Chapter 126 Disposal
Della and Ron played chess for a long time. Halfway through, Ron changed back to his original form, but they still finished the game before leaving.
After returning to the Slytherin common room, Della saw Draco waiting for her there as expected. She walked over, and although she was not in a good mood, she still patiently shared their day with him.
They chatted for about half an hour before Draco reluctantly let her go back to the dormitory.
Apart from the pile of gifts at the end of the bed, there was no change in the dormitory. However, Della felt unspeakable loneliness facing this small room that she had transformed and now had a sense of life.
She looked at the curtains she had opened in the morning, and walked to the window step by step in response to the bright green lake light projected through. Della tapped the thick glass twice with her slender fingers. Listening to the slightly dull "ding ding" sound, she suddenly clenched her fist and smashed the glass, causing the sound of impact and changing the direction of the water outside the glass.
However, in the huge Black Lake, this little shock could not cause any waves, and it soon disappeared without a trace, just like the fleeting collapse on Della's face. If Maggie on Della's shoulder had not been still swaying, it would really make people feel that nothing had just happened.
"Sorry, I lost my composure." Della helped Maggie up. The dark green light of the lake shone on her cold face, adding a bit of gloominess.
"......" Maggie was silent for a moment, his yellow eyes staring at Della's profile, and after a while he said slowly, "His-S-Ya (Do you need me to leave for a while)?"
Della is very vulnerable now, but people don’t need company all the time when they are vulnerable. Instead of asking her to pretend to be calm in front of others, it is better to give her a space to vent.
"Sa-ya (You know me very well)..." Della murmured. She squatted down and put Maggie on the ground, holding Maggie's snake face with one hand, "Ha-sia Sa-ya (I won't go there again. Whatever you want to do, as long as you feel you can control it)."
Della stroked Maggie's face twice. There was a kind of empty tenderness in her eyes, as if she was looking through Maggie at something else. "Xixi-Assa (Don't tell me the result. This research ends here. As for your expectations, I will find some other methods)."
For a moment, Maggie almost fell into Della's bottomless black eyes. He didn't answer, rubbed Della's hand gently, and went out.
After watching the last tip of Maggie's tail disappear through the crack in the door, Della turned her gaze back to the room. She walked to the desk, turned on the light, and waved her wand to close the thick curtains.
The light from the magic lamp on the desk cast a shadow on Della's face, making her already angular features look even more profound. She looked dimly at the bookshelf, staring at the titles of books with words like "Alchemical Life", "Forgery", and "Soul". Suddenly, she took a step forward and reached out to pull down the books one by one.
At the beginning, she was very calm and was able to stack the books neatly on the table. But when she had drawn about twenty books, her movements became noticeably faster. She no longer cared about whether the books were neat or not and just casually put them on the pile.
When the 40th book was put on the pile, the shaky pile of books finally couldn't hold up. The top few books slid to the ground along with the new one thrown on. Della, who was still pulling the books mechanically, looked over subconsciously.
She watched the books fall to the ground, bouncing slightly with a few muffled sounds. The sounds were like a switch being turned on. Della's expressionless face finally showed a look of collapse again. For the first time, her face became ferocious, and she suddenly pushed all the books on the table off.
For a moment, the dull sound of falling books colliding with each other echoed throughout the room, mixed with the rustling sound of pages turning. Several very old books fell apart in the process, and several pages of different sizes fluttered upwards, covering Della's bloodshot and still crazy black eyes.
The books from the past few months have to be put away, so what should be done with the results of these months?
The doll that looked like Della in the Shrieking Shack was still lying quietly in the moonlight. She looked no different from the day before, her face was still calm, and she looked like she was asleep.
After taking a good look at the puppet, Maggie told the snake he had brought to close the curtains while he went to light the lights, and although he could see at night, he still wanted to see more clearly next time.
Could it be hers?
Maggie felt a little nervous, with fear and anticipation surging up at the same time. These two contradictory emotions intertwined together, causing his snake body to tremble and venom to continuously drip out, but he still swam to the puppet in one breath.
As Maggie approached, the puppet's hair began to quickly turn blond and grow longer, its facial features began to move, and its entire body slowly grew larger. After two or three seconds, the puppet opened a pair of blue-green eyes.
It had a face that was 80% similar to Ron today, but with a bit more maturity and charm. It looked at Maggie immediately, opened its mouth twice, but finally said nothing.
"His-Sa (Don't you have anything to say to me)?" Maggie stared at the doll's face.
"You just want to hear her voice," the puppet said in an ethereal and soft voice. It suddenly gave Maggie a sweet smile. "You still want to see this, right, Maggie?"
"Hai-Xi (Ximena)..." Maggie was dazzled by the smile he hadn't seen for hundreds of years, and couldn't help muttering. However, the nostalgic look in his eyes did not stay for long and soon disappeared by itself.
The doll turned into the same appearance as Ximena before his death, but Ximena at that time would no longer smile like that.
"You know she doesn't want to live at all. If you know it so clearly, why bother coming here?" The puppet's face was still sweet and the tone of voice was very gentle, but the words he uttered were unusually cold.
"Xi-ya (I can tell you the second reason)," Maggie turned her snake face to the side, avoiding the puppet's eyes, "Hai-xiha-sa (It's not hard to see your transitional personality. In fact, we sentenced you to death last time. I just came here today to see if there will be any surprises)."
"What do you mean?" The puppet's expression gradually froze. This was the first time she asked a question beyond her mission.
"Xi-sass-hai (Your meaning is "life", and you know people's desire for the dead to "live", so you will not be anxious, and you will not use very coercive language to oppress the people in front of you)," Maggie noticed the change in the puppet's tone and turned his head back. He hissed in a very low voice, "Hai Xi-hashi (But your grasp of soul characteristics is limited to the individual that people expect you to become, so you don't know that in the creator's mind, not every valuable work should be completed)."
"But she has given me restrictions. I won't be a threat." The puppet frowned.
"Sa-Sahisa-Ya (So you are not a human yet, but a transitional personality whose mission is to "live". Even if you have become her, that's it)," Maggie swam to the doll's shoulder and looked down at the face that shouldn't have such a solemn expression, "Sa-Ya (She doesn't want to create another self)."
"I can be someone else." The puppet said anxiously.
"Hai-Xiah (No, no, you who just want to give birth now cannot understand her thinking about why she gave birth)," Maggie nodded and didn't explain any further, "Hai Ya (Also I want to thank you for letting me see the one I wanted to see)."
"His-A (although the first reason I came here was to see someone I wanted to see more)." Looking at the puppet's eyes that suddenly widened, Maggie's snake tail caressed the puppet's plump cheeks lovingly. He felt the place where the tail touched move, and at the same time, the clear moonlight enveloped them again.
The tail touching the puppet's face was Maggie's signal to open the curtains for the snake waiting by the window early in the morning.
However, the doll was still changing, and it seemed to be making its final struggle, but it only had time to take one last look at Maggie before closing its eyes unwillingly again.
It still looks like Ximena, but much more immature than before.
The puppet finally understood Maggie's expectations. He not only wanted to see the person he cared about, but also wanted to see her at her most vivid moment. This vividness would also be the puppet's most lethal weapon. Unfortunately, it let go of its arrogance too late.
"Hai-ya (she was seventeen years old)..." Maggie's pupils fluttered. He swam forward twice, but suddenly stopped. After being stiff for two seconds, he retracted his forward body.
"Hiss..."
Maggie murmured something at the end, and it was unclear whether she felt sorry for the puppet's late realization or something else, but she swam away decisively.
Like Della, he couldn't let the doll become the next tragedy in the form they cared about, but he also couldn't kill it based on the form it took.
Maybe he would come and take a look from time to time before the doll was completely destroyed by the moonlight, but that was all.
Just let it wear away slowly in the moonlight.
