The lich said as he turned around and grabbed the scroll he had just made from the table with his clawed hands.

"I promised you that I would use the limited wish to help your friend. I have already set up the words of the wish, and it should be able to completely restore the body of your dwarf friend."

Wang: “I’m not here to take this.”

"You came here to seek answers," Elzam interrupted, "and you have just heard the answers. If you don't believe me, you can confirm with your druid friend whether the land has become more fertile and richer after the destruction of the undead army."

Xiaobai was shocked: "Ah? I have only experienced 24 and a half complete season cycles, and even the army of undead creatures has only encountered this once. I don't know!"

The king stared at Elzam, and then found with regret that he did not have the ability to read the lich's true intentions from his skull.

No, even people like Rosalie and Elizabeth who are good at observing people's expressions and words wouldn't be able to do anything about a skeleton.

Especially when this skeleton deliberately controlled the emotions that flowed out of his speech.

Wang: "Will we be enemies in the future?"

Elzam: "Aren't we already enemies now?"

"But you didn't attack me."

"Because I was on guard against the knights who suddenly teleported here. They really did that." Elzam spread his hands. "Or, no matter how many people I kill, as long as I don't use force against you, you don't think I'm an enemy? Just because third-stage undead creatures can become friendly forces? Come on, be mature. There is no room for reconciliation between the living and the dead. We are naturally enemies. Even if one day in the future we will fight against a common enemy, it does not mean that we have become allies."

After saying that, Elzam threw the scroll in his hand toward the king.

"Take your scroll and let's go."

Wang took the scroll and turned to leave, but suddenly remembered something and turned back to say, "By the way, your soup spoon is really useful, thank you."

"Yeah, I'm glad you like it."

The king glanced at Xiaobai, and the druid immediately turned into a griffin.

The king mounted the griffin and leapt into the sky.

Elzam watched him go away, and suddenly said: "Of course the spoon is great. It was my favorite magic prop in my life."

After saying this, Elzam stopped looking at the king. The light in his empty eyes looked into the distance, as if it had passed through a long time and a vast space, and arrived at the moment when he truly died.

That is a story that only exists in unofficial history. It looks like the lousy work of some third-rate novelist, but the reality is undoubtedly that he is the lousiest writer in the world.

There is no such thing.

Even Elzam had no intention of opening the cover of the story again. Such a story should remain sealed forever until the moment when he was completely destroyed by the forces of justice and even his life box was rotted into many pieces.

**

After the griffin landed on the floating island, the king saw Mrs. Hasher among the people who came to greet him.

"You are alive!" he exclaimed.

Hasher: "I was also shocked. If I were given a choice, I would trade my life for the survival of even one child. However, Lancelot didn't want to kill an old woman like me. He wanted me to continue watching young people die tragically in front of me."

Wang: "It's good that you are here. This way, there will be someone to command the civilians who come to the island. Rosalie, how many civilians have been taken in now?"

Rosalie: "I haven't counted them carefully yet. Nini estimated that there are about two thousand people."

Wang: "It's such a big city, and now only two thousand people are running away?"

Hasher: "Most of them were killed by the undead army. Although the earthquake you caused destroyed the streets and various walls, making it easier for everyone to escape to the water, this undead army is too powerful. Not only are there common undead creatures such as skeletons, zombies and ghouls, but there are also ghosts, corpse witches and even black knights."

As soon as Hashir finished speaking, someone among the survivors shouted: "I saw a ghost passing through the youngest son of the Brown family. The young man immediately bled from all seven orifices and died. His body shrank rapidly, and only the skin remained smooth. The next moment he turned into a skinned skeleton soldier!

"Skeleton soldiers with skin! The skin is so loose that it looks like clothes hung on bones."

King: "That's a ghost, a spirit unit that can only be harmed by magic weapons."

Wang looked at Hasher and asked, "Do you think it will be useful if we continue to wait here?"

Hasher: "No. It's a great achievement to be able to save two thousand humans who are still breathing in the face of such an undead army. Take off, otherwise the people who have already landed on the island will not be able to rest in peace."

Wang: "Where should we go after we take off? There are no gargoyles in the Undead Army yet, but there should be one soon. We can't let our fate be decided by the evil creature in the middle of the Undead Army."

Hasher: "We should leave Shallow Water City as soon as possible. Undead creatures will be strengthened when entering a place where a large number of deaths have occurred. It doesn't matter where we go, we should leave as soon as possible."

Wang nodded: "I'll go to the control center now."

At this moment, Marika suddenly became alert: "Wait! There's a wanderer!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Nini pointed her bow at the shadows next to her: "Come out, my arrows can hit you even if I shoot blindly."

Four men wearing standard Shadow Thief armor stepped out from the shadows.

Wang: "Shadow Thief?"

"Yes, we came here to deliver a message, but ended up encountering this series of events. First of all, congratulations to the captain of the salvation team for obtaining the floating city. Without the floating city, I'm afraid we would not be able to survive the attack of the undead army."

The corner of Wang's mouth twitched. Since even the Shadow Thief thought so, it seemed that the blame this time was indeed entirely borne by the Undead Army.

Elzam eventually took on everything.

Wang: "Stop talking nonsense. What information? Could it be information about a lich attack? That would be too dark a joke."

"No, it was actually the intelligence obtained by the Isonzo branch and relayed by the headquarters. Isonzo has actually been completely controlled by Catalonia, and there are still a small number of Catalonia troops stationed there."

Wang nodded: "And?"

"Isonzo may be the birthplace of the Order. We have determined the location of the monastery in your frame, and underneath this monastery, there may be the remains of a huge research institute from the Cyclops era. We are sure that the Order's bishop, Casseplan, found it underground..."

Wang: "But the intelligence we have obtained shows that the bishop of the sect discovered Hamunaptra, the legendary city of dusk in Catalonia, while studying the 'living stone' in Catalonia, and obtained the relevant knowledge of Ragnola. And I personally suspect that he was possessed or taken over by something at that time."

Shadow Thief Captain: "This is interesting. But intelligence science requires cross-comparison. When we compare the intelligence we have obtained with the intelligence you have obtained, there is a key point that is consistent."

Wang: “What?”

"A living stone statue. No matter what, the next step is for you all to go to Yisongzuo, right?"

Without waiting for the king to answer, the shadow thief leader took out a cylinder decorated with a gold-plated hoop. Usually, this kind of cylinder is used to hold maps.

Shadow Thief Captain: "We have obtained a map of the interior of the Order, which not only marks the location of the monastery, but also the method of entering the Cyclops ruins under the monastery."

The members of the rescue team looked at each other in bewilderment.

Elizabeth: "We can't deal with the undead army for now. How about we just... follow the cult first and leave the undead creatures to the crusaders of the Orthodox Church to deal with?"

Wang thought about it and nodded: "That's right. We only have one priest now, and he's a dead priest. We have to do some work to revive him. It's really beyond our ability to deal with so many undead creatures. Let's leave professional matters to professionals."

Xiaobai: "Then our next target is Yi Songzuo! Let's go!"

Granny Hasher: "Although... we probably can't help much in saving the world, but we should be able to help build houses and tents."

Wang scratched his head: "Okay, I can't just send you off to die. Rosalie, you are now the manager of all of them."

Rosalie: "Leave it to me."

Wang: "Get ready for takeoff, time to depart!"

Li Guang folded his arms across his chest, looked in the direction of Yi Songzuo, and murmured: "This reminds me of the day many years ago when I set out for the monastery. My home is behind me, and the world is in front of me."

Postscript to Volume 3

The third volume is really full of surprises.

For example, the final descent, in theory, should be the final climax, to give everyone a good time. But when writing about the descent, when writing about the legionnaires being knocked over by the shock wave, I suddenly thought, is this the only power of such a large floating island falling from the sky?

Then I casually looked up some information and found that an asteroid with a diameter of ten kilometers was enough to cause the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Although the floating city doesn't fly that high and isn't that big in size, a free fall is no joke. Just flattening an embassy and causing a gust of air would be too easy.

So it turned into an earthquake.

There will be innocent casualties in earthquakes, right? So the protagonist's self-blame and guilt are arranged. By feeling these emotions, he should grow and further realize his responsibility to ordinary people, instead of just treating this as a test.

It would be natural to open up some new spells and even upgrade the protagonist's skills later.

In addition, when the protagonist was blaming himself and feeling guilty, Elizabeth also scored a lot of points - it was very logical, you know, the plot has progressed to this point, and it would be inappropriate not to write it this way.

The same was true for the part where Rosalie lost first blood. The emotions have been built up to this point. It has been decided that you two will perform crosstalk tonight - no, it will come to fruition.

Accidents like this are scattered throughout this volume.

For example, my original arrangement was that Odolf and Oga would come out first to fight the team, and then the team would rush to the embassy to fight against the Master and Kadia in order to close the portal.

But when I was designing the later part, I felt that there were two more seven-rings coming to fight, and the readers were tired of it and so was I, and I had made the protagonist’s right eyelid twitch before.

Originally, this twitching of the right eyelid should correspond to a major crisis. I arranged for the robots of the Cyclops Empire to be hunted down by a large number of robots, with their lives hanging by a thread.

Then I suddenly slapped my head and remembered something I wrote before: carrying six people. This was originally a joke, but when I was actually writing it, I found that it worked well here, so I couldn't help but mention it.

The burden has been shaken, the crisis is over, and it has become a child's play.

But this slogan that was established with great difficulty cannot be wasted. As long as the protagonist's right eyelid twitches, the protagonist group will inevitably face a serious crisis.

So the originally planned raid on the two mid-level bosses, Oga and Odolf, turned into a raid on the two final bosses.

I am personally quite satisfied with the sense of crisis created by this part.

As for how to deal with this crisis and how to fight against the nine-ring wizard with all the buffs, my original design was to let Elizabeth use the first-ring Charm Human.

There is a foreshadowing in the beginning, and it was done by our dear protagonist himself: he can bear the might of God, but he was defeated by Elizabeth's first ring of Charm Human. This shows that our Miss Elizabeth is really very charming, her Charm Human immunity DC is very high, and the recipient's immunity will be at a disadvantage, and the lower one will be taken on both dice.

With this foreshadowing, there's nothing strange about Elizabeth using Charm Human to deal with the enemy wizard, right?

But when I was writing it, I suddenly had a better idea: I could let Elzam come to the rescue! Judging from the time, it’s almost time for him to be resurrected.

After all, according to the book, Elzam's last death was almost a month ago.

At that time, I said through the character's mouth that if the lich was prepared, it might be resurrected in a few weeks.

And Elzam also said "I will come back", so isn't now the best time for him to come back?

So Elizabeth's Charm Human was saved.

If you think about it carefully, in order to highlight the special nature of the time when the king was enchanted by Elizabeth, in the future, Elizabeth's enchantment should be ineffective on other humans, and only successful on the king once.

All in all, the scene was changed into what it is now.

In order to avoid conflicts in the descriptions before and after, I went back to revise the chapters that had already been published.

So people who read this book closely may find it a bit confusing, but people who read a dozen chapters at a time will find it very smooth.

I am quite satisfied with the content of this third volume.

The protagonist's growth seems natural and smooth.

The villain Elzam’s character has also been established, and his character arc is very complete. The problem now is that I have to quickly write what happened when he was resurrected for the fourth time.
