Chapter 167 Breakfast with New Roommates

During the summer vacation, only the cafeteria in the Iris District of Beauxbatons was open, and Bellinda brought Della to have breakfast early in the morning.

Because she came to a new place with her elders yesterday, Della had not yet relaxed enough to take a closer look at Beauxbatons' cafeteria. The first and most eye-catching thing was the simple and delicate iris patterns that were everywhere on the white walls. They seemed to grow on the walls, swaying their graceful petals all the time.

Then came the familiar floor tiles, the same as those in the Ministry of Magic in Country Y, paved with sparkling crystal-textured tiles, but with a hazy frosted feel added to them, which made a clanging sound when stepped on, as if walking on a catwalk.

"You must try the waffles at Iris Garden. I think they are the best here." As soon as Belinda entered the cafeteria, almost everyone's eyes, regardless of gender, were on her, but she didn't care at all and walked towards the wooden table in the center of the cafeteria where food was automatically replenished.

"I'm looking forward to it." Della responded as she found a table for two and pulled out the chairs. She had to admit that she quite liked the fact that the Beauxbatons dining table was independent.

"The confit duck from Lily Garden, the baked snails from Narcissus Garden, and the macarons from Lily Garden are also not to be missed. It's a pity that only one cafeteria is open during the summer vacation." Belinda came over with waffles.

"Professor Weiss didn't tell me yesterday that only the cafeteria in Iris Court was open." Della asked Bellinda for directions to Lily of the Valley Court this morning.

"Alonso Weiss?" Bellinda raised her voice while holding two plates of waffles. She placed one of the plates in front of Della, her golden hair hanging down, and the delicate scent of narcissus instantly lingered around Della. "I heard from an ex-boyfriend of mine that he is a very good professor."

"Boyfriend?" Della paused as she picked up the knife and fork in the scent of narcissus.

"I fall in love with someone I admire, regardless of his/her gender." Belinda looked at Della and said with a smile.

Hearing this, Della suddenly recalled what Aidan said by the Flamel Fountain: "freedom and romance". She felt that Belinda might be the type of person who would wear a swimsuit by the fountain, and judging by everyone's undisguised fascination with Belinda, she was probably too serious.

"I also think Professor Weiss is a very good person." Della brought the topic back to the reason why it was brought up in the first place. As she spoke, she forked up the frozen and frosted blueberry that was used to decorate the waffle.

"I really enjoy chatting with you, Della. I really hope you will always think of me as Belinda like you do now." Belinda frowned and pouted, and the expression on her face suddenly became extremely lovable.

"Excuse me," Della swallowed the fruit between her lips and tongue, "If that's what you want, you should express less of your affection for me, um... maybe beyond friendship. I'm not a blank slate, Belinda."

"I can't help it, dear. Apart from the three rules of Bellinda in the Lily of the Valley District, everyone knows that Bellinda never compromises. Since last night, you have defeated all my suitors." Bellinda blinked and looked at Della. She reached out and took the small bowl of syrup, and spoke the most sincere love words in a voice sweeter than honey.

"That's going to be a real problem," said Della, who, after a night and a morning, had become adept at dealing with Belinda's narcissism. "It looks like this is going to be one of your rare and longest periods of absence."

"Oh~ Now your attitude makes me love and hate you." Belinda smiled and put a piece of soft waffle into her mouth.

Della smiled at Belinda and said nothing more. She lowered her head and concentrated on enjoying her first breakfast in a foreign country.

In Beauxbatons, she entered a new dormitory with a new identity and got a new roommate. Next, she would also have to socialize with a new look.

What kind of new look? A new look with a background.

In the past at Hogwarts, she was a poor little girl from an orphanage with some talent; now in Beauxbatons, and later in Durmstrang and Hogwarts where she must return, she has been labeled as having the bloodline of the Dark Lord.

It’s not a flattering label, but it’s definitely a deterrent one. Thanks to this, Della now has the capital to not laugh in front of outsiders, and also has a certain degree of freedom to act on her own will.

This also means that she can be herself to a certain extent.

This is a good thing, Della will be in good shape too.

Of course, Della still has basic courtesy towards her elders and seniors. To put it simply, Della is a decent person.

When people had a preconceived notion that she was the daughter of the cruel Dark Lord, this common courtesy shown due to her good upbringing could easily shatter other people's stereotypes of her.

"You, you are much better than I thought." After receiving Della's polite reply, Livia Cavani, who had just stammered to introduce herself and her research partner Yu Shi Zhou, was flattered and raised her hand to cover her mouth with braces.

This is a white girl with fair skin. She is not very pretty, but her eyes are surprisingly bright and her slightly plump apple muscles make her exude a friendly atmosphere all the time.

"It's good to be modest," said Zhou Yushi, a short-haired Asian boy next to him. He looked up and down at Della, who was standing upright. Unlike the general impression of Asians, his eyes were big and bright. If Della knew some rhetoric, she would probably describe Zhou as having sharp eyebrows and starry eyes. "But I have to admit that your work is good."

"Don't worry about him, Della, we were responsible for that part before, and your work - oh! How should I describe it! It makes our previous efforts become - become - the dirty water cleared out of the Flamel Fountain!" Livia opened her light brown eyes wide, and a few freckles on the side of her nose sparkled under the laboratory light, as if looking at Della with reverence together with those eyes.

In fact, Livia's exposed braces were also shining.

Della used some willpower to keep her eyes from being glued to Livia's eye-catching mouth. She looked up at Livia's passionate and somewhat crazy eyes, and hesitated for a while before not thinking too much about Livia's self-deprecating words just now. "I think you've gone a little too far, Cavani."

"She's not wrong - although I have never praised Livia's rhetoric, she is right this time. Your alchemy skills are truly admirable." When Zhou Yushi said this, there was obvious admiration on his face, but the way he spoke with gritted teeth completely revealed his unwillingness.

"Don't worry about him. Yu Shi is a typical Asian. He always tries his best to do better. Just let him work hard by himself--"

"Livia Cavani?!" Zhou Yushi glared at Livia and shouted, but Livia only looked at Della.

"Let me take you around our lab now. I can't wait to see your skills!" Livia supported Della as they walked deeper into the lab, her tone unable to conceal her excitement. "Six-phase alchemist, right? I'm really looking forward to it!"

"I'm looking forward to it too, Senior Cavani." Della responded with a smile. As she looked at Livia with sparkling eyes and Zhou Yu with a still gloomy face, she secretly evaluated their backgrounds.

As someone who has lived in the Muggle world, Della was certain that the two seniors in charge of her had a Muggle background, based on Livia's braces and their familiarity with Asian stereotypes.

As someone with a Muggle background, it was a little beyond his expectations that he would treat her, the daughter of the Dark Lord, like this.

For now, Della has a good impression of them.
