Chapter 45 Boarding the Black Ship
Chapter 45 Boarding the Black Ship
Not long after, a dusty young man was invited to join Ivan and his team.
Baron Karl asked someone to notify the people on the ship.
An apprentice in a grey robe walked out from the deck of the black ship, stood behind the railing and looked down at everyone.
This gray-robed man brought an inexplicable sense of oppression, making the young men dare not look at him for too long.
Ivan also had a serious look on his face. This man gave him a very dangerous feeling. If there were no other apprentices on the ship, this man must be the murderer of old Orr.
"Come up."
"Go up quickly, remember to be obedient and practice well, and don't cause trouble for Mr. Ecks and Lord Lal, understand?"
The man in gray robes agreed, and Baron Carl motioned Ivan and others to board the ship first, and gave them a few warnings in a serious tone.
"Understood, Baron." There were eight people in total who were tested for wizarding qualifications. The one who spoke was a young man from an aristocratic family named 'Laurie'. Laurie was the first to step on the pedal and board the black ship.
The others followed him onto the deck of the black ship, including Ivan.
In addition to the man in gray robe, there were three other people on the deck, dressed like adventurers. They should be followers or guards on the ship.
Roseside and others also came to the deck. The two groups of teenagers stood on each side, clearly separated.
No one dared to act rashly without the order from the man in gray robe.
"Take them to where they should go."
Ivan and his eight companions were led to the room on the first floor of the deck, while Roseside and others would enter the cabin below the deck. Their status and treatment were obviously different.
A small green snake flew down from the second floor, its eyes swept over the two groups of people and stopped on Ivan.
"Hey Roseside, I didn't expect you to actually come. Welcome aboard the Lar."
Ivan was still wondering in his heart whether he would encounter the winged snake pet that day.
I'm really afraid of what's coming!
He smiled awkwardly and nodded slightly, but his heart was in his throat.
Somehow, he felt that this magical pet was more dangerous than the gray-robed apprentice, which could be guessed from the baron's previous address.
On the other side, Roseside thought he had heard it wrong and was a little confused.
The little green-winged snake smiled and said, "Go ahead. The Lar will be leaving soon. We'll talk when we get to Lar Island."
Hearing this, Ivan breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly followed his entourage. Everyone entered from the stern into a larger bedroom with a door but no windows.
The most eye-catching thing in the bedroom is a large bunk bed against the wall, similar to a kang, with both ends leaning against the wooden wall. There are neatly stacked beddings on the bed, and opposite is a long table made of wooden boards. There is nothing else, not even a chair.
If nothing unexpected happens, this is the room they will stay in during the voyage.
There were several noble sons among the group of eight people. Many of them frowned when they entered the door, but due to the power of the man in gray robe, no one dared to complain.
Laurie took a few steps forward and stood in front of everyone: "Laurie, my name is Laurie Regoli, from the Regoli family. We must be brothers and sisters in the future. I think it is necessary for us to get to know each other so that we can communicate more easily."
"Laurie is right, I'm Fink, Fink More, from the More family."
"Green, the Tugart family."
"Charlene, Martin's."
The three boys and one girl all came from noble families, so they couldn't help but feel more confident when they spoke.
Seeing that no one spoke, Laurie looked at the girl in the green dress in confusion: "Jiusiti, it's your turn."
Jiusiti was not interested in Laurie, and pouted her lips and said, "Jiusiti, the Gladden family."
Ivan had heard of the Glatton family and the Regoliga family. The two families were nobles in the city of Flying Fish Harbor. The former was a baron and the latter was a viscount. They were also officials in the government office. The other three families should be noble families outside Flying Fish Harbor.
Laurie asked, "What about you?" "Ivan."
"Thomson."
"F-Fern."
Like Ivan, the remaining two were commoners, and it could be seen from their clothes that the children of nobles were more particular about their clothes, and ornaments with emblems could always be seen inadvertently.
Laurie nodded with satisfaction and continued, "Now that everyone knows each other, I am very happy to meet you all. I am alone outside and have no one to rely on. I think it is necessary for us to unite and help each other—"
"Cough cough."
Ivan coughed loudly, interrupting the man's speech.
He really didn't know what this Laurie was thinking. He actually put on an attitude of a leader right from the start. Perhaps he was imitating the scene when the elders in his family held a banquet, trying to win over some people to work for him.
"The boat is about to move, everyone should find a seat first to avoid conflicts." He glanced at the large bunk bed and directly chose the seat closest to the door.
Seeing him so arrogant, Lowry was very unhappy and shouted, "Wait, your name is Ivan, right? Don't you know that you can't interrupt others before they finish speaking? Where is your manners, or are you common people without manners?"
Ivan was not used to him: "That's enough. I'm sure everyone knows what happened this time. Everyone's future is uncertain and they can't protect themselves, so how can they have the energy to help others?"
What's more, if they were really important descendants of noble families, they would not be sent on board. These people are nothing but abandoned children. What's the point of using them?
He looked around at everyone, and no one showed any surprise, which meant that they all knew some information and knew that this trip was dangerous.
Jiushiti also disliked him and agreed, "That's right, you're not thinking of staying quiet even after coming here. Don't let us get involved if something goes wrong."
"It is precisely because there is danger that we must unite. Only when we have strength can we fight back - fight back -" Lowry naturally would not say what was really in his mind. He wanted to defend himself but couldn't express himself clearly. There were some things he didn't dare to say out loud.
No one wanted to hear his long speeches.
Everyone chose their seats, and Jiushiti, ignoring the surprise of others, took the seat next to Ivan.
"Ow."
At the Flying Fish Harbor Pier, as the giant turtle paddled its four legs, the black ship created a wave and began to leave the east coast.
On a parapet outside the dock, the four brothers and sisters of the Marichatton family were watching this scene and watching the black ship set sail.
"Brother Ivan is leaving."
"Yeah, he'll be a wizard next time he comes back."
"I really hope Ivan comes back safely."
Padge suddenly looked up and stared at Beeman. It sounded like it would be difficult to return safely. Was there any big danger?
"Ahem." Beaman realized he had said something wrong and quickly explained, "I mean it's not safe to travel in the sea. There are sea beasts and storms. You may also encounter ferocious sea creatures. No, I said it's possible. It's just a little bit possible."
It would have been better if he didn't explain. After hearing this explanation, Ivan felt like he was going through a life-and-death experience.
This made Padgy even more worried, and she lowered her head in depression.
Biman slapped his own stinky mouth, and looked at Paul beside him for help. Paul was staring at the black ship going away, ignoring the conversation between the two.
Beeman glanced at Sean and walked past him, turning his head to look at the corner not far away. He knew that Led was standing there.
Ivan refused to let them see him off, but in fact his whole family followed him after he left the house.
"gone."
Hearing Paul's words, Beeman and Paige looked over and saw the black ship disappearing at the end of the sea.
