Chapter 157: Days before Studying Abroad
Della, who was slightly malnourished, was given an IV drip for several days in the hospital before being discharged. She was then immediately arranged to live in a small, well-equipped apartment in the city center.
She got bundles of cash British pounds (it seemed that the Ministry of Magic didn't care about Muggle money?), a silent house-elf (theoretically this was just property), two Muggle language teachers (teaching French and German respectively), Aryan helped her pack up the dormitory, and Aidan and Dark brought her books and clothes in batches.
It was here that Della felt there was something wrong. Because of the curse, she could not contact wizards from her own country, but it was too strange that only Royea and his son were communicating with her.
Thinking carefully about the conversation between Aidan and her that day, Della was sure that Aidan, or someone behind him, wanted her to stay in Europe, but no matter what, the conditions offered to her were tempting.
Of course there will be a feeling of being manipulated, but this is Slytherin, they clearly know the law of mutually beneficial exchange, everyone jumps onto the chessboard voluntarily, compared to the useless pieces covered in dust, being on the chessboard shows that you still have the ability and opportunity to fight.
Only with opportunities can you win in the end.
Things had not turned out so badly to this point. Della's accusation in court that day had confirmed her identity as a victim. Since the beginning of the trial was wrong, this trial naturally should not count.
The study abroad journey that she had to go on because of the curse seemed to bring her a lot of gains.
As for her now widely circulated identity as Voldemort's daughter, frankly speaking, it's not a bad thing for Slytherin.
Della could see the admiration and fear that some people had for her, and she fully understood the disgust and hatred that others had for her. It was not until she was in court that she finally understood what Dumbledore meant by "something that Voldemort projected onto her through blood."
All along, Della only looked at the distorted blood relationship from her own perspective. What she saw was a father's careless exploitation of his daughter. She felt disgusted by this and naturally became independent.
But apart from this father and daughter who have never been friendly, everyone sees their relationship as a close continuation, a continuation of faith, power, talent, hatred, and ugliness. Della has to accept the convenience that this continuation will bring her, and she must also endure the controversy that this continuation brings.
This is just like a deeply rooted idea. Even if a person publicly refuses, the label attached to him will always follow him, and even be made more eye-catching by others.
Choosing to argue and seek recognition from outside is something Della has always disliked.
Della planned that instead of becoming a clown who could be painted by others, it would be better to enjoy those conveniences naturally.
Perhaps it's because she has always been indifferent to outsiders, so she can accept the current situation so quickly.
Suddenly, she thought of Draco, just like when she saw that Abbott and the others had strange souls and made a risky plan, Della always thought of Draco at the last minute, and this "remembrance" would not affect her decision in the slightest.
Della understood the common problem of the Slytherins in her: nothing could stop them without a clear threat of gain.
This is actually a manifestation of greed. They do so much and give up so much just to get more.
Della was a little confused as to how much she valued Draco. Nominally speaking, they were still boyfriend and girlfriend, and Della had no intention of changing that.
But she had hidden too much from Draco, and this incident exposed all her secrets. What would Draco think? What would he think that his girlfriend, who he worried about being attacked day and night, was actually the safest Parseltongue?
Suppressing one or two conflicts in an intimate relationship can be fatal, not to mention that she has almost hidden herself completely.
But they couldn't communicate in any way now, not even writing letters. When Della picked up the pen, she couldn't think of contacting the wizard from Country Y, nor could she touch most of the letters that contained sentimental information about her.
However, whenever Della was troubled by this, she could fill her time with busy language learning. In addition, there were several letters from the Alchemy Group of Beauxbatons. They did extend an olive branch to her because of the superb skills on the dagger, so Della had a new research. It seemed that what she wanted to make was a part of a certain part. According to the letter, this would be her review for joining the group.
So Della suddenly became very busy. When Maggie found her apartment with a bird and two snakes, Della suddenly remembered this companion who had never given her much worry.
"How was the journey?" Della fed Ang some nuts, and then took out all the raw beef from the refrigerator. Apep and the blind little snake monster ate with relish. Della observed the little snake monster, whose scales were hard and unusually raised, for a while before asking Maggie.
"Hai-Xihashi-ya (I think I left too early. As soon as I woke up, I took these guys on the Hogwarts Express of the aftermath investigator, but the developments over there were completely beyond my expectations. I had no choice but to take them to stay somewhere else for the time being)." Maggie said, swallowing a large piece of meat.
"Somewhere else?" Della looked at the relatively clean feathers on Ange's body and guessed, "You were well taken care of before, right? It just took some effort to get from there to my place."
"Xixi-Sa (There are not many people who can connect with you, but there are many people watching you from afar, so I can only come here by myself)," Maggie looked at Della, "Haishi-ya (Actually, I want to discuss some money matters with you)."
"Money?" Della first looked at the little snake strangely, who seemed unable to spend money independently. Then some clues flashed through her mind. She became interested and interrupted Maggie's explanation. "Let me guess. Have you actually touched the Gringotts compensation that the Malfoys gave me? Did you go to -"
"We did the Halloween business!" Della thought of the popular potions and costumes during Halloween, and she quickly added, "Maybe we'll also be involved in the sale of those popular amulets later?"
"Hai-ya (So you noticed it)," Maggie blinked her snake eyes in surprise, "Hai-xia (I took your Gringotts key, we made a lot of money, and deposited another 1,000 Galleons on top of the 4,000 Galleons compensation. Can you guess who it is)?"
"Trev Ewing?" Della gave the name of the senior who was a little too attentive to her without hesitation.
"Hai-Xi (You're right)," Maggie looked at Della approvingly and explained Trevor's background, "Asa-Hai-Xi-Ya (Ewing is a Muggle surname. His ancestors were a wealthy pure-blood family. He married a Gaunt wife. By his generation, the ability to speak Parseltongue was not pure. He could only understand it but could not speak it)."
So, Draco's guess about the origin of Harry's Parseltongue actually matched Trevor's background perfectly?
"That's enough to be your agent," Della commented, returning to Maggie's original intention. "We're talking about money this time?"
"Cis-sis-sisa (Trevaux expanded his network when he was an on-campus agent, and he wants to expand his own small business)." Maggie only said this. As for the amount, it depends on how much Della wants to give.
"Small business?" Della questioned this, but she would not say much to Maggie about money. Wealth was the least meaningful area for them. "I don't care. He can take all the money in Gringotts. If he is really capable and can find a way to communicate with me overseas, you can give him additional investment later."
"We are going to be very rich anyway," Della looked at Maggie and raised her voice, "The Ministry of Magic must give an amount that is convincing to the public. The agents of the Law Enforcement Department are also trying their best to leave their names in this big case. I am the complete beneficiary."
"Hai-sia (and there will be more money rushing to you)." Obviously Maggie and Della thought in the same way, they both saw the benefits of Voldemort's reputation.
"Let's not talk about that. Shouldn't you talk to me about it?" Della pointed at the little snake monster that was still enjoying raw meat.
"Haisa-hi (I thought you wanted to talk to me about how Sadolin became your basilisk)." Maggie's snake body leaned back. It was the first time that they were in harmony and yet so out of harmony.
That means this was an unexpected situation.
