Chapter 94 Death has no life
Chapter 94 Ten Deaths and No Life
There are several islands in the center of Yunmengze Lake. The pavilions and statues of Confucius on them are hundreds of years old.
The pond in the Juxian Garden seemed to be a smaller version of the Yunmeng Lake. There was a small pavilion in the center of the clear pond. Inside the pavilion stood a yellow stone statue that looked very familiar, and was exactly the same as the statues of the Three Immortals of Fortune, Longevity and Happiness that I had seen before:
The splendidly dressed Ziwei Tianzun,
The small-sized Emperor Wenchang, the Eternal Food God,
The hunchbacked immortal of Antarctica.
The bases under the feet of the three statues, old, middle-aged and young, are connected together. I think they are carved from the same huge stone and placed in this pavilion.
"Okay... where would that old guy Ji Bochang hide his money?" Ning Zhe came to the pond, stood next to a few asparagus ferns and looked forward. He saw a pool of clear water without any fish. At a glance, he could see a layer of round stones on the bottom of the pond, which was extremely cute.
He folded his hands across his chest, leaned against the bamboo beside him, and stared at the three immortal statues in the pavilion. His eyes fell on the face of Ziwei Tianzun, who brought him infinite blessings.
"Be careful." Suddenly, a hand gently pressed down on Ning Zhe's shoulder, and Lan Shiwen's voice came from behind: "Don't move."
Ning Zheyi remained silent and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Stand up straight before you speak."
"it is good."
Ning Zhe stood up and looked back. Lan Shiwen was standing behind him, his index finger silently pointing at the asparagus fern he had just leaned against.
Looking in the direction of Lan Shiwen's finger, I saw a round hole caused by insect bites on the dark green and yellow bamboo node. Two straight cracks extended up and down from the hole in the dry bamboo fiber.
"After 11 seconds, the bamboo will be crushed by your weight, and a sharp piece of bamboo will burst out from the cracked bamboo joint, and pierce your heart directly from behind due to inertia," said Lan Shiwen. "Then you will die."
"What the hell." Ning Zhe said with a sigh, "Thanks."
"No, because I saw you resurrect after you died." Lan Shiwen said indifferently: "Let's go and see if there are any clues first."
Ning Zhe nodded and walked with him to the pavilion in the center of the pond.
"If we want to find the money that Ji Bochang hid here, we must first ask ourselves a question." Lan Shiwen said as he walked: "Just imagine - if you were Ji Bochang, where would you hide your inheritance?"
"No, I think we should change the question."
Ning Zhe shook his head and said, "Before looking for the inheritance, I first need to know - if you are Ji Bochang, why did you hide the inheritance?"
If you have money, why hide it instead of using it to buy your life?
"Because they can't afford it." Lan Shiwen pondered, "Ji Bo has bought his life from the God of Wealth more than once. You know, only those who meet the God of Wealth for the first time can trade with him at a 1:1 cost price. For each subsequent transaction, the price will double."
Ji Bochang had been the God of Wealth for 40 years. There was no doubt that he had accumulated a huge amount of wealth, but the speed at which he accumulated money to buy his life was far less than the exponential growth of the transaction price.
"In other words, the same amount of money may not even be enough to buy a life in Ji Bochang's hands. But in the hands of a new customer who has never met the God of Wealth, it may be enough to short the God of Wealth." Lan Shiwen came to the conclusion.
His explanation was reasonable, but it was not what Ning Zhe wanted.
"You know that's not what I'm asking." Ning Zhe sighed and continued, "As you said, Ji Bochang is an old lunatic who harms others and does not benefit himself. He has no way out, so he wants to drag everyone in Yundu City into hell to be buried with him."
"Ji Bochang's character can be summed up in one sentence: 'I don't care about the flood after I die.'"
"Why would such a self-centered person leave behind something like a 'legacy'? To whom does he want to leave the money he saved to buy his life?"
Lan Shiwen did not answer his question, but silently stretched out a hand to stop Ning Zhe from going forward. "What's wrong?"
"One more step and you'll die."
"Fuck." Ning Zhe was amused: "How did he die this time?"
"I don't know." Lan Shiwen looked a little strange: "I only saw you die in front of me. You didn't come into contact with anything, and you didn't get hurt at all. You died suddenly on the spot without any warning."
Finally, he added: "After you died, the pistol in your arms fell to the ground and accidentally went off, killing me. One bullet shot me in the head."
"Impossible." Ning Zhe shook his head: "The safety of my pistol should be locked. It won't go off even if it falls to the ground."
Lan Shiwen smiled: "Just take a look, isn't it?"
Ning Zhe took out the pistol from his arms and saw that the safety on the right side was indeed on: "How could it be...?"
"You thought you locked the safety, but you didn't. You forgot." Lan Shiwen said as he took out the 2011 from his arms and checked the safety: "Keep going."
Ning Zhe hesitated for a few seconds, then took a step forward and continued walking forward.
They have known for a long time that there are ghosts in Juxian Garden.
In just a few minutes after entering the mansion, Ning Zhe died twice. Once, his heart was pierced by a broken bamboo joint, and once he died suddenly out of nowhere. Even Lan Shiwen was killed by the pistol he dropped, and it happened to be a shot in the head...
Everything is so coincidental, exuding an indescribable weird atmosphere.
If Lan Shiwen had not relied on his ability to predict the future to avoid crises time and time again, if it were anyone else, even other upgraded beings, who entered the Juxian Garden, they would have had no choice but to die due to lack of preparedness.
"Is there a limit to the number of times you can use your ability to predict the future?" Ning Zhe asked as they walked.
They can now stroll leisurely in the Juxian Garden, all thanks to Lan Shiwen's ability to predict the future and avoid danger. However, there is a price to pay for the use of rules by the upgraded ones. Even with the mental stamp imitated by Taiyi to stabilize himself, Ning Zhe does not dare to drive Taiyi's rules at will.
There are many other people who have been promoted.
Once Lan Shiwen is frightened by the flaws in the rules and can no longer foresee the danger, the two of them can only grope for the rules in the chaos like headless flies, no different from blind people.
This seemingly quiet and peaceful courtyard has begun to reveal its horrific and brutal true nature.
"Don't worry." Lan Shiwen smiled at Ning Zhe: "I know my limits."
"Okay, then I believe you." Ning Zhe said as he took off his woolen coat, put it on the shore of the pond, and walked towards the water while taking off his clothes.
"What are you doing?" Lan Shiwen was stunned.
"It's a good day to take a bath today." Ning Zhe unbuttoned his shirt, poured the cold water over his well-defined naked upper body, and then said, "Take a bath, your luck will improve."
