Chapter 1 3 Qingshan

Chapter 1 Sanqing Mountain

It is said that there are countless sacred mountains in the world, the seas are peaceful and the rivers are clear, immortals often appear, and the trend of seeking immortality and asking for the way is prevalent.

Among them, Bashu and Yuzhang are the most scenic.

Yuzhang is a land of natural beauty and rich natural resources, and has many outstanding people. The famous mountains that are known overseas include Mount Lu and Mount Mingyue of the Jian Sect, and Mount Dajue and Mount Zhenru of the Zen Sect. As for the famous Taoist mountains, they are even more famous throughout the world, with the ancestral temples of major sects standing tall, and the treasure mountains of talismans and talismans left behind.

Therefore, Yuzhang is also known as the capital of the world.

Yuzhang is the leader of the Eastern Taoism, among which Longhu Mountain and Sanqing Mountain are the most respected.

Longhu Mountain was founded in the Han Dynasty and is the ancestral temple of the Tianshi Dao. It has been in existence for nearly 8,000 years, the longest in the contemporary world. It has promoted the world's alchemy and governed the Five Thunders. However, Longhu Mountain is the most strict in accepting disciples, and its disciples are rare and noble. No strangers are allowed to approach the Tianshi Mansion.

Sanqing Mountain was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and is the ancestral temple of the Wanfa School. It has been in existence for more than 6,000 years and has cultivated internal and external alchemy, swordsmanship, talismans, formation diagrams, astrology, thunder magic, body refining, Qihuang, corpse resurrection and other methods, and has recruited many disciples. In particular, it has set up a mountain and a temple as a gateway to the world, and the mountain gates are wide open, with endless pilgrims.

This gateway to the world is Yuxiu Mountain, which runs from north to south. The east, west and north slopes are all extremely steep, forming cliffs. Only the south slope is gentle and beautiful, with a mountain path carved out.

There is a large flat land at the foot of the mountain road, and there is a Jinsha River flowing from east to west. There is a small town about ten miles south of the river, called Zhangxiang Town. The town is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the opening is facing Yuxiu Mountain. The mountains behind the town are all covered with red camphor trees, and the heart of the tree has a strange fragrance. The villagers of seven or eight villages near the town make a living by cutting down trees, taking the heart of the tree and selling it to the town. The people in the town then use the heart of the camphor tree to make incense and sell it to pilgrims.

The smoke of camphor is fresh and fragrant, with no black ash, refreshing and insect repellent. The pilgrims who come to Yuxiu Mountain to worship the Three Pure Ones always come to the town to buy some. Some outsiders also buy a lot of it each time they come, take it home to use, and put it in the family temple or ancestral hall.

In addition to making incense, the town's houses are often rented out to visitors who come to Yuxiu Mountain for sightseeing. Therefore, the people in the town are actually quite wealthy. The roads are paved with bluestone and every house is a brick house.

Late in the night of that day, a bright moon jumped out from the mountain behind the town, radiating its clear light in all directions, and fell into the town, reflecting people's hair and brows.

There was a small alley in the town, with small courtyards with blue tiles on both sides. In the courtyard at the end of the alley, there was a young man with a handsome face and a slender figure, who was carving in the moonlight.

The young man was carving the heart of a red camphor tree. There were already a dozen finished products piled up next to him, in the form of square plaques.

The square plaque is exquisitely carved, and the boy is skillful. There is no duplicate pattern on the carved decoration, such as Ruyi pattern, bat pattern, spider pattern, goldfish pattern, lion pattern, peony pattern, all of which are eye-catching. The words carved on the plaque are also very beautiful, all of which are auspicious words such as safe travel, good fortune and luck, good family, good fortune, and prosperity.

The young man has been carving these wooden signs for a long time, almost four months since the first month of the year. He has already completed sixteen, and only has one left to go. If he works hard, he will be able to finish the last one today.

When the moon was at its zenith, the boy completed the last one, which was engraved with eight words: "A hundred blessings have come, and auspiciousness has opened the door to virtue."

He heaved a sigh of relief, and returned to the house to take out the yellow ears and luggage that he had prepared long ago. He put the luggage on his back and threaded the yellow ears onto the wooden signs one by one. In this way, 17 safe door signs were ready.

The boy swept the courtyard and went out. There was also a doorplate hanging outside the eaves of his house, engraved with eight words "The journey begins, joy and happiness come". It was made by his father and has not been changed since it was hung up when the boy was ten years old.

The boy hung the wooden signs on the doors of the other 17 households in the alley one by one as his parting gift.

Tonight, he will leave the town, and he may not come back within three to five years.

The young man left a letter in his house for his neighbors. The letter clearly stated that if he could enter the fairy mountain, he would have to wait until he had accomplished enough in his studies before going down the mountain to visit his relatives. If he could not enter the fairy mountain, he would go out to study. After reading thousands of books, he would naturally have to travel thousands of miles.

The young man walked on the smooth stone streets, gradually moving away from Qingwa Lane and Zhangxiang Town, feeling reluctant to leave.

He grew up in Zhangxiang Town, but he was not born there. He was an abandoned baby. When he was six months old, he was put in a farmer's bamboo basket padded with old cotton cloth and sent to the first family in Qingwa Lane, Mr. Cheng Tingxian's house in Zhangxiang Town.

Cheng Tingxian was a teacher in Zhangxiang Town. He was a visitor from another place and had served as a local official. He was well versed in classics and Taoism. After resigning from his post, he brought his wife to settle at the foot of Sanqing Mountain. The couple loved each other deeply. Although they had no children, Mr. Cheng never took a concubine. The couple had free and easy personalities and were extraordinary. They had never adopted children even though they were sixty years old and had no children.

Fifteen years ago, the couple settled in Zhangxiang Town. When they had nothing to do, they taught the children in the town. They also accepted children sent by nearby villagers. The teacher was a genius, and his knowledge was far beyond the reach of the local old teachers, so his reputation gradually grew.

Two years later, one day, a child suddenly appeared in front of their door. The couple thought it might be God's will, so they took the child in.

The master was fond of Taoism and named it Yunqi, which was taken from the poem of Bai Yuchan, a Taoist immortal in the inner alchemy of Mount Wuyi in the south:
"I float on the clouds and look down at the world."

When Cheng Yunqi was eleven years old, the old lady passed away due to congenital physical weakness and organ failure. The old lady was able to live to be over seventy years old because of Mr. Cheng's meticulous care.

A month after the old lady passed away, Mr. Cheng died of illness due to missing her, leaving Cheng Yunqi with only a house and the favors of the people in the town.

The reason why Yunqi chose to leave tonight was because a message came from Yuxiu Mountain in the first month of the year, saying that an immortal in Sanqing Mountain was preparing to accept a disciple, but there was only one vacancy, and the exam would be held on the day of Grain Rain.

The way that Sanqing Immortal Mountain recruits disciples is unique. It is not like the Sword Sect where the master searches the whole world for disciples and asks them about both the sword and the conscience. It is also not like Longhu Mountain where the mountain gate is opened once every few hundred years and hundreds of checkpoints are set up.

Sanqing Xianshan provides a kind of health-preserving technique to pilgrims through Yuxiu Mountain, called Tongmai Shenjing Gong, which is free. If ordinary people practice it according to the diagram every day, it will have the effect of regulating qi and blood, nourishing internal organs, and activating meridians. If a person is gifted, he can also cultivate a clear qi in his body, which has the wonderful effect of expelling poison and curing diseases.

The first requirement for the Immortal Mountain to accept disciples is to possess this kind of pure energy. Secondly, the age must not be over sixteen years old. Only those who meet all these requirements can go to the Immortal Mountain to take the exam.

The examinations in the fairy mountain have never been regular. If you are lucky, you may encounter one three or five times a year. If you are unlucky, there may not be one in two hundred years.

The last time Sanqing Mountain publicly recruited disciples was twenty-eight years ago.

Cheng Yunqi has great talent and luck. He practiced Daoyin every day under the guidance of his father. However, his father practiced for a lifetime and was very healthy, but he never had the pure energy. Cheng Yunqi started practicing at the age of two and had the pure energy at the age of five. He is fifteen this year and happened to have the opportunity. If he passes next year, it will be impossible. Now he is alone and has no worries. Cheng Yunqi, who has been pursuing Taoism since childhood under the influence of his father, naturally wants to give it a try.

Tomorrow is Grain Rain, and Yunqi is worried that everyone will be too sad when they see him off and will find it difficult to control themselves, so he wants to leave overnight.

During the Grain Rain season, rain and fog slowly floated up at night. Cheng Yunqi walked from the bluestone road to the gravel road, then to the country dirt road, and finally stopped in front of a green hill.

There is a retaining wall made of pebbles around Qingqiu. In front of it, there is a pine tree and a cypress tree on the left and right. A stele is erected between the pines and cypresses. The inscription on the stele can be clearly seen under the moonlight: "The joint tomb of the late father Cheng Tingxian and the late mother Zhu Mingjun".

Yunqi knelt down in front of the monument and kowtowed deeply. Sobbing sounds were heard in the wilderness, accompanied by intermittent whispers.

The bright moon shifted a little to the west. The young man stood up, wiped the stele carefully with his sleeve, walked around to check the slope, and then left along the path towards Yuxiu Mountain.

------

On the second day, the rain was still falling. The sky was a little strange. It was gloomy overhead, but the surroundings were bright. Cheng Yunqi walked on the southern slope of the mountain road, but more and more people came. When he reached the top of the mountain in front of Yuze Peilin Temple, it was already crowded.

Yuze Peilin Temple, also known as Yulin Temple or Yuling Temple, is a Taoist temple specially built for the secular world in Sanqing Mountain. On weekdays, it prays for blessings and interprets dreams for pilgrims, or makes talismans and treats illnesses, or prays for the souls of the deceased. It is very popular.

The temple usually has many pilgrims and believers, and today is a rare occasion. Cheng Yunqi never held an umbrella, but when he walked under other people's umbrellas, there were few rain stains on his body.

There was a huge bluestone square in front of the Taoist temple, with a huge red copper incense burner in the middle, emitting a faint glow. At this time, the entire square was crowded with people, and umbrellas formed a colorful cloud.

The gate of the temple was wide open, and the abbot, Taoist Master Zhenwei, who was rarely seen on weekdays, stood at the door, seemingly waiting for something.

Naturally, everyone in the square was waiting as well. When the agreed time came, a very young Taoist priest walked out from the temple to the side of Taoist Master Zhenwei. He looked to be about twenty years old, with an imposing bearing, but unfamiliar in appearance. He had never appeared in Yulin Temple before, and the dark blue feather robe he was wearing was also a style that had never been seen before.

The Taoist priest in feathered robe bowed and said:

"I am really sorry for all the lay Buddhists who came here to burn incense. Today is the day when the master in the mountain accepts disciples, so there are really many people. Please wait for a while. It will not be too late to enter the temple and burn incense after seeing off those who are destined to be with you."

There was a sudden noise in the crowd, and everyone replied: "No, no, no."

"Please, young lay Buddhists who are under the age of sixteen and have pure spiritual energy, follow me into meditation."

The crowd was in commotion again, and some young boys and girls walked out of the crowd, about a hundred people in total.

Yunqi didn't bring an umbrella and walked out of the crowd. Fortunately, the rain was not heavy.

About a hundred people were divided into several rows and stood side by side. After forming a team, most of them looked back at the crowd, thinking that their closest people must be there.

The cloud did not look back.

"Yunqi!"

"Little Master!"

"Cheng family kid!"

Suddenly, a familiar shout came from behind. Yunqi turned around and saw that all the acquaintances from Zhangxiang Town had come!

Aunt Zhang, uncles from the Li family, and Grandma Wang all came at their old age. They raised their hands high and waved them vigorously.

At this time, the team also moved, and everyone was reluctant to leave and did not dare to stay for a moment. Yunqi waved his hands and asked them to go back. He did not even bother to wipe the tears from the corners of his eyes, and hurriedly followed the Taoist who had just spoken into the Taoist temple.

The Taoist temple runs from north to south, with the gate on the south. After passing the gate and walking inside, you will reach the Wang Lingguan Temple. Further back are the Four God Temples of Lei Gong, Dian Mu, Feng Bo and Yu Shi on both sides. Passing by the bell tower and drum tower, you will reach the Xuandu Grand Master Temple. The Guangcheng Taoist Temple and Dou Mu Yuan Jun Temple are on the left and right. The last place in the Taoist temple is, of course, the Sanqing Temple.

To the west of the Sanqing Hall, there is another hall called Gexian Hall.

Everyone entered the hall, where there was a stone statue of an old man. The old man stood with his hands folded, wearing a green Taoist robe, with a full forehead and a kind face.

There was no need for the Taoist guide to introduce him, as everyone knew that this person was the founder of Mount Sanqing, the Immortal Ge Hong, also known by his Taoist name Baopuzi.

The leading Taoist priest led the boys and girls around the statue of the ancestor and stood in front of the back wall of the hall.

When everyone was confused, the Taoist leader made a hand seal and chanted a spell. Suddenly, the white wall rippled like the surface of a lake, and in the flickering waves, the wall disappeared.

Under the astonished gaze of the crowd, a rolling, boundless milky white sea of clouds appeared before everyone.

Here is a new book for you. Please leave more messages and comments.
