Chapter 23 Full Moon Night
Vic dragged the body of the armored Tyrannosaurus Rex towards the edge of the cliff. He would not let go of such a good prey. Moreover, he was seriously injured and needed to eat to recover. This was the strongest prey he had hunted so far. Vic would pull out his teeth and preserve them.
When he returned to the cabin, he kept half of the meat. This armored Tyrannosaurus Rex was too big, like a small mountain. Vic certainly couldn't finish it in one meal, so he would take some dragon meat out of the island.
After processing this half of the meat, he started to grill it directly. During the grilling time, Vic started thinking again. Today he has reached the realm of cutting iron, but it is still a beginner. There is still a lot of room for improvement. His body and mind can continue to be stronger, and he will be able to cut more things. With his talent, it is no problem to move forward steadily, but he cannot spend too much time on the island. He still needs to engage in more fierce battles. "I've decided. After my injury is healed, I will go hunting in the forest. Haha." Vic said with great enthusiasm.
After eating dinosaur meat, the changes in my body are obvious. My injuries are almost healed and I will be fully recovered after a day of rest. The density of my muscles and bones has also greatly increased. Dinosaur meat is a great tonic.
Dinosaur bones were scattered all over the ground, and Vic lay down outside. The moon in the sky was much rounder. After looking at the moon for a while, Vic fell asleep. No animals came to disturb him. The ground was full of dinosaur bones. After all, these were the bones of the outer overlords. Although they had turned into bones, the breath was still there. The outer animals would not come here. The animals in the inner circle generally seldom came to the outer circle, so Vic was very safe.
The next day, Vic did not go hunting. Instead, he scattered dinosaur bones around the cabin to prevent animals from outside from accidentally breaking into the cabin.
After dealing with the dinosaur bones, Vic sat cross-legged in the open space and meditated. He wanted to experience this state of mind again, consolidate it and deepen it.
After all, Vic entered this realm step by step, not suddenly jumping up to rush in to take a look and then falling down. His realm is very stable, and now he just needs to do it with ease, which is what was mentioned before, doing whatever he wants and letting the sword move as his heart moves.
Another day, Vic dragged the prey back to the cabin. Today he went to the inner circle and felt that there were no large animals in the area between the inner circle and the outer circle. Today the animals in the inner circle behaved a little strangely. They were all very quiet, did not prey on each other, and rarely saw fighting. This was completely different from what he saw in the outer circle.
"The forest is a little different today. What's going on? Are the animals in the inner circle living in such harmony? Are they still ferocious beasts?" Vic felt that the forest was a little different today. It was very quiet. The animals were all dormant, but the excitement in their eyes was hard to conceal. They were expecting something. Vic felt that this island was a little mysterious, but his current strength was not enough to reach the central lake area.
Vic stopped thinking about the forest. He had to take one step at a time and not take big steps. The secrets of the island were not something he could covet now.
Vic packed up today's prey and started cooking. Most of it was grilled, and some was kept for soup and other dishes. He ate and drank while looking at the hazy sea and the starry sky. Today's moon had not risen completely, but it was already very round. Vic regretted that there was no wine. It would have been perfect if he had.
Although Vic is alone on the island, he does not feel lonely. He has lived alone for so many years in his previous life and has become accustomed to it. He now looks forward to this world where there are so many familiar people waiting for him to meet. So Vic wants to become stronger. Standing at a higher level, the people he can meet will also be more interesting.
Vic fell asleep, and he didn't know how much time had passed before he was awakened by the roars of beasts. He came to the edge of the cliff, and with the help of the full moon in the sky, he saw many sea kings rising and falling in the sea. However, this was a cliff, and the sea kings bypassed here and landed from other places. Vic remembered that Koshiro said he had seen sea kings on the island. He thought that he had been here for half a month and had not seen any sea kings on the island. He didn't expect it to be today. Vic looked up at the bright full moon in the sky. Could it be related to it?
Vic thought about it but couldn't figure out any necessary connection. It couldn't be that the moonlight was the brightest tonight and the sea kings could see the road clearly without being afraid of tripping. He himself didn't believe it. He decided to go over and take a look. There must be a secret here.
Why did the sea kings risk fighting the giant beasts on the island to come to the island? Vic moved towards the shallows and followed a huge sea king of the type of knife loach. This sea king had no legs, so it certainly did not face as much danger on land as it did in the sea. Following the sea king, there was no obstruction along the way, and many animals that were blind and blocked the way were swallowed by it directly, and they came to the center of the forest.
When we were almost at the edge of the central lake, there were already many animals gathered there, big and small. When they saw the knife loach and sea kings coming, the animals quickly made way.
Vic did not continue to move forward, but jumped to the top of a big tree. He jumped over several trees and came to a tree at the edge of the lake. He looked around and was immediately stunned.
The lake was surrounded by creatures. The ones in the innermost were the largest, and the ones behind them became smaller. There were various forms of giant beasts, and Vic could only recognize a few of them. Vic was stunned. Thousands of animals gathered together, which should be very noisy, but it was not so here. There were only a few roars of beasts occasionally, and that was to compete for a good position. They all faced the lake, with expectation in their eyes.
Vic was very confused. If he was so interested in the lake, why didn't he go into the water? Soon he found out the reason.
Two giant beasts were fighting for territory, and one of them was knocked into a lake by the other. The lake suddenly boiled, and a lot of white steam came out. The giant beasts screamed miserably, and red waves appeared in the water. After a while, only a skeleton was seen turning over and sinking.
Vic took a deep breath when he saw it, he knew how powerful these animals were. Koshiro had said that he could not defeat them. Such a strong defense disappeared in just a few minutes. It should be more appropriate to say that it melted. This lake was very strange. Vic knew that there were many magical islands and phenomena in this world, but this was the first time he had experienced it personally.
“If I encounter a strong enemy that I cannot deal with in the future, I can lure him over and let him have a taste of my power.” Vic thought secretly.
Vic had been lurking in the treetops. He wanted to see what these ferocious beasts were waiting for, but after half an hour, there was still no movement.
When the moon was about to reach directly overhead, changes finally occurred in the lake. A large number of bubbles emerged in the middle of the lake, and waves surged around.
This went on for a quarter of an hour, and then the waves became even bigger. Something vaguely appeared on the surface of the water, like water plants. Branches of aquatic plants appeared everywhere on the surface of the lake, scattered on the surface of the lake. As these branches continued to rise, more branches of water plants appeared on the surface of the lake.
As time passed, the lake surface within one kilometer in the center was covered with branches. Now they didn't look like branches anymore. The highest place looked like a big tree standing there. Vic guessed that there might be a forest in the lake, which would float to the surface tonight.
The reality is even more outrageous than imagination. As the forest continues to rise, all the branches are connected together. Yes, it is just a tree, but this tree is ridiculously large. The branches of the whole tree are spread out for almost two kilometers. The entire treetop is like an arc of a big circle. The situation under the tree is currently invisible as the bottom is blocked by the canopy.
Seeing this, Vic opened his mouth in shock. He had never seen such a big tree in his life. It was probably only the Jianmu in the myth that could compare to it. There were also the Adam tree, the Eve tree, and O'Hara's tree of omniscience in this world, but Vic had never seen those trees. Vic was shocked by the trees in this world. They were so big! How long would it take to burn the chopped wood?
