Chapter 23 Care
It takes a week to recuperate her eyes, which is long but short at the same time. Especially after George and Fred came to take care of her, Della, who had no books to read, even felt that the time passed slower when she prayed. She liked the feeling of being remembered.
However, the time to remove the gauze soon came. Considering that Della had not seen the light for a week, Madam Pomfrey chose to remove it at night. Before removing it, Della heard footsteps, and the twins who had been taking care of her also came.
"I can't wait to see our young lady's beautiful eyes."
"I think the young lady would like to see us, too."
The sound of the two people playing funny games could be heard. They never said their own names when they spoke, but that made it particularly funny. Della's nervous mood was relieved, and she laughed as she did before, and her smile was more genuine than every time before.
"Yes, I will soon face the difficult question of which one is Fred and which one is George."
“This is a really difficult question.”
"But we are very kind and will not punish Della."
As they were talking and laughing, the gauze in front of their eyes was peeled off layer by layer, and the scene in front of their eyes gradually changed from darkness to vague light. When the gauze was completely peeled off, the long-lost light appeared. Della blinked uncomfortably, and with each fall of her eyelids, the scene in front of her eyes became clearer.
The hill of gifts gradually revealed its original appearance from a colorful mass of blocks. Della blinked and subconsciously turned to the place where the sound had just been made. She really wanted to see Fred and George now.
When she turned around, she saw a group of people, including Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and of course the twins with red hair like Ron. They all looked at her with concern.
Della really didn't expect that they would all come over. After the shock, an unprecedented emotion swept over her body, and she felt her eyes were a little wet.
"It seems that our young lady enjoys our Gryffindor reception."
"Yeah, that really makes me happy."
Della laughed, a happy laugh that was totally unlike her usual restrained style, which startled Harry and the others.
"This is so unfair. Why can my brother come to see Della every day and play with Maggie?" Ron muttered as he watched Madam Pomfrey go away. His face wrinkled up. "Of course patients need visits from their friends. Her rules are so unreasonable!"
"But not everyone can satisfy our lady."
"A reckless person like you can't take care of the young lady."
The twins spoke bluntly to their silly brother, and Neville and Hermione also looked on in agreement. Ron could only look to Harry for comfort pitifully.
"You guys are really good at making fun of me. I won't need you to take care of me anymore," Della smiled and glanced at them. She first looked at the boy who was closer to her, then looked at the man on his left, and hesitantly asked, "Fred? George?"
They looked at each other with raised eyebrows, then looked at Della at the same time.
"Did Della guess?"
"No matter what you guess, we will deny it."
"You are so mean. I just thought that Fred was the one who spoke first the first time. It turns out that the elder brother will always take one step before the younger brother." While speaking, Della had already got out of bed and went down to look at the pile of comfort supplies with the help of Hermione.
“That’s really good advice.”
"We will definitely pay attention next time."
What she meant was that she guessed right, Della said as she listened while paying attention to the pile of comfort supplies. Although Maggie had mentioned it to her, she was still shocked when she actually saw it.
Snacks, books, perfumes, potions, clothes... there really is everything.
"Merlin! How can there be so many!"
Ron exclaimed as Della fiddled with the comfort items, his eyes fixed on the snacks.
"Pay attention Ron, your eyes are red."
"We didn't give you Logan water."
Ron's face turned red when he heard his brothers' voices from above him. He quickly argued with the two laughing Weasleys and was almost in a fight.
"It's really too much." Looking at the friends in front of her, Della frowned exaggeratedly like George and Fred, and then laughed suddenly, "If you can help me share some of the burden, I will be very happy."
As she said that, she picked up a bunch of snacks and gave them to Ron, who blushed. His eyes widened and he stretched out his hand to take them, which caused his brothers to laugh at him again.
But after all, they were gifts from other people, so clothes, perfumes and other things obviously couldn't be given away. Even with Ron's start, everyone just took some snacks symbolically, and the gifts were still like a small mountain.
This made everyone a little worried. Even using the miniaturization spell to shrink them was not very convenient. At this time, Professor Quirrell walked in with a purple cloth wrapped around his head.
Not only was he startled, but several Gryffindor students were also startled. When the atmosphere was tense, Della spoke first.
"Professor, are you here to pick me up too?" Della's face put on that restrained smile again, and she looked as well-behaved as ever.
"Yes, I think that night, I kept you too late, and I also have some responsibility."
Quirrell stammered as he looked at this odd combination in surprise. He really couldn't understand how a Slytherin could be good friends with so many Gryffindors, especially since Harry Potter was among them. This made him a little worried about his master's reaction.
"Oh, thank you so much, Professor." Della gave her friends an apologetic smile. They all understood what she meant and said hello before leaving. However, the twins turned back and winked at him before leaving, with a ruffian look on their faces. Della responded to them with a big smile. If Quirrell hadn't been there, Della would probably have raised an eyebrow.
"Then please help me take all these things to the lounge."
Della spoke to Quirrell bluntly, and Quirrell walked to the pile of things very naturally and began to cast a spell.
Adult wizards are great. They can make those things disappear in no time. Well, I should say, they can move them to other places that they can't see. It's really a practical spell.
On the way back, Della also started to learn from Quirrell. This was considered an advanced spell for senior students, but she still learned it very quickly, which surprised Quirrell a little. Thinking that this was his master's flesh and blood, he admired the Dark Lord even more.
When they reached the basement where no one passed by, Quirrell approached her and spoke in a low voice.
"The master said that you are really cruel to yourself."
"But this is indeed a permanent solution." Della replied with a smile, and the emotion in her eyes faded a little.
Quirrell was stunned for a moment, and there seemed to be a little smile behind his head. He collected his thoughts and continued, "The master said that we can meet once a week in the future, but you can't stay in my office for so long. I will teach you a few more spells. Find me on the eighth floor after curfew on Thursday."
"Room of Requirement?" Della rolled her eyes and suddenly remembered the room she had accidentally entered before.
"Yes, how did you know? You're only a first grader."
"It's just a coincidence. That house is very interesting." Della still had that smile on her face as she responded to Quirrell's words perfunctorily.
As they were talking, they had already arrived at the slate door of Slytherin. The spell was changed every two weeks, and if I was correct, it should be the same spell from that night.
Taking the ball that was said to contain everything from Quirrell, Della said goodbye and put the gelatinous thing into the pocket of her robe. Then she said to the stone tablet, "Pure blood."
The stone slab slowly moved away. Della felt the light from the lounge was a bit dazzling after not seeing it for a long time. After getting used to the light, she walked in. The first thing she saw was senior Ariane reading a book on the sofa and Maggie with her arms around her neck.
The slight sound of the slate opening made Aryan subconsciously turn her head. Della responded to her gaze with a smile. The girl in front of her quickly ran towards her and threw herself into her arms.
"Thank you so much, Senior Elian."
Della's voice came muffled from her arms. Aryan stroked her softly with a gentle smile on her face. Although she was only a few years older than Della, she couldn't help but feel some pity for this poor girl.
Maggie also followed Aryan's movements and fell on Della, burying her head in her neck and rubbing it skillfully.
After a long time, Della raised her watery eyes and smiled at Aryan. Aryan also smiled gently in return. The two of them got up and packed their clothes, holding hands, and walked to the door of Della's dormitory. Aryan gently let go of her hand.
She looked at the door, then at Della, motioning her to open the door. Della paused, and Maggie on her shoulder did not give her any movement. After a small breath, she pushed the door open.
Fine powder flowed before her eyes, flashing a dreamy blue fluorescence. Several butterflies fluttering with powder were dancing gracefully. The scattered powder gathered and slid down like clear ribbons. The butterflies led Della forward.
The room illuminated by the fluorescent blue light was no different from the previous one. Della turned her eyes to look around. The butterfly flying in front of her finally stopped at the wall facing the door. Under the fluorescent light, Della could see a line of words on it.
"Congratulations to our young lady for being discharged from the hospital."
As the powder from the fluttering butterflies fell, the line of words also began to flicker. Finally, when Della got closer and closer, the words exploded with a "boom" along with the butterflies. The dreamy blue dust instantly surrounded Della. It was not choking, but had a sweet fragrance.
Senior Alian had closed the door and left at some point, leaving Della alone immersed in this amazing gift. She spun gently in the blue mist, then lay down on her little bed with a smile on her face, tears streaming from her eyes.
The blue mist gradually dissipated, and she hugged the quilt tightly, sobbing softly. Maggie stayed quietly by her side, comforting her again and again.
