Chapter 29 The Old Lady and Rebecca
Vic came to Rebecca's house, but didn't see the two people. He only saw a young strange woman cleaning the house. She was so scared when she saw the tall man coming in that the broom in her hand fell. Vic touched his nose awkwardly. He had been eating Gao Yuanling's food for the past two months, and his body had grown a lot. He was now 2.2 meters tall. She lowered her head when she entered the door just now. Vic guessed that this woman should be arranged by the mayor to take care of the old lady.
"You are Vic, right? My name is Tuya. I've seen you before. I'm glad you're back. They all missed you very much." Tuya came to her senses after being frightened. She recognized Vic when she saw his face.
"Tuya, hello! You've worked hard to take care of the old lady, thank you." Vic greeted and thanked her: "Do you know where the old lady and Rebecca went?"
"You are too polite. The mayor paid me for asking me to come and take care of the old lady. Besides, you and Rebecca are both heroes on the island. It is my honor to help the heroes take care of their families." Tuya said with a smile on her face.
"Rebecca is practicing swordplay in the forest, and the old lady is watering the vegetables in the garden."
"Okay, I get it. You go ahead and do your work. I'll go see them." Vic said, waved his hand and went out.
Vic knew where the vegetable garden was. The old lady had nothing to do normally, so she loved to take care of the vegetables. When Vic and Rebecca were practicing in the forest, the old lady would go to the vegetable garden to work.
Vic came to the edge of the vegetable garden and saw a small bucket at the old lady's feet. She was scooping water from the bucket with a wooden ladle in her hand.
"Alas, the old lady's back is more hunched, and she looks older. I don't know how long she can hold on. If the old lady passes away, Rebecca will be so sad. It seems that she should leave more flesh when she leaves. Gao Yuanling's flesh should be of some use," Vic said secretly as he looked at the old lady's back.
"Whose old lady is this? She's so old, instead of taking a rest, she comes here to water the plants. Isn't she afraid that her grandchildren will worry?" Vic said jokingly in a muffled voice.
When Maria heard someone talking, she turned around and looked. She was stunned when she saw a familiar figure with a smile walking towards her.
"Vic, you're back. You little brat, why haven't you come back to see your grandma for such a long time!" A tear fell from the old lady's eye, but she had a smile on her face. When she saw Vic coming closer, she hit him twice.
"Hey, grandma, I'm back, and I brought you some delicious food."
"It's good that you're back. Rebecca has missed you a lot during this period. I know she has always wanted to find you, but she is a burden and she can't let me go. She is a good child. I will leave her to you from now on!"
"Grandma, don't worry, I would have done the same thing even if you didn't tell me. I'm her brother, haha."
......
Vic helped the old lady water all the vegetable gardens and carried the old lady back home. When they got back to the old lady's house, Rebecca had not returned yet, and only Tuya was preparing lunch.
"Grandma, will Rebecca come back for lunch?" Vic asked the old lady softly.
"Normally she won't come back, but she will come back if it rains." The old lady smiled kindly.
"Then I'll go and ask him to come back for lunch."
"Okay, go ahead. You haven't seen each other for a long time. Let's get together."
Vic came out of the house and used Moon Step to rush directly to the forest. His speed was so fast now that he reached the edge of the forest in no time.
Vic didn't see Rebecca and guessed that she might have gone into the forest to hunt. He used his Observation Haki to sense it, but didn't sense anything because the range of his Observation Haki was not far enough.
Vic directly took off into the air with the Moon Step, flying towards the center of the forest while using his Observation Haki. After a while, Rebecca appeared at the edge of his Observation Haki and flew straight over to her in the air.
When Vic arrived, Rebecca was fighting with a giant elephant. After hearing the sonic boom, Rebecca withdrew from the fight and looked in the direction of the sound. She saw a tall and slender figure walking in the air. He was dressed in black, wearing a cloak, with a sword at his waist. It was Vic from the looks of his face.
Rebecca saw Vic coming from the sky and thought she was hallucinating. She raised her hand to rub her eyes, and when she looked again, the man was still there.
"careful!"
Seeing Vic appear in front of her, Rebecca was a little dazed and forgot that she was fighting with a wild beast. As a result, the giant elephant rushed in front of Rebecca, and its two large tusks pointed straight up.
When Vic saw this, he disappeared in the air with a "shaver". When he reappeared, he was already in front of Rebecca. Snow came out of the sheath and directly cut off the two tusks of the giant. Snow walked forward without slowing down and directly chopped off the elephant's head.
Vic sheathed his knife, and with a slight sound, the giant elephant fell to the ground with a bang. Rebecca then realized that Vic was too fast. The sound from when he shouted "Be careful" to when the giant elephant fell to the ground was still echoing in her ears.
"Vic, you're back. You came back to see me. I missed you so much!" Rebecca hugged Vic's waist directly, her face full of excitement.
Vic had never been away from her for such a long time. She felt very lonely practicing alone during this period. Although her grandmother was by her side, she couldn't explain the feeling, which was loneliness.
Vic slapped her hand away, turned around, reached out and touched Rebecca's head, and said with a smile, "Rebecca, you've grown a lot taller. Did you listen to grandma?"
Rebecca is barely 14 years old now, still a child, but after four years of practicing with Vic and meditating, her mind is no longer that of an ordinary 14-year-old.
"Vic, don't touch my head. I'm not a child anymore." Rebecca grinded her little fangs, looking fierce. She is now 1.7 meters tall. From behind, she looks like an adult. From the front, it can be said that it is not difficult to ride a bicycle up this small hill. Her waist and hips don't have any curves. Yet she keeps pretending to be an adult. Vic finds it a little funny.
"Okay, okay, Rebecca is an adult now!"
"Vic, you've grown taller. Were you flying in the sky just now? I want to learn, too. Teach me!" Rebecca sheathed her sword and took Vic's arm and acted coquettishly.
"I still have a lot to teach you. There's no rush now. Let's go back and eat first. Grandma and Tuya are waiting." Vic said with a smile.
After saying that, he walked up to the giant elephant and picked it up.
"Vic, let's just go back. What do we need this for?" Rebecca was a little dissatisfied. Why do we need this when we go back together?
"Don't waste food. Take it back after you finish it. We can keep some and share the rest with our neighbors. Mr. Ba is coming to visit us tonight, and this can also be considered a dish." Vic replied with a smile.
"Rebecca, let's see who can get back first. I'll carry the elephant in the air, and you'll run below. Let's see who's faster."
"Okay, who's afraid of who, huh!" Although Rebecca really wanted Vic to take her flying, she still acted like a child in front of Vic.
Vic didn't say anything else. He carried the spoils and took a few steps into the air. Rebecca was not to be outdone and ran as fast as she could towards home.
Although Vic was carrying a heavy object, his speed was still much faster than Rebecca. However, he did not use his full speed to avoid hitting Rebecca.
Rebecca was very envious of Vic who was walking in the air. It was difficult to understand human beings' yearning for the sky. Vic had never told Rebecca about the Six Styles of the Navy before, because she would naturally come into contact with them when she arrived at the Navy Headquarters.
Rebecca is too young now, and her physical fitness has not yet reached the strength to practice the six styles. She cannot compare with Vic's physical talent. She just has some talent in kendo. Vic wants Rebecca to focus on swordsmanship and use the others as auxiliary. Forcing her to practice now will only hurt her physical foundation.
So Vic will explain the seriousness of the matter to her, and mainly teach her the state of cutting iron and the Haki of observation. It is enough for her to understand the six styles and practice them later.
