The soul likes to move and is for life, while the spirit stays quiet and hopes for death. When the yin and spirit are completely refined, it will become pure yang."

"Master, perhaps I misunderstood before. Does Pure Yang mean to refine Yang to the extreme, or to completely eliminate Yin? If it means to completely eliminate Yin, isn't that a bit extreme?"

“First, although the Pure Yang Dao inherited from the Immortal Zhongli in our Mingzhi Mountain also requires refining Yin dregs, it has not yet reached the level of refining away the Yin soul and leaving only the Yang soul. Therefore, it is unknown whether the refining method of completely eliminating the Yin soul proposed in the Taiyi Jinhua Zongzhi was created by Lu Zu himself or by his descendants or disciples under his name.
“Secondly, as the saying goes, if you listen to both sides, you will be enlightened, but if you only believe in one side, you will be in the dark. The Pure Yang Dao is not the only true Dao. When I ask you to learn Pure Yang, I don’t mean that you should discard everything you have learned before and only keep Pure Yang.
"Third, Taiyi Jinhua Zongzhi is still an extremely profound code. Its discussion on Tianxin, Huiguang, Yuanshen and Shishen is full of pearls. The theory and practice method of the three treasures of Jing, Qi and Shen, which are based on the five elements to form the three phases of Jingshui, Shenhuo and Yitu, are unique. I think this method alone can be used to establish a school. Even the method of teaching how to refine the Yin spirit in the book is mysterious and infinite. Although you don't have to practice it, you can also learn from it. At least you can refine the three souls and seven spirits and eliminate the Yin private thoughts.
"The fourth is that our method of nurturing corpses and souls at Meiji Mountain tends to be yin, which is not good for the mind or the body in the long run. Therefore, the Pure Yang Method is more like a method of self-protection for the disciples of Meiji Mountain. With a pure Yang heart, the Yuan Ling is preserved and there is no scruple when practicing Yin Method. This is also a way to harmonize Yin and Yang."
