Chapter 37: Doubts

Chapter 37: Doubts
There is a moon tonight, a silver moon with a purple haze, like a round disk.

Under the moonlight, Ivan came to old Orr's home. What caught his eyes was a tragic battle scene. Most of the house showed signs of burning and destruction. It was indeed not like the method used by a knight. No wonder old Orr was left with no body left.

He took a deep breath and imprinted the scene in front of him in his mind, feeling both respect and admiration for the wizard's methods.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the Bat Eye Clinic.

The door of the clinic was casually open, and the place above where the plaque was hung was empty.

Ivan looked around and found that the plaque was on the steps on one side of the door, where he often ate his lunch. The plaque had a crease and was about to break in two.

He came to the clinic and found only the medicine shelf, broken glass and medicine crumbs all over the floor. Everything else had been cleared out.

Looking at these familiar rooms, he thought of how he had tried every means to learn alchemy from Old Orr and how he had competed with Jiusiti. All these scenes were vivid in his mind. Since coming to this world, he and Old Orr had stayed longer than Lede, and humans were not plants or trees.

"Made!"

Ivan cursed irritably, not knowing who he was cursing, but he just couldn't calm down.

With one last glance, he hurried out of the empty clinic, thought for a moment, then picked up the almost broken plaque before going home.

a new day.

In the morning, Ivan came to Kasha Fencing Hall.

Strength: 2.9, Agility: 2.2, Constitution: 3.1, Spirit: 1.4
Over the past three days, the effects of the two potions had been exhausted, giving him 0.1 points of strength and physique, with everything else remaining unchanged.

It is not difficult to conclude that the fifth azure potion will inevitably lose its effect.

His physique exceeded the standard of quasi-knight 3 scales, but he still could not sense the existence of the seed of life. He did not know why. Perhaps 3.1 scales were not the limit of his physique, perhaps the life energy extracted by the basic breathing method was not pure, perhaps it was the side effect of the secret breathing medicine, and so on. All were possible.

"Brother Ivan, I haven't seen you for several days."

"Hey Donnie."

Donny came over to say hello the first thing he did when he entered the martial arts arena. Everyone knew that he had a good relationship with Ivan. After Ivan showed his powerful strength, more people took the initiative to talk to him than before, which made him a little proud.

Ivan asked, "How did your test go?"

"No qualifications." Donnie was not disappointed. Instead, he said, "Fortunately, I don't have any. I have finally understood that practicing in that area is too dangerous. It is better to practice fighting spirit honestly."

Ivan was surprised and asked, "Why do you say that?"

Donnie said, "You may not know this, but a lot of people from the previous group have died. I suspect there are only a few left. Look, the black ship is here, and it's parked at the dock we visited."

Ivan's heart moved, it seemed that it was the people on the ship who killed old Orr.

He came to the fencing hall mainly to see if there was any news about Donny. As for whether to accept Kasha's invitation, he had not made a decision yet, so he did not stay long.

Afterwards, he deliberately ran to the vicinity of the dock and came to the parapet where he and Donnie had watched last time. Sure enough, the black ship engraved with mysterious patterns was there, occupying the area on the east side of the dock.

"It's called 'Lahr'. It's made of blackwood that has been buried in the swamp for thousands of years. Isn't it beautiful?"

Just as Ivan was looking at the black ship in the distance, a voice suddenly sounded in his ears, but he did not notice when there was someone behind him.

He turned his head quickly and his face changed color.

I never thought that the person behind me was not a person, but a slender green snake flying in the air. The snake had a pair of white wings, and the words just now came from its mouth.

Ivan instinctively replied, "Yes."

The little green-winged snake continued, "Actually, it has another name - Swamp Spade. Which one sounds better, Lar or Swamp Spade?"

This tendency is obvious, isn't it? Ivan is unsure of the snake's temper, so he tries to say, "Lar."

The little green-winged snake's tone became happier: "Human boy, you have good taste. I really want to introduce you to be my apprentice. What's your name?" Ivan: "Rosaid."

"Mr. Roside, you really have good taste. See you next time."

The little green-winged snake nodded its head, flapped its white wings and flew forward at a very fast speed, heading exactly where the black ship was.

Is this the wizard's familiar?
Knights must learn riding skills when they are laying the foundation of their training, but it is rare to see knights who have special beasts as mounts. Most of them are horses, or at most horses of different bloodlines, such as the dragon-mane horse which is said to have the blood of an earth dragon, and the scaly horse which has the blood of a sea beast.

Without exception, these mounts cannot speak.

"No wonder wizards are mysterious."

After the false alarm, Ivan didn't dare to stay any longer for fear of being seen by other things.

As for revenge for Old Orr, he thought it through clearly last night. No matter how big his stomach is, he can eat as much as he can. It would be better to keep his body useful and pay tribute to Old Orr during festivals. He was clear about this.

Then he came from the south to the west of the city.

"Isn't this Mr. Ivan?"

"I haven't seen you for a long time. I miss you very much, dear Mrs. Halaya."

Mrs. Halaya did not look favorably upon Ivan's arrival, because he had left in a hurry and forgot to come over to say a word, causing Mrs. Halaya to wait for a long time but no one came to class.

Mrs. Halaya said in a serious tone: "Mr. Ivan, imparting knowledge is a very serious matter. You can't just leave without saying hello, do you know?"

Ivan said, "I'm sorry, my father's mercenary group received an urgent mission. Due to the urgency of the time, there was no time to gather more people. I could only go with them. I didn't have time to come and say hello."

In fact, he really forgot.

However, for women, no matter how old or where they are, a little coaxing can resolve many conflicts and it is cost-effective.

He immediately told her about the mercenary group's mission and picked out some interesting things to tell Lady Halaya to ease her expression.

"You are truly impressive for helping your father escape from the Black Mist Forest at night. You are a fearless hero."

"Your praise makes me ashamed."

"Mr. Ivan, if your father still has any tasks, you might as well help him. It would be best if you could go on a long journey as soon as possible. Flying Fish Harbor has been very uneasy recently."

After coming out of the villa, Ivan was still thinking about Mrs. Halaya's last inexplicable words, as if reminding him to pay attention to something.

I thought about the last test and the black ship docked at the pier.

He vaguely guessed a possibility, wouldn't it be to let him be an apprentice to a wizard? But isn't this exactly what he wants? Donnie's words came to his mind, death is still death, which shows the danger.

Ivan felt a little uneasy and decided to go to the mercenary group's base to ask his father.

When he was about to walk out of the west of the city, a small group of guards came running from behind. He thought they were going to carry out some mission, so he quickly dodged to the side, but the guards stopped when they ran to his side.

The leading guard captain, Poker, asked, "Isn't that Evan Marichatton?"

Ivan noticed that the other person had his portrait in his hand and nodded.

The captain of the guard said, "Baron Karl wants to see you."

Ivan had a bad feeling and couldn't help but say, "I was sweating all over just now. Can you allow me to go back and change into more decent clothes?"

The captain of the guard said, "Mr. Ivan, don't forget that your family is in Flying Fish Harbor."

What a threat!
Ivan looked at the captain deeply and motioned him to lead the way.
