Chapter 33: Hearing the Wind and Snow Again

Chapter 33: Hearing "Wind and Snow on Pine Trees" Again

It’s the fifteenth day since arriving at Jin Xiang Zong.

It is also a farewell day.

Early that morning, the sound of a pipa was heard from Fenghe Cottage.

After the piece was finished, Yunqi clapped his hands and praised, "The attainments of Jiangnan music are indeed very high."

The song "Wang Hui's Song of Thanks to the Teacher" carefully selected by Jiangnan Jing has a melodious and crisp melody, delicate string sounds, and sometimes the bass is rippling like sobbing, as if it is sad about the parting, and sometimes the high notes are bright like laughter, as if it is happy about having learned the skills.

Yunqi sighed, "It's much higher than anything else."

Jiangnan was ashamed and couldn't raise his head.

Yunqi then said, "This is the song Wang Hui thanks his teacher, right? My mother is also good at the pipa, but my father likes the qin, so my mother often plays the qin. I don't often hear her play the pipa."

Jiangnan replied, "It turns out that both my uncle and aunt are masters of music."

Yunqi waved his hand, "I'm not a great man. I have nothing to do in my spare time, so I just cultivate my sentiments."

Then, as if remembering something, he asked again, "What song did you use to attack the thin Taoist priest that day? I haven't heard it before. It sounded very fierce, like a bird of prey fighting in the sky. I have never heard it before."

Jiangnan replied, "It is the song of the Haiqing playing the swan, a song from the north before the Yuan Dynasty."

Yunqi nodded, no wonder.

Nan Jing looked at the pipa in his hand and said:
"In fact, I also like the zither, but the zither is more about meaning rather than skills, and it is much more difficult to practice, so I usually use the pipa as a protective object."

Yunqi saw that the surface of his pipa was yellow and greasy, the color was like apricot flesh, and the texture was like ivory, so he asked, "What material is your surface made of?"

"It is the yellow sandalwood, which is taken from Qiongzhou Island. The texture of sandalwood is tight and dense, suitable for music, and has beautiful patterns, so it is also called music wood. The same is true for paulownia wood, so most of the famous pipa and zither in the world are made of sandalwood and paulownia."

Yunqi nodded, he knew all this too.

"But I heard that there is a famous zither in the world, which is neither sandalwood nor phoenix, but it is also ranked among the top ten famous zithers. Does my benefactor know about it?"

Yunqi shook his head.

"It is said that there was a famous zither maker in Shu, the Lei family, who had been famous since the Sui and Tang dynasties. The zithers made by the Lei family were called Leiqin, which was unique.

"The Lei family has been making zithers for generations, and there are more than ten famous masters. The ten most famous zithers today, "Jiuxiao Huanpei", "Dasheng Yiyin", "Feiquan Baipu", "Ku Mu Longyin" and "Cai Feng Mingqi", are all Lei zithers.

“Most of the famous zithers are made of paulownia wood, but there is a fairy craftsman in the Lei family who became famous during the heyday of the Tang Dynasty. He is Master Lei Wei and is also honored as the Thunder Fairy.

"Leixian never sticks to one style when making zithers, and he often has fantastic ideas, so he is called a fairy craftsman, and the zithers he makes are called fairy products. Currently, four of the ten famous zithers that have been verified to be made by him are from his hand. The other famous zithers that are said to be made by him are either unverified or far-fetched, so they cannot be counted for the time being.

"The 'Nine Heavens Ringing Pendant', 'Great Sage's Sound' and 'Colorful Phoenix Mingqi' mentioned just now are all immortal products. But in addition to these three immortal products, there is also a zither made by the Thunder Immortal among the ten famous zithers, which is known as a rare treasure among the immortals."

As he spoke, Jiang Nanjing seemed to be immersed in it, and said:
"That was the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, when Lei Xian was famous all over the world. Master Lei had a close friend, the dragon species Green Chi. One winter, the mountain was covered with snow, and Lei Xian and Green Chi were drinking and singing in the mountain. As Lei Xian's close friend, Green Chi was naturally also a master of music, and after getting drunk, he asked Lei Xian to make a zither for him.

"Lei Xian agreed happily. The two of them were drinking in the pine forest. Lei Xian picked up his axe and wandered in the snowy forest. Whenever he saw a pine tree with a strange appearance, he would stop under the tree and listen to the sound of the wind blowing through the pine trees.

“After selecting in this way, I found an old pine tree that made a long and melodious sound in the wind, like weeping and complaining. Then I cut down the pine tree and made a zither.

"The zither was made in the style of Fuxi, and was named "Heavenly Wind and Pine Snow."

Jiangnanjing shook his head, as if he were in a snowy mountain pine forest. Yunqi was shocked!
It turned out to be "Tianfeng Songxue"!
Inside the Sanqing Mountain, in the Songlu Lake, there is a young green dragon. On the bottom of the ancient zither it is cherishing is written four characters written in seal script: “天风松雪”!
The green chi is young, so it can't be a close friend of the Thunder Immortal. So how did it come to Sanqing Mountain? What is the relationship between the green chi, a close friend of the Thunder Immortal, and the young species of Songlu Lake? Where is he/she?

Yunqi was excited, but his face remained calm. He asked curiously, "'Heavenly Wind and Pine Snow' is so special. I really want to hear the immortal music. When was the last time 'Heavenly Wind and Pine Snow' was played in the world?"

Jiang Nanjing shook his head. "'Tian Feng Song Xue' has not appeared in the world for a long time, but I heard that there was a big battle in Shuzhong sixty years ago. It was the Shuzhong Taoist sect that surrounded and suppressed a green dragon. I don't know if it was the owner of 'Tian Feng Song Xue'."

Yunqi's heart was shaken again, and he only said,
"I see."

After a song and some small talk, two sturdy servants of the Jiang family came to the cottage carrying a wooden box.

The servant opened the wooden box.

Yunqi took a quick glance and saw that the box was filled with not the snails he had expected, but piles of arrow blanks with hollow arrow shafts and no restrictions on the arrow shells!

The clouds look towards the scenery south of the Yangtze River.

Jiang Nanjing was a little nervous. "My benefactor, you don't know that my family is engaged in the business of talisman arrows. The small snails that the master wants are almost useless except for making talisman arrows. Naturally, we guessed what you were thinking. Don't worry, my family's business is not big, but these things are really a drop in the bucket, and they are not expensive gifts. I just hope you don't mind or blame me."

Yunqi let out a long breath, not knowing what to say. This Jin Xiang Zong was so extravagant, was it the gold of the five elements or the gold of money? !
I even deconstructed the thin Taoist's talisman arrow and took "Autumn Water" into account. Everything was ready, except for the conch. But others had already prepared everything.

It’s like putting so much effort into making a delicious meal, but you just don’t have salt. You ask someone to borrow salt, but they’re so generous that they just bring you a table full of dishes!

The feeling is really weird.

Yunqi bowed to express his gratitude, then used his magic power to pull the wooden box over. When the box was close to the cave stone on his wrist, it suddenly disappeared, as if it had fallen into an unknown space.

"I'm sorry for bothering you recently. I'll take my leave now."

Yunqi said to Nan Jing.

Nanjing nodded and led the clouds out.

At the ferry crossing on the Mingguangtang Lake, Jiang Yanxing, Jiang Yuexing and his wife, and Taoist Master Xianjing were all there.

The clouds bowed and said goodbye one by one, and called out the "Dragon Chariot".

Jiang Yanxing stepped forward and handed over something, which was a jade slip.

"Since the Taoist priest insists on not letting us see you off, please accept this. This is a map of Poyang Lake, which records the territorial boundaries of various clans and families, as well as the markings of secret places and dangerous areas. The Taoist priest is a senior disciple of Mount Sanqing, so he is naturally not afraid of being questioned by clans and families, but there are some secret places that require one not to risk one's life. Please accept this."

Yunqi accepted it, and felt that Jin Xiangzong had something extraordinary in mind, as he was able to survive on Poyang Lake until today.

After putting away the jade slip and bidding farewell to everyone, Yunqi boarded the "dragon car" and rode the clouds to the south. He was originally going west to the Southern Wasteland, so now he naturally went back south to his original place and then went west again.

Poyang Lake was extremely vast. When he came here, a master of the second realm brought him here on the wind. Now he was returning alone on a cloud, and it took him four or five hours after the many detours.

The cloud returned to the place where Jiangnan Jing met the thin Taoist priest. Seeing that there was no one around, he put away the cloud rack and dived into the lake.
