Chapter 99: The Male President’s Idleness (2)
It was great to talk to Miss Moonlight this afternoon. I saw something interesting and had an excuse to go find Ariane.
"Cool dewdrops are flying." Aidan, who was standing under a big tree, waved his wand at the dewy grass. The dry grass leaves under his feet were instantly distinguished from the drooping leaves next to them.
Through the gaps between the lush branches and leaves above his head, Aidan observed the height and shape of the moon and estimated that it was around nine o'clock, which was exactly the time for Aryan to finish studying and go back to the dormitory.
Aidan knew Ellian's habits. She would find an empty classroom to study for an hour after the library closed. She usually chose a classroom in the same building as the Slytherin dungeon, and preferred the classroom on the second floor like the library.
"Expecto Patronus!" Aidan called out softly, and a silver-white eagle with a stream of light flew out from the tip of his wand. He stretched out his hand to call his patronus to land, and let the eagle pick up the sachet that Della asked him to bring to Ellian today. "Fly in through that window and bring Ellian over here."
The silver eagle tilted its head and flew towards the large open stone window on the second floor in the direction of Aidan's finger. Not long after it turned into the window, Aryan appeared at the window holding it. She followed the silver light of the patronus that had not yet dissipated, and immediately saw Aidan holding a blanket and smiling at her.
"......" She had just told him to keep her distance this morning. Ailian felt helpless. She looked at her boyfriend's bright smile but couldn't lose her temper. She could only nod at him, then poked the eagle head of Aidan's patronus and muttered, "I'm really obsessed with you."
When Ailian ran there, Aidan was sitting on the blanket that had been laid out, and when Ailian sat next to him, he put another small blanket on his girlfriend.
"You know it's cold now." Ailian gathered the blanket together, leaned next to Aidan, and said sarcastically.
"If it weren't so cold, we wouldn't be the only ones here right now." Aidan still had a smiling face. He held Alian in his arms. "And I didn't take the initiative to see you."
"You're so slick." Looking at the white eagle hovering above their heads, Aryan pinched Aidan, "If I had known earlier, I would have just taken the gift Della gave me."
"It's a thoughtful gift indeed. Just like you said, she's very nice." Aidan's big hands wrapped around Arlian's two slightly cold hands and kneaded them gently. "You've really worked too hard. You should relax a little."
"She, he, and it, as if these are the only pronouns you can say. It really surprises me that you can still keep the bad habit of not remembering names." Enjoying Aidan's hand massage, Aidan glanced at him.
"It's innate. I can't help it. Except for you, that snake asked me to remember the name. You can try to correct me, Alian." Aidan leaned close to Alian's neck, chuckled and took a breath, "For example, emphasize her name to me more when you go on a date with me. I'm a good learner. I've already memorized a D."
"Aidan, I've told you the reason." Aryan seemed a little helpless. She looked up at the eagle patronus standing on the treetops, which was constantly pouring silver light. "I've been practicing the patronus spell recently. If I were with you, I would definitely think of you."
"It's from our first meeting, and it's powerful too, Ariane." Aidan's gaze also fell on his patronus.
"I know, but my father said that it's not a good thing to pin your happiness on one person. It's not that I don't believe you, Aidan. We have known each other for twelve or thirteen years. My family and I know what kind of person you are. I just think what my father said is right." Aryan's voice gradually lowered.
"I know. It's just like what you said. Twelve or thirteen years ago, the Royya family also knew what the Linde family was like." Aidan didn't stop massaging Ailian. He moved his arms and held Ailian tighter.
"Oh, you are so considerate at this time. I would rather you quarrel with me." Feeling her boyfriend's actions, Ariane said angrily.
"Haha, this shows that you still care about me, Arlian." Aidan laughed softly. He raised their clasped hands in front of him. "It's good to stick to your principles, but don't avoid them too deliberately."
"So do you hope that my patronus is related to you?" Elian asked. She looked at the two people's tightly held hands, with no emotion visible on her face.
"If your happiness is related to me, and you are even an eagle like me, then of course I will be happy. This shows how much my princess loves me." Aidan fiddled with Aryan's hand, and interlocked their fingers with hers facing the moon. "If your happiness transcends a specific person, it means that I, a knight, have fallen in love with a steadfast person who will not change. As long as you are still Aryan, my patronus will be stronger."
"Princess and knight? Aidan, it's such a sentimental statement, but you still want to remind me of my childhood embarrassment. You are so mean." Alian smiled and threw herself on Aidan. Her hands rested on her boyfriend's strong chest. Her curly brown hair slid down a little because of her downward movement. "This princess has to punish you."
She bit her boyfriend's sexy jawline closely and carefully. Aidan tilted his neck back and stroked the back of Alian's neck. He exhaled twice, his voice a little hoarse, "What a hot punishment."
Lying on Aidan, Alian chuckled twice, and touched Aidan's neck with her slender fingers, "Why are you so accommodating to me?"
"Isn't the answer obvious? Because in front of you, I am a sincere and kind Hufflepuff." Aidan grabbed Aryan's hand, brought it to his lips and kissed it.
"Yes, a Hufflepuff with the heart of a Gryffindor and the Patronus of Ravenclaw." Aryan pressed the corner of Aidan's lips.
"And the love of Slytherin." Aidan stopped, his blue eyes half-closed, he lowered his voice and looked at Aryan teasingly, "So, can I have the honor of inviting the president to Hogsmeade before Halloween?"
"After we finish all the preparations for the party." Ailian did not refuse. After saying this, she lowered her head again and kissed Aidan.
While the young couple was in love, Della hurried past the stone window on the second floor. She had just safely ended her conversation with Dumbledore and was about to rush to Snape's office to help him skin and de-tend the hundred newly arrived tree lizards.
Aidan's words today gave her great inspiration. Before something can be guessed, a little 'flaw' is more reassuring than strict words.
Her recreated glasses, even with the power to see through her, are less than satisfying, as she actually strays from Dumbledore's subject.
The peephole detects the soul, while her modified glasses capture the mind. Although both can detect something, they are essentially different.
Della had expected Dumbledore to point this out, and had thought about how she should respond, and until she spoke to Aidan this morning, she thought she was fully prepared.
And being fully prepared was her biggest failure. Her preparation was based on her understanding of the soul and memory, but she went off topic even with some understanding, which aroused even more suspicion.
So she reviewed those principles again in the afternoon, separating what she should know from what she shouldn't know, and she just successfully demonstrated her age-appropriate confusion in front of the genius Dumbledore.
It's really dangerous. People of the same kind will unconsciously bring their own perspective into their thinking. It was obvious that Maggie fell into her conversation trap in this way. After the identities were switched, she became the one who couldn't see clearly.
But Dumbledore quite liked that work, so it was considered acceptable. The new assignment has not been assigned yet, so I should only need to process the materials for Snape before Halloween.
I heard from Maggie that the hourglass in the Shrieking Shack is almost done reacting, so let's study that next.
