Chapter 31: Danger in the Forbidden Forest

Draco could never have imagined that even though he had been avoiding Della all day, he would actually see her in the detention team. She had a smile on her face and was chatting with those three people. She also glanced at him quickly. She didn't look uncomfortable at all!

Draco stood at the front of the team with a huffy look on his face, his eyes fixed on the oil lamp that Filch was holding, but his ears perked up to pay attention to the conversation over there.

"As you know, I was sentenced to a month's detention. Although it was basically Professor Snape who took me away, he seemed to have to go out today, so I came here." It was the fake Della.

"Oh, Merlin, you're really miserable. You finally got away from that old bat, and now you have to follow us to the Forbidden Forest. You might really die... Ah Hermione! Why did you hit me?"

That Weasley is still speechless as always, he deserves to be beaten! Draco thought angrily, and the school is the same, they actually let students go to the Forbidden Forest for detention? ? I must tell Dad about this!

"Quiet! I really can't stand you. You know, in the past..."

Filch, the leader, started mumbling again, talking about his history of corporal punishment of students. He always did this, displaying those cruel things like medals, which looked particularly scary on this dark road.

At this time, seeing Hagrid was actually a relief. Draco felt sarcastic in his heart. He took the lamp from the man who looked like a giant and curled his lips in dissatisfaction.

Hagrid was talking in his always muffled voice about unicorn blood, purity, and curses, and Draco was listening to all of it. In this forest where only moonlight leaked in, he kept turning his head warily, and the slightest movement would make him nervous for a long time.

It's unreasonable to let students go to the Forbidden Forest! I must tell Dad about this and make Dumbledore step down!

Until the pool of blood appeared, the entire team except Hagrid moved forward tremblingly. The bloody smell hit him in the face, and the giant in front of him actually scooped up the blood with his hands and looked at it. Draco felt sick in his heart, and he tightened his face and showed a very disgusted expression.

"This blood has been there for a while. It seems that another poor unicorn is injured. We have to find it as soon as possible," the giant in front of him said regretfully. He seemed to be silent for a while, "How about this, Ron, Hermione and I go this direction, Harry, Della and Malfoy go this way, Fang will lead you, we are the only ones who will not get lost in the Forbidden Forest."

Draco hummed in a long tone. He was not very satisfied with this allocation. The Forbidden Forest was already very dangerous, and this stupid guy actually wanted to go separately. He must tell his father.

"I can't believe I have to do such a lowly thing," Draco, who was standing between the two of them, raised the lantern again and complained to Harry beside him, "They actually let first-year students come to the Forbidden Forest. I'll tell my dad when I get back!"

"Draco, are you scared?" Harry looked around at the surroundings and responded to Malfoy's complaint indifferently.

"Afraid? Humph, afraid?" Draco snorted coldly. He glanced to the left and looked at Della in front of him without saying a word. He pursed his lips and exhaled, and stopped talking.

The three of them fell silent, even their breathing was very light, only the occasional sound of gasping and branches being trampled could be heard. They had different thoughts in their minds as they walked in this strange forest.

When they climbed up a small earthen slope with exposed tree roots, a fluorescent light that filled the air caught the three people's sight. To be precise, the fluorescent light had already dissipated halfway.

The moonlight shone directly onto the ground through the fluorescent materials. A horse-like black shadow fell there. From the perspective of the three people, they could also see the long horn with a faint glow lying quietly on the side.

The three of them were stunned for a moment. The moonlight shone in front of their eyes extremely clearly under the blessing of fluorescent light. They clearly saw a black figure bending in front of the beast and could hear the sound of swallowing. It was not until Yaya in front of them ran away in one breath that they became aware of the strong smell of blood.

Hearing the noise, the black shadow slowly turned around. His face was covered by thick black air. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that his entire body was wrapped in the ominous black air.

The black shadow moved, making a strange hissing sound, and slid towards them quickly in a snake-like posture. Draco felt his heart was suddenly gripped, and the scream that was originally blocked in his throat burst out. He hurriedly grabbed the stiff and cold little hand beside him, dragged Della and ran away without looking back.

Harry also came to his senses, his face still lingering with the roar of his companions' hasty escape. He subconsciously took a few steps back. His mind told him to run away immediately, but his eyes could not help but stare at the black shadow. His footing was unstable and he tripped and fell to the ground. He could only stare at the black shadow that was getting closer and closer.

Here, Draco dragged Della and ran in a panic, not even daring to look back, nor caring about which road he was taking. He only wanted to escape to a place where the shadow could not find him.

He didn't know why he dragged along this girl who always teased him, but in this darkness, only the slightly warm hand in his palm could give him a little comfort, making him seem less helpless in this dangerous place.

They staggered and fled in the Forbidden Forest. When Draco's legs began to ache from running and the girl's hand was numb from holding too much force, he could not help looking back. What he saw was not a dark shadow, but the woodland standing leisurely in the moonlight. He felt relieved and his legs slowed down, but his feet slipped and they both slid down the unclear hillside in the dark.

The feeling of falling came too fast, and Draco couldn't even utter a complete scream. He and Della had been hugging each other tightly as they rolled, and they could feel the pain of stones sliding across their bodies all the time. The fear and pain made the two of them who were rolling down tighten their arms around each other, and they tried their best to curl up and huddle together to reduce the pain.

There was a sharp buzzing in his ears, and the constant ups and downs made Draco's mind almost chaotic. He could not feel that the speed of rolling down was slowing down, and holding the other person tightly in his hands was already a subconscious behavior.

As the buzzing sound in his ears slowly faded away and his dilated pupils regained some spirit, Draco stared blankly at the moon above his head which was gradually becoming clearer, and the weight on his body became more and more obvious.

He rolled his eyes numbly, and could only see Della lying motionless on his chest. Her long hair, which was always well-groomed, was disheveled, and a few strands were probably poking her face.

Draco's mind was dull as he thought about the current situation. He felt that his soul and consciousness had been separated. He could not even feel the pain. Only some dull numbness stimulated his nerves, letting him know that he was still alive.

He wanted to push Della away, but despite all his strength he could only move his fingers slightly. Draco opened his mouth slightly and moved it a few times, but only a few discordant syllables came out.

He gave up and could only hope that others would find them. Draco turned his head slowly. His beautiful light golden hair was already covered with mud. He turned his head with difficulty, trying to confirm whether the environment he was in was safe.

The scene in front of him was still a little blurry and unclear. In his vision, a large group of fireflies flashing yellow, red or green light entered his sight. Della on his body also moaned at this time, and the black head and the long hair turned slightly.

She's still alive and it's safe here.

Realizing this, Draco's tension instantly relaxed. After releasing the tension, his eyes, which had been wide open, flickered and were about to close. As his field of vision narrowed, the scene in front of him became clearer. The group of fireflies seemed to be approaching here. If this was the case, it should be easier to be discovered...

As Draco thought this, his thoughts became more divergent. The movement on his chest could no longer stop his eyelids from closing. When his eyelids were about to touch, the scene that suddenly became clear in front of him was a large group of snakes swimming towards them.

It turns out that it wasn't a firefly, it was a snake's eye...

I have to take out my wand and run away, or I will really die...

But I’m so tired…

I'm going to die with this mudblood...

Never mind, let it be, we are all going to die anyway...

Why is there a hissing sound in my ears? It’s so fast...

I miss mom and dad so much...
