Chapter 185: Admiring Hermione's Practicality
"My dear... I don't think the classroom is the place to bring this up," Professor Trelawney said in a slurred voice.
Amanta nodded: "Please forgive my rudeness, Professor... I was just impulsive - oh, poor Harry!"
She suddenly sighed with great force, letting out a sigh of regret.
Professor Trelawney shook her arm, which was covered with a bunch of bracelets. "Poor child... This is really a scene I don't want to see..."
Amanta sighed and turned her head to the side, giving Harry another sly wink - Professor Trelawney's reaction almost confirmed what she had just said to Harry.
After Amanta's probing, Harry finally reacted.
"Professor?" He tried hard to make a ferocious expression. Because he was trying too hard, it was a little funny. Amanta almost couldn't hold back his expression. "Thank you for reminding me. I've been thinking about my epitaph and will--"
Professor Trelawney put her hand on her forehead and closed her eyes slightly, seeming to have returned to a relaxed state.
"My dear, it seems that you know how to plan ahead. I am glad that you can face your own death so rationally-"
"I don't think the pattern is too ominous."
A shrill girl's voice suddenly interrupted Professor Trelawney.
Hermione had squeezed in from behind the crowd at some point and was now standing behind Professor Trelawney's chair, peering over her head at Harry's teacup.
Everyone was shocked.
Professor Trelawney turned and regarded her with an unfriendly look.
Hermione faced Professor Trelawney's scrutinizing gaze but still insisted on her point of view.
She repeated her words again - which made Professor Trelawney frown and look even more disgusted.
"My dear, please forgive me for saying this, but my third eye sees that the aura around you is very small, and you may not have any perception of the future."
However, Hermione's words made Seamus, who was not far away, question: "Well... from this point of view, it seems a bit ominous-"
He squinted his eyes until they were almost the same as if they were closed, and then he tilted his head to the left: "But looking at it this way, it looks more like a donkey--"
Hermione and Seamus's doubts seemed to have opened Pandora's box. The students who were originally intimidated by Professor Trelawney began to talk in a low voice.
"I still think that thing was probably a hippopotamus..." Ron whispered.
Neville said timidly: "I think... like a buffalo...?"
"It's obviously a sheep."
"..."
Amanta looked at Hermione with admiration - she was lowering her head, looking at the angry Professor Trelawney with neither humility nor superiority.
Regardless, she admired Hermione's courage.
Faced with an unreasonable professor, she still dared to raise her doubts directly - in this regard, she admired her spirit of seeking facts and not fearing power.
But Professor Trelawney is by no means a reasonable professor.
Amanta and Harry wanted to get high scores in the Divination class, so they had no choice but to choose to predict their own misfortune in order to please Professor Trelawney.
Slytherin - assess the situation and protect yourself.
This kind of work that requires courage, dedication and academic rigor should be left to Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
