Chapter 6 Are You Crying Stupid?

Shen Jingxuan was dumbfounded. No one had ever treated her like this in her life.

No one cared about her when she was young, and later when she joined the secret service, no one dared to treat her like this.

Shen Jingxuan let Mr. Shen carry her until they entered Mr. Shen's study, where he threw her onto a chair.

"Why are you hiding while you're still alive?" Old Master Shen roared.

No one knew how scared he and his wife were when they learned about this.

They were afraid that the treasure they held in their hands would leave them without a word.

He was afraid that when he met his son in the underworld, he would blame them for not taking good care of his wife and children.

"Not hidden." Shen Jingxuan replied.

Mr. Shen was slightly stunned, and continued: "Why did you disappear for several days?"

"Shen Jinghuan and Xie Zihan gave me cartilage powder and threw me off the fault cliff in the south."

Shen Jingxuan said it so bluntly that Old Man Shen's eyes widened.

"Can you say that again?"

Mr. Shen couldn't believe that the daughter of the second wife could be so cruel.

"Shen Jinghuan wants to marry Xie Zihan, and Xie Zihan wants to break off the engagement with me."

"They teamed up to throw me off the cliff. There's no point staring at me, believe it or not."

Shen Jingxuan thought that Mr. Shen didn't believe her, so she turned her face to the other side and ignored him after she finished speaking.

Seeing that Shen Jingxuan was unhappy about what he said, he did not explain.

Mr. Shen stared at her intently: "So you were thrown off the cliff and survived?"

Shen Jingxuan looked at Mr. Shen suddenly, and her heart became more and more flustered.

Was he discovered? Did he realize so quickly that he was not the original owner?

When she saw that Mr. Shen's face was calm and there was no fluctuation in his expression, she said "hmm" lightly.

Hearing the answer, Mr. Shen stared at Shen Jingxuan without blinking, as if to confirm whether her words were true or false.

Looking at her indifferent expression, Mr. Shen felt inexplicably distressed.

He remembered that a few years ago, when he took Old Madam Shen and the foolish little Xuan'er to the temple to burn incense, he met an enlightened monk on the way.

This person rarely reads other people's fortunes, but he took the initiative to read Xiao Xuan'er's fortune.

It has always been difficult to get a large sum of money, but this time I didn’t get a penny.

Mr. Shen knew that great monks only judge people based on their aptitude for romance, so he did not try to stop them at the time.

Believe it or not, letting things take their course is not necessarily a bad thing.

"Surviving a great disaster, the true body is coming, revitalizing the family, and ruling the world."

Old Master Shen recalled what the eminent monk said when he saw Shen Jingxuan, and told her one sentence at a time.

"Xuan'er, don't be afraid. The monk has already predicted that you will have a disaster when you are thirteen years old."

"It's just that your grandmother and I were delayed by something and missed the return time. I'm sorry that you have been wronged."

"You are still you. The current Xuan'er is the truly complete Xuan'er." Old Master Shen said several sentences in succession.

Shen Jingxuan looked at him without blinking.

She didn't believe in the divinations of great monks, nor did she believe in the uncertain future.

I just think this saves me a lot of trouble, and I don’t have to figure out how to explain why I fell off a cliff and still lived.

Mr. Shen did not ask her what happened when she fell off the cliff.

Shen Jingxuan didn't mention it either. The two of them acted as if nothing had happened and no one spoke of it.

When she walked out of the room, Shen Jingxuan's mind was still echoing with Mr. Shen's words.

My father died in the battlefield three years ago. When the news came back, even my grandfather, who had always been in good health, almost collapsed.

Later, my grandparents often went out of the house, sometimes not returning for several months.

At that time, I was less than ten years old and still a fool, so naturally I didn't think that the matter was unusual.

My grandfather said that my father had been fighting on the battlefield for many years, so how could he die in such a small confrontation? He thought it was strange.

They wanted to find the soldiers who went on the expedition with them and find out what happened, but they had not found any useful information after all these years.

This matter has always been a knot in the heart of my grandparents. After all, my father is their only child.

Although the second house was also a member of the Shen family, it was because the grandmother was away that the maid climbed into the grandfather's bed and gave birth to Shen Jiande.

The maid died soon after giving birth to Shen Jiande, leaving behind only Shen Jiande.

While thinking about what her grandfather had just said, Shen Jingxuan walked towards her Yuxuan Courtyard.

When she arrived at the entrance of Yuxuan Courtyard, she saw the maid walking back and forth anxiously inside.

Hearing the footsteps, the maid looked up and her eyes lit up: "Miss?"

"Miss, you're finally back. I was scared to death," she said and then she started to cry.

Shen Jingxuan found it funny to see the maid crying and gasping for breath in front of her. She remembered this maid.

Chuntao was a maid who grew up with him, and her parents also worked in the mansion.

She liked to follow him when she was a child. She never despised Shen Jingxuan for her stupidity and served her wholeheartedly.

But because of her loyalty, she has been bullied and harassed by Shen Jinghuan in the past two years.

She was originally a lively and cheerful person, but she was forced to restrain herself and become steady in doing things.

"Aren't you back now? You're crying so ugly. If you cry again you won't be able to get married." Shen Jingxuan poked Chuntao's forehead with her hand and walked straight past her into the house.

Chuntao seemed to be frozen in place, standing motionless in the yard. Even when Shen Jingxuan walked into the house, she still stood there without any reaction.

"Have you cried yourself silly?" Shen Jingxuan smiled helplessly.

"Why are you still standing there? Your young lady is dying of thirst." As the voice fell, Chuntao ran towards him.

Before Shen Jingxuan could sit down, Chuntao hugged her tightly.

"Miss, are you okay? Are you really okay?" Chuntao's tears, which had just been held back, began to flow again.

"Does your young lady look like something's wrong?" Shen Jingxuan looked at Chuntao who was holding her.

My eyes followed his cheek to my clothes. I didn't know if it was tears or snot, but my clothes were wet.

"I really can't get married if I cry."

"I won't marry. I will always follow the young lady." After hearing what Shen Jingxuan said, Chuntao's face turned slightly red.

"You follower, go and get your young lady some water. She's dying of thirst." Chuntao's face suddenly turned red.

Shen Jingxuan turned around and sat on the chair. She didn't know what was wrong with her. When she saw Chuntao, she couldn't help but want to tease her.

"Miss, the water is here," Chuntao's happy voice came from outside the door.

Shen Jingxuan watched Chuntao busying around without disturbing her.

Chuntao seemed to be still not awake from her excitement. She stood beside and looked straight at Shen Jingxuan. Seeing that she was no longer stupid, she was even happier than Shen Jingxuan.

Shen Jingxuan's mood also improved.

She took the porcelain bowl handed to her by Chuntao, drank several bowls of water in a row, and then slowly put it down.

"Miss, please take a rest for a while. I will call you when the meal is ready." Chuntao saw that Shen Jingxuan was tired, packed up her things, turned around and walked out of the room, closing the door.

Shen Jingxuan lay on the bed, looking at the furnishings in the room, and couldn't help frowning.

There was only a bed, a simple set of tables and chairs, and a worn-out dressing table in the room, she searched her memory and found out.

After her father died in the war, the people in the second house moved away everything they liked. Except for the bed, all the remaining things were found by Chuntao.

She couldn't help but think of her dressing table in her previous life, which she had carefully selected...

With a "bang" sound, Shen Jingxuan suddenly opened her eyes.
