, our captain's bounty is 200 million Baileys, so we're not afraid of the navy or anything. Hand over the knife quickly and I'll spare your life." A minion next to him said loudly.
The shop owner was even more frightened, and Vic was even more puzzled. He couldn't spend the money, but there was nothing he could do since someone gave him the money.
He flashed to the side of the three people, and the Xuezou sword, which was not yet unsheathed, attacked them horizontally, and the three people's faces hit the scabbard directly. If the scabbard had feeling, it would probably feel very painful.
The boss looked at the three people who fell to the ground in surprise. Seeing the red marks on their faces and the blood from their noses, he felt a little pain in his face and touched his face subconsciously.
"Okay, boss, there's a man here worth 200 million Baileys. Take him to the naval base to claim the bounty, and I won't pay you for the knife." After saying that, Vic turned and walked out.
The shop owner was surprised at Vic's strength. He looked young and his face had not fully grown yet.
Seeing that Vic was about to leave, the boss quickly said, "My dear customer, this person is worth 200 million Baileys, and Xuezou only wants 100 million Baileys. I still owe you 100 million Baileys. Don't leave and I will give you the change."
Vic didn't look back, but waved his hand and said, "Just consider it as the transportation fee."
"Sir, can you tell me your name?" the shop owner asked carefully.
"My name is Vic, Orens Vic."
The man had already walked out of the store when he finished speaking. The boss was stunned for a moment and murmured, "Vic, Orens Vic, a name I have never heard of. Will you become an unrivaled master?"
After the boss came to his senses, he immediately asked someone to transport the 200 million Baileys worth of goods away.
After Vic bought the knife, there was only one thing left for him to do in Rogue Town, and that was to go see the execution platform of the Pirate King. Such a famous place must be visited.
