Chapter 186 Interlude
Chapter 186 Interlude
evening.
Jiang Miao received a reminder from the nurse that Shuya had woken up.
He hurried into the delivery bedroom.
Shuya was lying on the bed. The bed, which was the same model as the one in the hospital, was rocked up so that she could half lie and half sit. Her daughter had been carried out by the nurse.
"Aya! How do you feel?" Jiang Miao held her hand and gently lifted the ends of her hair. Although she had experienced childbirth, her face was still rosy and shiny due to special nutritional care and regular exercise.
"I'm fine." Shuya smiled and shook her head slightly.
"Have some nourishing soup!"
"Yeah!" Shuya nodded.
Nurse Bai had already gone outside with the child, leaving space for the couple.
He poured half a bowl of specially prepared nutritious soup from the thermos. He wanted to feed her with a spoon, but Shuya grabbed the spoon and said, "I'm just a little tired, not that I can't hold the spoon."
"Okay! Thank you for your hard work."
"not bad!"
Since the year 2000, the proportion of caesarean sections during childbirth in China has increased significantly. This is mainly because modern nutrition is too abundant, causing the baby to grow too large in the belly, making it difficult to deliver safely through natural delivery. In order to reduce the risk, hospitals can only recommend caesarean sections to pregnant women.
On the other hand, modern women's physical labor or exercise has declined significantly, which indirectly leads to poor physical fitness and the inability of muscles to squeeze the child out of the abdominal cavity.
Jiang Miao specially controlled Shuya's diet to prevent the baby from being overweight. In addition, Shuya's long-term exercise made this natural delivery so smooth.
He originally planned to send Shuya to the hospital for delivery on October 10th, and the appointment time was October 5th.
Unexpectedly, my water broke prematurely, so I could only try to have a natural birth at home.
Fortunately, everything went smoothly.
After drinking half a bowl of nutritious soup, Shuya wiped her mouth and said, "A Miao, I plan to take a break for a year or two before having a second child."
"It doesn't matter. We are still young, so take it slow." Jiang Miao didn't care about it.
After all, they are only 28 years old. One or two years is not a big deal. As long as they are not over 35 years old, the risk to the pregnant woman and the child is not great, especially in the case of a second child.
Shuya leaned on his shoulder, closed her eyes and said, "I plan to start preliminary experiments on the two projects you gave me last time in half a month."
"Don't worry, take another month or two of rest!"
"No, I don't think there's anything wrong with my health. I haven't done any research work for more than half a year, and I feel like I'm getting rusty. It's so boring to have nothing to do." Shuya refused without hesitation.
"Then I'll accompany you for ten days. I plan to go to the Mo Nan branch on the 10th."
Shuya continued to close her eyes and rest: "I know, but when you go out, you must be careful. After all, times are different now, and many people are watching you."
"Don't worry! I never put myself in danger."
"Bring Xiaoxuan here. I haven't taken a good look at the child yet."
"it is good!"
After a while, Jiang Miao asked nurse Bai Fang to bring his daughter in.
Shuya held her daughter in her arms, her face full of maternal love. Her daughter, who was holding her thumb, suddenly burst into tears when she hugged her.
"Ahhhhh..."
"Huh?" Shuya's brain suddenly froze.
Bai Fang quickly reminded: "Madam, please shake it gently..."
In the chaos, Shuya finally calmed down her restless daughter.
Jiang Miao had already prepared a name for his daughter in advance, Jiang Lingxuan, which means a smart and healthy girl.
He stayed at home with Shuya and her daughter for ten days.
It is indeed not an easy task to take care of a child. If it were not for two nurses, two nannies, and my mother’s constant help, the couple would have no time to rest.
10 month 10 day.
Shuya has recovered a lot through rehabilitation training, so she does not plan to stay idle at home any longer and plans to return to her research work. However, she still takes time every day to breastfeed her daughter. As a biological researcher, she knows very well the importance of breast milk to children.
Compared to formula, breast milk not only has nutritional content that is more suitable for human babies, but also has a very important benefit. That is, breast milk contains the mother's natural antibodies, which can help children quickly build immunity to the surrounding environment.
In particular, after Shuya ate the nutritious meal prepared by Jiang Miao, all of her physical indicators were exceptionally good, her immunity was very strong, and the quality of her breast milk was very good.
On the same day, Jiang Miao bid farewell to his family and secretly took the high-speed rail to the north.
However, this time when going north, Jiang Miao did not take the previous Yangcheng-Jiangcheng-Beijing route, nor did he take the Gannan-Jinling-Beijing route, but took a completely new route: the coastal route.
I don’t choose the same route every time I travel, just to avoid others knowing my route.
He took the high-speed train from Shanmei, passed through the Chaoshan area, entered Fujian Province and Zhejiang Province, got off in Shanghai, and then rented a car to Chenjia Town on Chongming Island.
In the Yu'an reclamation area of Chenjia Town.
Jiang Miao met Huang Huobing, the manager of Yu'an Farm who was sent from the headquarters last month.
"Boss, welcome to Yu'an Farm for inspection." Huang Huobing and several other farm managers applauded.
"Okay, show me the farm!"
"Yes, boss, please follow me." Huang Huobing led the way.
The area of Yu'an Farm is not large, only 2500 acres. The main reason why it has not been expanded is that the local arable land area is limited. It was only through communication with the town government and adjustment of the arable land indicators of Zhelimu City in the south of the desert that these 2500 acres of wheat fields were obtained.
Taking into account that strawberries are not resistant to transportation, the planting division plans to transform all 2500 acres of wheat fields into strawberry greenhouses.
Next, the strawberry planting area on Chongming Island will continue to increase until it reaches about 1 acres.
As for ginseng fruit and tomatoes, the planting division did not choose to open new planting bases in the Yangtze River Delta region, but instead planned to open up corresponding planting areas along the Yangtze River in northern Jiangxi and transport them to the Yangtze River Delta region by road.
Jiang Miao inspected Yu'an Farm.
Afterwards, we went to Xinzheng Village on the northeast coast of Chongming Island for inspection.
Near the Chongming Solid Waste Disposal and Comprehensive Utilization Center, Jiang Miao saw a large area of saline-alkali mudflats. It was difficult to even grow soybeans in this place because the sea water would cover these mudflats during high tide.
Unless it is reclaimed as a saltwater aquaculture farm or land reclamation is carried out, it is difficult to utilize it.
Jiang Miao came here to inspect, naturally with a purpose.
He plans to build a marine aquaculture farm in the area in the future, but not for breeding fish, but for breeding spirulina.
Why cultivate Spirulina?
The answer is not to eat.
It's to store energy.
Chongming Island is located at the mouth of the Yangtze River. The river water flowing down from the upper reaches is rich in various nutrients and pollutants. Therefore, the water source near the estuary is not suitable for breeding of edible aquatic products.
Jiang Miao plans to use this eutrophic estuary water containing pollutants as the water for spirulina cultivation.
There are many benefits to doing this.
On the one hand, the enrichment effect of Spirulina can absorb excess nutrients and pollutants in the water, thereby achieving the effect of purifying the water.
At the same time, Spirulina cultivation wastewater can also be used as the planting water for Suaeda salsa. By breeding and improving the salt enrichment capacity of Suaeda salsa, the effect of seawater desalination can be achieved.
Of course, this technology does not mean much to the Yangtze River Delta region. After all, there is no shortage of fresh water there.
However, Suaeda can be grown in the northern coastal areas and is even more adapted to the northern climate. The northern coastal areas lack fresh water but are not short of seawater.
For example, if the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan area, which is a major water consumer, can obtain a large amount of fresh water in this way, it will be a very useful technology for the North China Plain.
Perhaps many people would say that the efficiency of using biological desalination of seawater must be very low and cannot compare with seawater desalination plants.
However, when looking at a technology, we cannot just look at the efficiency of one aspect, but must consider all aspects comprehensively.
The effect of Suaeda salsa in desalinating seawater is actually a by-product of this technology. The purpose of Hailufeng Company in cultivating spirulina and planting Suaeda salsa is to store energy and generate electricity.
Technically, the reproduction of Spirulina requires corresponding temperature and light. Its requirements for light and temperature are such that if it is to be reproduced at a high speed throughout the year, it can only be carried out along the coast of South China.
The winter in the coastal areas of East China is not suitable for the reproduction of Spirulina; the coastal areas of North China and Northeast China are not suitable for the reproduction of Spirulina for half a year.
It is this incompatibility that allows Spirulina to exert its energy storage effect.
By constructing a simple greenhouse, using fluorescent lamps and electric heating and electromagnetic field equipment, and borrowing electricity from offshore wind power projects to provide heat, light, and magnetic fields to the spirulina greenhouse cultivation pond, Spirulina can maintain a relatively efficient reproduction state.
Especially in the second half of the night, when electricity consumption is at its lowest, we can use that part of wind power to accelerate the reproduction of spirulina. If the sunlight can reach 18 hours a day, coupled with the stimulation of a specific magnetic field, the reproduction efficiency of spirulina can be increased by 2 times. It only takes about 85-90 hours for the spirulina in the breeding pond to double.
The produced spirulina powder, alkali sedge, etc. can be used as raw materials for microbial fuel cells to generate electricity, produce biogas, and produce fresh water.
The biogas slurry is recycled as nutrient solution for cultivating Spirulina, and the biogas residue is used as nutrient soil for Suaeda salsa.
The core of this system is high self-sustainability and low operating costs.
At present, the cost of seawater desalination is still high, generally around 4 to 8 yuan per cubic meter.
For example, the Lubei Bishuiyuan seawater desalination project in Wudi County, Shandong Province, reduces costs through photovoltaic power generation and circular economy, and the cost of desalinated water is as high as 7.5 yuan per cubic meter.
The recent bidding prices for several international desalination projects are generally between US$0.4 and US$0.6 per cubic meter, equivalent to approximately 2 to 3 Chinese Yuan. Among them, the bidding price for the Dubai Hassyan Desalination Plant project is US$0.36536 per cubic meter, equivalent to 2.6 Chinese Yuan.
Dubai can achieve an ex-factory price of more than two yuan per cubic meter of desalinated water because they use cheap natural gas from the Persian Gulf, which is equivalent to exchanging natural gas for fresh water.
Obviously, China does not have the luxury of using natural gas to exchange for fresh water, because the price of natural gas in China is much higher than that in the Persian Gulf region.
As for the seawater desalination projects derived from photovoltaic and wind power, the cost of the OriginWater project is 7.5 yuan per cubic meter. This cost is unaffordable not only in China, but even the European Union, which is obsessed with environmental protection, cannot afford it.
Domestic desalination projects that use new technologies, such as the Dongjiakou Desalination Plant, have reduced electricity consumption per ton of water to 2.5 kWh, and the price of a ton of water is only 4.25 yuan, which is barely acceptable, but the price is still relatively high.
The only drawback of this project planned by Jiang Miao is that it occupies a very large area and requires the transformation of a large area of coastal tidal flats.
Through relevant technical analysis, if all assumptions can meet the expected indicators, the project can achieve a daily freshwater output of 15 to 20 cubic meters per mu. A 100 million mu breeding base can produce 1500 to 2000 million cubic meters of freshwater per day, and 54 to 72 billion cubic meters of freshwater per year.
At the same time, the 100 million mu Spirulina breeding base can produce about 300 million tons of Spirulina dry matter and about 80 to 100 million tons of Suaeda dry matter annually.
These dry materials can generate 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity through microbial fuel cells and produce 24 billion cubic meters of biogas through fermentation.
Among them, the sludge of Spirulina dry matter can be used as organic fertilizer if the Spirulina breeding water is not industrial sewage.
In addition, genetically modified Suaeda salsa can be used to extract 20 to 30 tons of sodium chloride and tens of thousands of tons of other inorganic salts. However, these things are not profitable, and instead we need to find ways to dispose of them harmlessly.
The profitability of this project is actually quite good. The annual output value of biogas, electricity and organic fertilizer is about 50 billion yuan, with an average output value of 5000 yuan per mu.
If the breeding base is established on the coast of Bohai Sea, it can supply fresh water to the core area of the North China Plain. Calculated at an ex-factory price of 0.5 yuan per cubic meter, it can also generate an annual profit of 27 to 36 billion yuan.
As for the cost, in addition to the depreciation of the base facilities and labor costs, artificial light sources require about 1.5 million kWh of electricity a year, heating and electromagnetic fields require about 3 million kWh, and other miscellaneous electricity consumption is 0.5 million kWh, adding up to 5 million kWh.
The investment-output ratio is still very good, especially since lighting and heating are concentrated in the middle of the night, with heating only taking place in the winter months. Using valley bottom wind power, the cost of one kilowatt-hour of electricity is only 0.156-0.229 yuan.
Moreover, these farms can also develop warm water aquaculture and warm water planting to further utilize the waste heat.
After Jiang Miao inspected the natural environment of Chongming Island, he instructed Li Zixuan to write a report to the scientific research department of the headquarters, asking the research department to set up a scientific research base on Chongming Island.
In fact, Hailufeng Company already has four scientific research bases, namely the Shanmei Headquarters Research Base, the Coconut City Tropical Plant Research Base, the Luling Dairy Cow Breeding Research Base, and the Zhelimu Biological Mining Research Base.
The research base on Chongming Island is mainly responsible for studying crop technology in East China.
He plans to place the Spirulina-Suaeda salsa-microbial fuel cell-biogas project in the coastal area of Bohai Bay, and call it the Bioenergy Comprehensive Application Research Base.
After all, this technology will be used in the coastal areas around the Bohai Bay in the future, and scientific research bases will be established nearby to facilitate research and industrial layout.
Rested for a day on Chongming Island.
The next day, the group continued to take the high-speed rail north.
When arriving in Qindao City, Jiang Miao chose to stay here for one day.
Inside a restaurant.
Jiang Miao met his sister Jiang Xia whom he had not seen for nearly two months.
"Sister, thank you for your hard work." He said as he poured tea.
"We are all family, there is no need to be polite." Jiang Xia asked again: "How is Shuya's health?"
Jiang Miao shook his head helplessly: "She's fine, she's almost recovered, and she's been clamoring to go back to work these days."
"It's probably because taking care of a child is too tiring, but with my mother at home, and a few nannies and nurses, the child shouldn't be a problem." Jiang Xia took a sip of tea and continued, "I've almost made arrangements here. I'll go to several big cities in Henan Province to buy properties in a week."
"How many properties have been purchased in various places?" Jiang Miao picked up a piece of scallion-fried sea cucumber for his sister.
“长三角地区一共购入了100间店铺。赣省在分公司帮忙下,购入了100间店铺;京津唐地区购入了80间店铺;沿海各省的大城市购入了100间店铺。加上珠三角的50间,一共是430间,接下来估计还会再增加170间,达到600间的总规模。”
The layout of Hailufeng Company's physical franchise stores is to first build three centers and then four lines.
The three centers are the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan region.
The four lines are the Shenyang-Haikou Line, the Beijing-Kowloon Line, the Beijing-Guangzhou Line, and the Yangtze River Main Line.
As for the layout of Gan Province extending to the county towns, there is no need for it at present.
On the one hand, the company is short of staff, and expanding to 600 physical stores this year is already the limit. After all, Hailufeng Company does not adopt the franchise model, but the self-operated model.
On the other hand, the product categories are not rich enough, and the consumption power of small towns is limited. At this stage, entering small towns is basically a loss-making business.
In the early stage, just focus on key areas and trunk nodes.
This layout of catchment points is also conducive to reducing the pressure on the company's own logistics system. Customers in small counties and remote areas can only shop online and use SF Express.
Once Hailufeng Company's product categories become more diverse, and the number of contracted growers and breeders reaches a certain scale, we can then consider further expanding into the market.
After chatting with his sister for more than half an hour, Jiang Miao also gained an in-depth understanding of the progress of the franchise stores in various places.
As she was talking, Jiang Miao remembered something: "Oh, sister, the Human Resources Department has already recruited nearly 500 college students majoring in marketing in the autumn recruitment in various places. You can call the Human Resources Department and ask them to send some of the trained reserve employees to Jiangxi Province and the Yangtze River Delta as soon as possible."
"Oh? I know. I've been too busy these few months and forgot to communicate this matter with the Human Resources Department." Jiang Xia wrote this down.
"My brother-in-law went back to Shanmei a few days ago. You should also find time to go back. After all, we can arrange for a few deputy managers to follow up on the matters of the physical store. You just need to supervise them." Jiang Miao didn't want to see her sister and brother-in-law being apart more than together, so as not to affect their relationship.
"He came to see me a few days ago. These ten days or half a month won't make a difference. Now that he's done with his busy schedule these days, there'll be plenty of time at the end of the year." My sister smiled.
"Anyway, you guys should make the arrangements. After all, there are two children at home, and we should pay attention to their education," Jiang Miao reminded.
Of her two children, the younger Zhang Xiaomin is okay, but Zhang Xiaolong, who is already in junior high school, is a bit rebellious.
As soon as Jiang Xia heard her brother's words, she guessed it immediately: "Did Xiaolong get into trouble again? I'll beat him up when I get back."
Jiang Miao thought for a while and said, "Sister, I don't think Xiaolong is good at studying, and few of his classmates are good friends. I might as well let him drop out of school and let my brother-in-law take him to do business. After all, our family doesn't need a diploma, so he won't develop bad habits."
Hearing this, Jiang Xia also thought that this was a good suggestion. Considering their family's financial situation, they really didn't need a diploma.
She also knew her son's academic performance. He was always among the bottom ten in his grade at school. Forcing him to study would probably be useless.
As for transferring schools, although it is easy to do with the influence of the Jiang family, the problem is that forcing someone who can't study to go to a good school will only increase the pressure.
The couple are very busy at work, and if they leave their son alone in school, his bad friends will definitely continue to contact him.
This is not the way to go.
Jiang Xia made up her mind that the couple could take turns taking their son on business trips, so that he could gain more knowledge and at the same time isolate him from his daily encounters with bad friends. As time went on, the so-called friendship between classmates and loyalty between friends would become dull.
As for the knowledge learned in junior high school, high school and university, it actually does not have much direct relationship with actual work. Much of the content in today's domestic education is divorced from reality or is seriously out of touch.
If her son wants to learn at that time, she can also hire a tutor to give him some professional knowledge.
Rather than learning knowledge, Jiang Xia now pays more attention to her child's world outlook, values and character. As a second-generation businessman who will not have to worry about food and clothing in the future, world outlook, values and character are the most important.
The future plans for her children suddenly became clear to her.
Jiang Miao secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that his sister had listened to him.
This is also his idea. When it comes to children's education, we cannot rely on schools and teachers. Parents should teach by example.
After all, many teachers themselves come from ivory towers and do not have much social experience. The younger the teachers, the more lacking they are in this aspect.
Moreover, because the current school atmosphere is not very good, many teachers will be complained by weird parents if they are a little strict, so many teachers simply choose to give up.
When Jiang Miao was in primary school, he had no idea how many times he had been hit on the palm of his hand by the teacher's ruler. Nowadays, students cannot be hit or scolded. They are like giant babies and will become depressed if they are not satisfied with the slightest thing.
After chatting with his sister for several hours, he also gave her a lot of suggestions and helped Xiaolong plan a series of arrangements, such as internship in a physical store, working as an ordinary worker in a breeding farm, etc., and occasionally traveling on business with the couple, which is equivalent to working and studying part-time.
In the afternoon, he visited the scenic spots around Qindao. Since the National Day holiday had passed, there were not many tourists.
I rested in a hotel in Qindao tonight.
At eight o'clock the next morning, Jiang Miao and his party boarded the high-speed train heading north again, but this time he did not stop in Beijing or other places, but went straight to Zhelimu City.
