Chapter 198: Zhudan Refining Spirit Complete Success

Chapter 198: Zhudan Refining Spirit Complete Success (5K words, monthly ticket requested)
"Do you feel it?"

Fu Shouzhen's message.

"Ah."

Dong Shouren responded, "There are high-ranking officials in the south who are spying on us."

"Nine times out of ten it's that old loach in the green robe."

Fu Shouzhen Dao.

By the time Cheng Xinzhan had survived the first wave of thunder, the innocent boy had already told him the story of how Cheng Xinzhan slew the demon in the Lost Soul Gorge, fought with Cao Jin, and then learned the Zhenwu physical skills from him.

For cultivators in the third realm and above, if they are in a hurry, they can use their primordial spirit to move, and then things can be done very quickly.

The innocent boy also expressed his own guess, that it should be that Cao Jin who took Xinzhan's skin and hair when they were fighting in close combat, and then went back to set up an altar and perform a magic trick, casting the secret magic of the dragon clan, which caused Xinzhan's thunder tribulation to come early.

After listening to the innocent boy's words, the two felt that it made sense, but were still a little confused. After all, this was a disaster, so how could it happen so long in advance?
Now, the two of them felt that there was spying from the Five Realms in the south, which dispelled their doubts.

With the skin and hair, and spending two months setting up the altar, and with the secret method of the dragon clan and the help of a true dragon from the fifth realm, it is not impossible to accomplish this task.

"Of course I have to keep this account in mind."

Dong Shouren said.

"Hopefully this kid will have a blessing in disguise."

Fu Shouzhen looked at Cheng Xinzhan and said.

----

Cheng Xinzhan got a chance to catch his breath, and the second wave of thunder and lightning arrived as expected.

This time, he offered sacrifice to "Taodu".

The "Tian Yisheng Shui" and "Gao Zhen" just now were magic swords, which shared the burden of the golden elixir by swallowing the thunder. Obviously, "Tao Du" could not do this. The only thing "Tao Du" could do and would do was to kill the thunder with the sword light.

Cheng Xinzhan pinched his sword finger, and "Taodu" turned into a red-gold sword light that rushed forward and confronted the thunder.

He wanted to see, during these years he had cultivated "Tao Du" in the Yang Palace and refined the flying sword from tangible to intangible, could this mighty thunder from heaven turn the flying sword from intangible back to tangible?

"Taodu" has never known what fear is. Even when faced with thunder and lightning, it still dares to test its edge.

"boom!"

One was the descent of the Gui Water Tribulation Thunder, the other was the counter-attack of the Yang Fire Sword Light, and when the two collided, they exploded into a sky full of spiritual light. A circle of spiritual power ripples could be seen spreading outward in the void with the naked eye, and a hurricane blew up out of nowhere.

The sword light transformed by "Taodu" was suddenly sunk dozens of feet, and even the sword light was almost dispersed.

It seems that this second wave of thunder is much stronger than the first one.

The golden elixir was naturally frightened when he saw the lightning pushing the sword light downwards and about to hit him. He immediately ran down, and at the same time, a bright light shone from the golden elixir, preparing to withstand the thunder.

However, after running for a distance, Jindan found that the expected thunder and sword light did not fall on him, so he stopped running away.

At this moment, less than three feet away from the golden elixir, the sword light stabilized his body.

The thunder was like a waterfall and waves, and the flying sword was like a stone and a reef. The thunder hit the flying sword, and lightning flashed in all directions.

Most of the thunder was dissipated by the flying sword. At the same time, the thunder was like a grinding wheel, sharpening the flying sword. It was more useful than any sword-raising gourd or sword-sharpening stone.

Cheng Xinzhan was also busy. He used the pure Yang true meaning as ink and the void as paper, and drew one Taoist magic ban after another in the air, which hit the sword light.

He can use the Yin-Yang Palaces as a furnace and Gangsha as fire to forge flying swords. At this moment, he can certainly use the heaven and earth as a furnace and the thunder as fire to refine "Taodu".

Jindan watched from below for a while, and seeing that the flying sword was as motionless as a mountain, he tentatively approached slowly and hid under the flying sword.

There were flying swords facing the thunder directly, and the golden elixir was bathing in the splashing lightning, looking quite relaxed and happy.

The first thunder tribulation passed just like that, and the second one followed immediately. This time, the flying sword did not move at all.

When the second thunder tribulation was halfway through, the flying sword moved, and it actually rose instead of falling!
It's not "Taodu's" character to get beaten all the time.

It was like two dragons wrestling with each other, sometimes the flying sword advanced, sometimes the thunder pressed down, and the golden elixir followed the flying sword all the time, also rising and falling.

By the time the second thunder tribulation ended, the flying sword had already risen more than ten feet.

When the third thunder ended, joy gradually emerged in Cheng Xinzhan's eyes. He looked carefully at the scattered sword light. Under the impact of the thunder, a red-gold sword tip was revealed!
He could feel that the tip of the sword forged by the thunder was sharper than the original tip of "Taodu"!

"Taodu" has never let Cheng Xinzhan down. At this moment, he naturally wants to use the power of the flying sword to refine his soul into a spirit!

What is the primordial spirit?

The primordial spirit is the key to creation. Only by refining the three souls and seven spirits to achieve the primordial true nature can the gap between immortals and mortals be opened.

The Taoist Canon says that human life begins with the essence and blood of the parents, is conceived in the mother's womb, and then a bit of innate ancestral qi germinates in the fetus, which is the nature of the human being.

After a person is born from the mother's womb, he or she is exposed to acquired nutrients and grows into an adult with all the limbs, bones, internal organs and vital energy. The sexual energy is then divided into three souls and seven spirits, each with its own function. Then the person can walk, jump, think and discern.

However, life is real and nature is illusory, and the soul is like a candle in the wind. Although it exists within the body, it is ultimately confined to the physical body.

Mortals can strengthen their bodies to prolong their lives, but the soul is ethereal and unpredictable.

When ordinary people embark on the path of spiritual practice, they call the practice of one's life "health preservation", and the practice of one's nature "cultivating nature".

Both are indispensable, so it is also called the dual cultivation of nature and life.

But truly speaking, what determines the difference between immortals and mortals is still the cultivation of one's nature.

To cultivate one’s nature is to cultivate one’s primordial spirit.

Different schools have different methods for cultivating the soul into the primordial spirit, and thus a school of thought was born that specializes in cultivating the primordial spirit, which is the Yuanshen Dao.

They believe that there is no need to cultivate one's fate, and should focus all their energy on cultivating one's nature and ascend to heaven with their primordial spirit.

That is to say: The original spirit travels on the nine dragons, to the sky and the underworld.

Yuanshen Daoism preaches that even if a person who has not yet shed his body has the ability to move mountains and overturn seas, he is just a ghost guarding a corpse. However, those who have achieved Yuanshen, although they have abandoned their physical body, still have a mighty true spirit. After leaving the body, they can travel the eight poles and control the six qi with their Yuanshen, which can be said to be very free.

There have been many immortals in Yuanshen Dao since ancient times, and its teachings are certainly worth learning. However, there are hundreds of schools of thought and thousands of methods for the interpretation and cultivation of Yuanshen, and Yuanshen Dao is just one of them.

The so-called tangible things are called Yin, and intangible things are called Yang. Therefore, Yin is the key to Yang, so the primordial spirit is also called Yang spirit.

However, yin and yang can be divided infinitely. In yin life, blood is tangible and is yin, and qi is intangible and is yang. In yin blood, heart blood is yang and kidney blood is yin. Similarly, yang can also be divided, that is, yang soul and yin spirit.

The difference in the cultivation of the primordial spirit among various schools lies in the choice between yin and yang.

The Yuanshen Dao requires the Yin body to be abandoned, leaving only the Yang, integrating the three souls and seven spirits into one, and achieving the Yuanshen. Although the Pure Yang Dao does not abandon the physical body, the Yang cultivation is more thorough, refining all the Yin spirits, leaving only the three souls to merge into one, and achieving the Yuanshen.

These two schools are the mainstream of Yuanshen cultivation. Many people are unwilling to give up their physical bodies, but they still refer to the Yuanshen Dao to smelt the three souls and seven spirits. Many people do not have a perfect Pure Yang method, but they also choose to refine the seven spirits.

Because this is the accumulation of weakness into strength.

Only by gathering the power of the soul together can the sublimation of positivity be triggered.

The first benefit this brings is that when fighting, you can use the powerful power of the soul to attack. At the same time, without the scattered three souls and seven spirits, there are fewer weaknesses for the enemy to attack.

There are too many magic spells and magical weapons in this world that can make people lose their souls. If the soul and the spirit are combined into a primordial spirit, the spells that were originally effective on a single soul or a single spirit will now have to deal with a condensed primordial spirit.

This is naturally of great benefit.

However, Cheng Xinzhan did not want to practice Yuanshen Dao or Chunyang Dao. He was more inclined to the teachings of Neidan Dao and Cunshen Dao.

The human body is like a treasure, like the universe. All the qi, blood, bones, organs, acupoints, soul, etc., all have innate divinity, acquired functions, all correspond to the natural universe, and all have meaning of existence. Why is it necessary to remove A and keep B, and divide Yin and Yang?
So his idea is: the seven spirits and all the inner spirits are generals, in charge of the body, belonging to the Yin; the three souls are commanders, in charge of life and death, belonging to the Yang. The three souls each have their own duties, which is the innate number, so Cheng Xinzhan does not choose, does not leave, and does not merge. Therefore: retain the seven spirits and refine the three souls to achieve the three primordial spirits.

This is the path of character cultivation that Cheng Xinzhan chose for himself.

Although in this case, the power of each soul is bound to be inferior to that of the soul and the spirit melted into one, but everything has gains and losses, and everything is bound to be difficult to be perfect. This is the price Cheng Xinzhan is willing to bear.

Besides, he had such treasure books of cultivating nature as "The Secret Instructions of Changsheng Taiyuan Xianshen" and "The Principles of Taiyi Jinhua". He had made breakthroughs along the way and almost lived a full life. Why didn't he dare to take such a path?
There are many methods to refine the soul into the primordial spirit, and I will not go into details. What Cheng Xinzhan chose is the same as Kai Zique, a broad and dangerous path pointed out by predecessors.
Become a primordial spirit after being bathed in thunder.

At this moment, he was doing two things at once. On the one hand, he continued to shoot out spiritual forbidden flying swords into the sword light to refine the flying sword, and on the other hand, he drove his soul out of his body.

Among the three souls, he chose Youjing to transcend the tribulation.

Because in the early stage of cultivation, the fetal light cannot leave the body, Cheng Xinzhan repeatedly uses the ghost spirit and the cool spirit to control the bamboo body, so these two souls must be more resilient. As for why the ghost spirit, Cheng Xinzhan feels that if he must choose between wisdom and emotion as the dominant character, he hopes to choose reason.

Because I still have a great responsibility to shoulder.

So the ghost must take the lead.

Dong Shouren and Fu Shouzhen were somewhat surprised at the choice of this young man when they saw Cheng Xinzhan's ghostly soul flying out alone, but they still chose to support and respect him. They did not say much, but secretly strengthened their magic power to isolate themselves from the prying eyes of the outside world.

Like the golden elixir, the ghost spirit did not face the thunder directly. Instead, it crept under the flying sword, bathed in the splashing lightning, and was reborn with the power of the heavenly calamity.

The soul being struck by thunder is another kind of suffering compared to the golden elixir.
It was like charcoal fire entering the eyes, like long needles entering the ears, like Coptis chinensis entering the mouth. It was as if a water and land Taoist temple had been opened in my mind. The noise was very loud, but I couldn't hear what was being said clearly. From time to time, some fragments of childhood nightmares flashed through my mind.

All the pain combined together is so sickening.

Cheng Xinzhan ignited the divine fire, guarded his mind tightly, and silently recited "The Scripture of Purity and Tranquility Spoken by the Most High Lord Lao" in his heart.

The thunder rumbled, but Cheng Xinzhan recited the scriptures silently.

The fourth, the fifth, the sixth.

As thunderbolts fell one after another, some changes were also happening quietly.

The blazing white golden elixir is now even more dazzling and bright, with dragons and tigers circling around it.

There is a little man sitting on the golden elixir. The illusory soul has become solid and real. There is a golden mirror wheel hanging behind the little man's head. Now, we dare not call him the ghost soul anymore, we should call him the ghost spirit.

The "Taodu" flying sword that provided shelter for the two has also been completely transformed from an invisible sword light into a tangible sword weapon.

The shape of the sword remained the same, but the color of the blade had changed from scarlet red to scarlet gold. It was now shining brightly under the lightning, extremely dazzling.

In this way, the hidden dangers left by "Taodu" being broken into three parts have been completely eliminated!
Now let's look at the three objects under the thunder, which can be said to be:

The sword is bright and the red lightning is blazing;
God is bright and spotless, pure and yang;
The cinnabar is shining, and the light is shining at noon.

Cheng Xinzhan was very satisfied. Although "Taodu" remained silent, he knew that the flying sword had reached its limit after withstanding six thunder strikes.

After the sixth thunder tribulation ended, Cheng Xinzhan first put away his Youjing soul, and then put away his flying sword "Taodu".

Then, he summoned "Youdu" and drove Shuangling out of his body for tempering.

"Youdu" is good at hiding its shape and its ability to pierce bones and burn blood. Now it is facing the thunder directly. The difference between its performance and that of "Taodu" is like heaven and earth. It just barely survived the seventh thunder tribulation.

However, although "Youdu" cannot compare with "Taodu" in terms of the length of time it takes to cultivate and the level of its foundation, it was taken from Cheng Xinzhan himself and was tempered by the Gangsha in the Yin Palace. It was only a step away from being refined from the tangible to the intangible. Now that it was hit by this calamity thunder, it had successfully overcome this hurdle.

After the seventh thunderbolt ended, "Youdu" suddenly turned into a purple-red sword light, coming and going without a trace, and changing intangibly.

"Youdu" has reached its limit, so he put it away.

When the eighth heavenly tribulation came, he summoned "Fire Refining Crimson Sky" and the other three magic swords of earth, wood, and gold to resist the thunder.

Due to their attributes, these four magic swords can neither absorb the thunder like the Water Sword and the Thunder Sword, nor can they shatter the thunder like the Yin-Yang Flying Swords. They can only resist the thunder with the sword energy stored up for a long time.

When the ninth thunderbolt ended, the sword energy of the four magic swords was completely exhausted. But at the same time, after being tempered by the thunderbolt, the quality and spirituality of the four magic swords were also improved.

In addition, Shuang Ling also successfully transformed into a primordial spirit after experiencing the baptism of the last three thunders.

At this point, two waves of thunder had passed, and except for "Qiu Shui", all of Cheng Xinzhan's swords had been used, and two souls were refined into primordial spirits.

As long as we can defeat the last wave, our mission will be complete.

But how to resist?
Cheng Xinzhan didn't have much time to catch his breath and think, as the third wave of thunder was coming.

This time, Cheng Xinzhan summoned his bamboo body.

The soul of the fetus enters the brain of the bamboo body, and the dragon-tiger golden elixir enters the belly of the bamboo body.

The bamboo body acts as an umbrella, carrying the soul and the golden elixir to face the thunder.

After all, it is the treasure of Meiji Mountain that has been passed down from generation to generation. It was bathed in the thunder, but remained unscathed, and survived the first four thunders of the third wave.

Finally, lightning flashed from the seven orifices of the bamboo body, and Cheng Xinzhan knew that the time had come.

He cherished the bamboo body and put it away.

When the fifth thunderbolt fell, Cheng Xinzhan did the same thing. This time, he sacrificed the mountain-guarding talisman of Juqu Mountain, the Shangqing Talisman, and the Taishang Tiandu Talisman of the highest rank.

The mighty and powerful Thunderbolt Lord enters the Dharma talisman and manifests his Dharma image. His original spirit enters his brain and his golden elixir enters his belly, and they overcome the calamity together.

Four more thunderbolts passed by, and Cheng Xinzhan saw the true shape of the talisman through the Dharma image. The talisman was already surrounded by electric light, and it had reached its limit.

At this time, the Taiguang Soul also transformed into a brilliant primordial spirit.

After thirty-nine thunder tribulations, only the last one remains.

This time, Cheng Xinzhan offered nothing. Unexpectedly, he even put away the golden elixir.

The golden elixir, sword, soul, bamboo body, and talisman body have all survived the thunder. How can one's own physical body not join in the fun?
"boom!"

The last lightning bolt was more powerful than any of the previous ones, and it struck Cheng Xinzhan's body directly without any obstruction.

After experiencing the pain of the golden elixir and the soul, the physical body did not seem to be that unbearable. His consciousness was almost instantly withdrawn from the pain, and then devoted to the understanding of the thunder.

He practiced the Five Thunder Technique, so how could he miss the opportunity to experience the thunder?

As he thought about it, Lord Dangmo Pili, General Xiaguan Water Thunder, and General Qiuguan Divine Thunder all took action. The three thunder chariots started and ended at the nose, gallbladder, and forehead, and passed through the heart. They ran in Cheng Xinzhan's inner world, with lightning and blood interweaving and stirring endlessly.

The calamity thunder injected into the body like a mountain torrent. Part of it was transformed into thunder qi by the three thunder chariots and stored in the thunder house, and another part was sent to the Huangting to refine the golden elixir.

This process lasted for a full sixty breaths. Cheng Xinzhan's body was bustling as if the world was created. However, in the eyes of Dong Shouren and Fu Shouzhen, this last thunderbolt, which was also the most powerful one, caused the smallest response.

The good child of my family was just suspended in the air, and he didn't even frown even when the thunder struck him. He just got through it safely, as if it was just a breeze blowing on his face.

Afterwards, the rumbling thunder that had been raging in the land of western Hunan for a long time finally subsided, the lightning gradually faded, and the bright yellow clouds of disaster slowly dissipated into the void.

The magic circle constructed by Dong Shouren and Fu Shouzhen blocked the sight of the onlookers, but none of them left.

Some people here kept silent, observing the four realms carefully; some people whispered to each other, guessing the identity of the person who was undergoing the tribulation; and some people just wanted to stay and see the final outcome. With such a big fuss, could they survive the thunder tribulation?
As the thunder gradually faded away, everyone present guessed that the man had successfully washed the elixir when they saw the two Dharma images sitting cross-legged in the void like motionless mountains.

He washed the elixir in the dense forest of western Hunan, and even troubled his senior masters to come and protect him. This must have been a temporary and hasty calamity, but he actually managed to get through it!

An expression of admiration appeared on everyone's face, and they were thinking in their hearts how to congratulate the two Fourth Realm Profound Masters in a non-conventional way. If they could take the opportunity to establish contact with Sanqing Mountain, that would be even better.

Just as everyone was distracted, Dong Shouren and Fu Shouzhen also removed the concealing formation and their own Dharma images, revealing Cheng Xinzhan to everyone's sight. Then, everyone saw this young Taoist with his hands behind his back chanting,
"The robbers and robbers have been eliminated,
The triple-thousand-nine thunders only cause tides.

The jade furnace is not subject to the dust and dirt of the world.
Smiling, I watch the Yuanshen sitting in the purple sky!"
