Chapter 128 The so-called talisman path and the so-called alchemy path
Chapter 128 The so-called talisman path and the so-called alchemy path
March 13th, the day before Qingming Festival.
A group of people gathered at Zhongling Mountain.
Because this trip was planned a long time ago, we didn't rush to West Kunlun like last time. At that time, we started from Yuxu Peak, but this time we just walked along the mountain gate.
The scale of the team this time is very large. The person in charge is Lu Duxing, the deputy head of Yujing Peak. In addition, Huo Jingyan, the head of the Foreign Affairs Institute, Zhao Wuji, the head of Cardinal Mountain, Wu Shi, the head of Danxia Mountain, Ying Jingsong, the head of Toujian Mountain, and Gan Jingquan, the head of Moya Mountain, are also present.
In addition, ten disciples from the first and second realms were also brought to participate in the Dragon and Tiger Dharma Assembly this time. In addition to watching the ceremony, these disciples would also perform rituals to add to the fun and to boost the prestige of the sect.
Another point is that the regional division and harvesting years of some spiritual fields and minerals in Yuzhang are also determined by the performance rankings of these first and second realm disciples.
This way of acting is limited to the first and second realms, because once one reaches the third realm, he or she will be a well-known figure. If placed in a remote area, he or she can even establish a sect and naturally will not engage in fighting anymore.
Several division commanders arrived quite early and were talking.
"Hey, why does Xinzhan insist on breaking through the second realm at this juncture? He can just open the Mu Mansion and it won't be too late to break through the second realm when he comes back!"
Huo Jingyan sighed and said this.
With Xinzhan's strength in practicing the five elements, it can be said that he can dominate the first realm. He would be sure to win in the competition in the first realm. But now that he has broken through the second realm, he will have to compete with those young talents who have been in the second realm for many years, and his confidence is not so great.
It’s just that the other party has specifically stated that they hope Xinzhan will participate, and I agreed after asking Xinzhan’s opinion, so of course I can’t go back on my word now.
Ying Jingsong smiled when he heard this, "Unless someone has refined a powerful Gangsha and can do it with ease, otherwise, Xinzhan's chances of winning should still be very high."
Zhao Wuji and Gan Jingquan both nodded and agreed. In addition to inner alchemy practice, Xinzhan's achievements in swordsmanship, thunder magic, and talisman magic were also obvious to everyone.
Ren Wushi was a little unhappy when he heard this. Since everyone thought it was good, how could such an excellent child not learn alchemy? The headmaster asked him to listen in at Sanshan, but did not mention Danxia Mountain. What was going on?
Was it because of his seclusion that Danxia Mountain was neglected? Then how did Wan Wuwei become the deputy mountain master?
Is this child not interested in alchemy? Ren Wushi didn't believe it. Only stupid people in the world would not be interested in alchemy because they couldn't learn it.
Did Wen Sukong or the headmaster have something against Danxia Mountain? Then I must catch them and ask them when I come back this time.
While they were chatting and laughing, most people had arrived and started to board the ship.
The means of transportation this time were also very interesting. They were three bamboo rafts. The rafts were very large, but very empty, with only some cushions placed on them.
Several teachers sat on the bamboo rafts in pairs, and the disciples also began to board the boats.
"Hey, Xinzhan hasn't come yet?"
Huo Jingyan was counting the number of people, but found that there was only one Cheng Xinzhan missing out of the twenty disciples. This shouldn't be the case, because the child knew his place and manners, and he shouldn't be late since he had agreed on a time.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm late!"
Huo Jingyan was just about to make contact when he heard a familiar voice.
Then a figure was seen walking towards him.
When he took a look, he wondered who else it could be but Xinzhan.
Huh? !
Look at his steps. What kind of magic light is under his feet? It flickers with silver and purple, like lightning, but there is also the sound of wind whistling and fire whistling. This child is not walking in a straight path. He turns every three steps and bends every four steps. The footprints left in the air look like plum branches or stars.
The voice came from far away and gradually got closer. It was very far away at first, but after finishing the sentence, it was right in front of me.
"Xinzhan, what kind of footwork is this? I have never seen you use it before."
Cheng Xinzhan bowed and replied, "I have learned a lot of different things. I found that wind, fire, stars, and thunder all have their own unique ways of escaping, so I wanted to combine them together. I created this weird escaping method. I call it the Four-Unlike Step. It is still in its infancy and not worthy of your attention."
Huo Jingyan nodded, nothing to say.
Cheng Xinzhan apologized to other teachers and fellow disciples, and prepared to pick up a bamboo raft to go up.
"Xinzhan, come to me."
At this moment, two shouts rang out in unison.
Cheng Xinzhan looked over and saw that it was the head of Danxia Mountain, Wu Shi, and the head of Moya Mountain, Gan Jingquan, who were calling him at the same time.
"Jingquan, you don't have to move. I'll go there for you."
Seeing this, Ren Wushi shouted and took a step forward.
Seeing this, Cheng Xinzhan had no choice but to get on the bamboo raft.
On the raft now are three elders, Ying Jingsong, Gan Jingquan and Ren Wushi, and there are seven people in total, including the disciples Cheng Xinzhan.
Cheng Xinzhan saw Zeng Jinian from Toujian Mountain and Xiao Miaoyu from Moya Mountain on this raft, and on the opposite raft he saw Zhu Heyong from Danxia Mountain. He had seen the others before, but was not familiar with them.
"Jingquan, if you have anything to say, tell me first."
Ren Wushi sat down on the cushion next to Gan Jingquan.
Cheng Xinzhan also came and sat down opposite several mountain masters.
He had not had much dealings with Moya Mountain and Danxia Mountain before, and it was the first time he met the two mountain masters. He found that the two mountain masters were very unique, well, that's not right, it can only be said that the mountain masters of each mountain are very unique.
The owner of Danxia Mountain is a typical person with a childlike face and white hair. His hair is like silver threads, but there is not a single wrinkle on his face and his complexion is as rosy as a baby's.
The master of Moya Mountain is extremely young. The youngest mountain master Cheng Xinzhan had ever seen before was the master of Toujian Mountain, but the master of Gan Jingquan Mountain is even younger than the master of Ying Mountain and looks very youthful.
"Xinzhan, your name Yi Fu is well-known!"
Gan Jingquan said with a smile.
I dare not look at it in my heart.
"Where did you learn all these magic skills?"
Gan Jingquan was very curious. He became interested after hearing about the person named Cheng Yifu in the sect. Later, when the demons were suppressed in West Kunlun, the direct disciple Xiao Miaoyu came back and praised Cheng Yifu highly, which aroused his interest even more.
He looked at the talisman drawn by Cheng Xinzhan that he took from Xiao Miaoyu. Although the quality of the talisman was not high, the brushstrokes and the divine meaning contained therein were extremely wonderful.
Cheng Xinzhan answered truthfully.
"I started with The Beginning of the Way of Talismans."
Gan Jingquan nodded. This was not surprising. Most of the talisman practitioners in the world started with this book. This book was available for free borrowing in the Sanqingshan Library.
"And then? Who taught you the way of talismans?"
he asked again.
Cheng Xinzhan replied, "No one taught me, but Elder Jingsi of Toujian Mountain once gave me a book of talismans, which helped me a lot. Through these two books, I understood the elements and key points of talisman drawing, and then I tried to draw them myself. At first, it was difficult to understand, but later I found that talismans, spells, and calligraphy and painting can learn from each other, and the way of talismans has improved."
At this point, Cheng Xinzhan found that his fellow disciples on the raft were listening, especially those from Moyashan, so he began to talk about it.
"I think that the emphasis, speed, rhythm and intonation of the mantra when chanting and the emphasis, speed, turning and twisting of the brush when drawing the talisman are similar in nature. They are just different expressions of the rhythm of Tao and the meaning of the law.
"Later, in order to learn the Fa, I came into contact with different fonts, such as Yunli, Leizhuan, Fengcao, and Longzhang. I found that these characters were actually symbols. The same character, when written in different fonts, presented different Fa meanings. So I later taught myself Fengwen, Guishu, Tadpole Wen, Flower and Bird Wen, and Insect and Fish Wen.
“When you draw different symbols and use different fonts, the benefits may not be that great at first, but after you get used to it, you can let your pen move freely without being restricted to any particular font. When you write, you can write neither official script nor seal script. Suddenly one day, you will find that the benefits are not to be underestimated.
"Another point is visualization. Visualize the images of gods more often. With gods in your heart, you will naturally feel as if you are assisted by gods when you write. I have a method that I have figured out and I would like to share it with you. It is just my personal opinion, but I feel it is useful. Because many gods are very old, it is difficult to understand their true meaning just by visualizing the images. Sometimes I will collect some legends, which may be true or may be far-fetched by later generations. I will write biographies of gods based on these stories. As I write and think, the divine will in my heart will naturally become stronger.
"Another one is to visualize the true form of nature, such as mountains. The true form of nature is there, but you don't have to visualize the entire scenery when you visualize it. You can separate the lines that best represent the mountain, such as the boundary between yin and yang, the line that shows the ups and downs of the mountain, and the cloud and water lines associated with the mountain lines. Sometimes you need to look far away, and sometimes you need to look up close. With these lines, you can integrate them into the talisman, and your divine will will have a basis."
After Cheng Xinzhan finished speaking, the raft became quiet.
"It's just one family's opinion."
he added.
"Thank you, Master Cheng, for your lecture!"
At this moment, to his surprise, Xiao Miaoyu suddenly stood up and saluted him!
He was very familiar with this etiquette. This was the etiquette that disciples of Mount Sanqing performed towards their teachers. He had performed it to his master at first, and later to his teacher Tao Jianxian, and also to his teacher Jiang Weishan. He never imagined that one day he would be performed this etiquette by others!
"Brother Miaoyu, you can't do that."
He took two steps forward and helped Xiao Miaoyu up.
"Thank you, Master Cheng, for your lecture!"
The other five fellow disciples all stood up and performed the disciple salute.
Cheng Xinzhan was at a loss for a moment.
Gan Jingquan, Ying Jingsong and Ren Wushi clapped their hands together.
"You are really a young man to be feared! You are taking heaven and earth as your teachers! I saw that you are very talented, so I asked you about your knowledge of the Way of Talismans. I was going to invite you to Moya Mountain to listen to the lectures, but now it seems that I still want to invite you to Moya Mountain, but not to listen to the lectures, but to invite you to give lectures. I hope you can agree."
Gan Jingquan exclaimed.
"This……"
Cheng Xinzhan was a little hesitant. He had just entered the second realm. How could he go to Moya Mountain, which was famous for its talismans, to preach?
At this time, Ren Wushi could no longer wait and said,
"Xinzhan, just agree to it. In any matter, teaching others is also teaching yourself. When others learn, you will definitely be more advanced. I will ask you one more question. Do you have the same insights on the Dao of Alchemy as on the Dao of Talismans?"
Cheng Xinzhan shook his head. He was indeed not familiar with alchemy.
Ren Wushi was anxious. Does this kid really not know how to practice alchemy?
"How could this be?"
he asks.
Cheng Xinzhan thought about it and wondered why he didn't learn the Dao of Alchemy in the first place.
Oh.
Yes, I have no money.
When I first started practicing swordsmanship, I had no money and could only learn spells and talismans. It was when I first went out to travel to "Qiu Shui" and "Tao Du" that I began to get in touch with kendo.
Later, he was no longer short of money and was strongly cultivated by the sect. He began to get in touch with the Dao of Alchemy through the opportunity of sword-forging. However, apart from the orthodox inner alchemy practice, the sword, talismans, spells, refining and thunder were enough for him to learn. It seemed that he never had a chance to learn the Dao of Alchemy.
"I heard that alchemy is extremely difficult and extremely wasteful, so..."
Ren Wushi blew his beard and glared when he heard this.
"The way of alchemy is difficult, but that is only for fools. It is not difficult for you. The way of alchemy is expensive. Since Toujian, Shuji and Baihu Mountains allow you to audit and learn, can't my Danxia Mountain afford your alchemy needs?"
Cheng Xinzhan was speechless.
At this time, Master Ren changed his tone again.
"Xinzhan, how about this? When I return, I will go find your master and the head of the sect and allow you to come to Danxia Mountain to listen to the alchemy. What do you think?"
This kind of pie in the sky was also an opportunity. He really didn't know how to refuse it. He even bowed.
"Thank you, Master Ren, for your kindness!"
Ren Wushi nodded with a smile, and then asked Cheng Xinzhan,
"It is necessary to know the fire method when refining the elixir. Xinzhan, do you have the magic fire in your body?"
Cheng Xinzhan nodded, and with a flip of his hand, two fireballs rolled in his palm.
"My disciple has one Bing Fire and one Ding Fire. I wonder if they can be used to make the elixir?"
Ren Wushi's eyes lit up and he said yes repeatedly. In his heart, he cursed Wan Wuwei bitterly. Why didn't such seedlings be brought to Danxia Mountain earlier?
At this moment, he had exactly the same idea as Zhao Wuji had back then.
"Come on, Xinzhan, it's too early. I'll teach you some alchemy theories first..."
Ren Wushi said it was too early, but Sanqing Mountain and Longhu Mountain were both in Yuzhang, so how far could they be? After a while, Longhu Mountain was right in front of them, and he had just begun to talk about his theory of alchemy.
However, this man was worthy of being the master of Danxia Mountain. He spoke from a profound perspective. He talked about an introductory theory of alchemy, from preserving essence and removing dross to refining essence into qi. He immediately connected it with the inner alchemy, which benefited Cheng Xinzhan a lot.
"Look, the most famous Azure Dragon and White Tiger Dan Xiang in the world is that."
Ren Wushi pointed in the direction where the bamboo raft was slowly falling and said.
Cheng Xinzhan looked over there and saw towering mountains, stretching endlessly, with yellow rocks and green pines everywhere, which were somewhat similar to the rock shapes of Mount Sanqing.
However, if you look from a distance, you can see that Sanqing Mountain is quiet and beautiful, while these mountains are majestic.
In the center of the mountains, there is a circle of mountains forming a ring, and on both sides of the mountains there are two high peaks standing, like a round tripod with two ears.
To the east of the round tripod, the mountains are winding and meandering like a dragon. This mountain range is planted with green pines, like a green dragon lying on the ground. I don’t know how many miles it stretches for, with no end in sight.
To the west of the round tripod, there are clustered high peaks, which resemble tigers. The high peaks and rocks here are exposed, as if a white tiger is soaring into the sky. The high peaks reach straight into the clouds, and you can only see its body but not its head.
These three mountains are the famous Xianding Mountain, Qinglong Ridge and Baihu Peak.
According to legend, when the ancestor Tianshi was refining elixir here, when the elixir was ready, dragons and tigers appeared and ascended to heaven on the spot. The cauldron for refining the elixir turned into Xianding Mountain, and the dragon and tiger visions turned into Qinglong Ridge and Baihu Peak.
"Back then, Master Zu Tianshi didn't take the pill. He just ascended to heaven right after the pill was formed. Haha, Xinzhan, this is the way of the pill!"
