Chapter 261 Reunion
Della...Della...
The moon was dimly covered by clouds, and the moonlight that shone down was ominously gloomy. The field, which was full of cheers just now, was filled with magical lights from all walks of life flying everywhere, but now there was only violence and screams.
Draco leaned against a sturdy tree, the cool evening breeze blowing his light golden hair that shone even in the faint moonlight. In the eyes of Leah and many others, he was still just a child, but a year later, he had grown taller, and his originally delicate appearance had acquired the noble and elite style of his father.
Moreover, since the news of Harry Potter's depression spread throughout Hogwarts, and Draco could clearly realize that Harry's depression was related to his words, the arrogance and willfulness on his face gradually disappeared. Coupled with the lack of response from his beloved, sadness began to climb onto his face all day long, and his childishness disappeared, leaving only arrogance.
Draco has become more charming, but no amount of charm can fill his worries.
Now he was leaning against a tree, his eyes were filled with confusion and his heart was a mess. Like every day of this year, he would always think about Della. At first it was pure longing, then it turned into worry about her being alone in a foreign country, and finally it was fear that her love was no longer there.
Until now, at this moment when he was probably closest to Della in this difficult year, he didn't even dare to think about panic, because every thought that Della no longer missed him or loved him could crush him to death.
So Draco could only keep thinking of the name "Della", using this beloved name to interrupt the infinite panic in his heart.
"Draco—"
A faint call was heard, and the voice was so familiar that Draco thought he had developed the stage of auditory hallucination. He squinted his eyes in confusion and did not look back, afraid to face the reality of his delusion.
"Draco—"
The echo of the previous call had not yet faded away when another call came out. This call was even lighter than the previous one, as if it could be blown away by the wind. Draco slowly turned around.
His eyebrows were still wrinkled in confusion, and he met a pair of eyes that were also wrinkled because of hesitation and guilt. The pair of calm black eyes that he had been thinking about day and night were now in front of him.
Draco's eyes widened slightly and he froze.
Della frowned even more. The interests she had considered before and the provocative words from Maggie disappeared the moment she came face to face with Draco. She was now very nervous. Her ability to respond on the spot, which she was so proud of, was completely offline at this moment. She was almost desperately waiting for the judgment that her boyfriend might give her.
But she inevitably felt a sense of relief. If this relationship, which many parties thought was wrong, ended...
----
Della's thoughts stopped. There was no crying, no questioning, no scolding. Draco just took a step forward and hugged her gently, and then the hug became stronger and stronger, and in a trance Della returned to the night when they first fell together in the Forbidden Forest, hugging each other tightly.
My heart was beating like it did that night.
Draco's arms gradually tightened, and even though he was taller than Della, he still lowered his head and buried it in Della's neck. During the countless panic attacks of being close yet distant over the past year, Della became more and more the superior one in their relationship.
Draco closed his eyes and was not aware of this. He only knew that the moment he saw Della, all his negative emotions were suppressed to the bottom of the Black Lake. His mind was blank, and only joy and shock intertwined to stir his nerves.
Della recovered and put her hands, which were suddenly held in the air, on the boy's broad back. She closed her eyes and leaned over. She didn't comfort him, explain or apologize. She just said the words that Draco needed most right now, "I miss you so much. I have always missed you, Draco."
The emotions accumulated over the past few days finally found an outlet. Draco's eyes became moist. He hugged Della, almost rubbing her into his body. "It's been too long, Della, too long..."
Draco still didn't ask any questions. The satisfaction of having his beloved in his arms overshadowed everything. Even though he was still willful and felt aggrieved, he didn't have any intention of breaking this beautiful moment. So he just kept murmuring, "I've always wanted to see you, I want you to come back, I miss you so much..."
"I'm back, Draco," Della hugged Draco, tears welling up in her eyes. She responded to the emotion that had been waiting for her for a long time and soothed his emotions, "I won't leave this time."
"Don't, don't... don't leave me again..." Draco said, his voice very soft, as if he was begging.
Della forced a low "hmm" out of her throat, and the brokenness of her lover actually made her choke, but she didn't want to add to the already sad atmosphere, so she didn't speak, just responded with a "hmm", then raised her hand to touch Draco's light blonde hair, slowly following his emotions.
They hugged each other without saying anything more, just purely feeling the joy of each other's presence, until the silver letter in Della's pocket vibrated, and the two of them separated as if awakened from a dream.
"I'm using that, too. My dad is messaging people on it every day." Draco quickly turned his head and pressed his eyes, then immediately looked at Della, greedily cherishing every glimpse of the real Della. He took out his silver letter, "Let's exchange numbers, Della..."
Draco felt a little embarrassed when talking about Della's name, because he had pronounced "Della" too many times this year, which made this name unilaterally endowed with excessive emotions in his heart. Now, just pronouncing this name normally made him feel an inexplicable sense of shame.
"..." Della took out the silver letter, this communication tool that could have allowed her to contact Draco a long time ago. Suddenly, she was speechless. The guilt broke through the joy of reunion and surged up. She didn't look at who sent her the message, and silently exchanged the silver letter code with Draco.
"Don't be sad," Draco looked at Della who was silent and a little dazed. He thought that his girlfriend had not recovered from the sadness of being forced to separate in the past. Instead, he comforted Della, "We are together again, and that's good enough."
Della looked into Draco's light grey eyes which were full of affection even in the night, and became even more dazed. She subconsciously raised one hand and cupped Draco's thin cheek, slowly stroking it with her thumb.
Why, why did Draco love her so much?
The joy of reunion disappeared at this moment. Della, who felt that she had never invested enough in this relationship, felt fortunate but also had a strong sense of unworthiness.
Being held by Della like this, with their faces facing each other, Draco finally felt a little shy. He licked his lips and his eyes began to look around randomly, but he did not make any resistance. The happiness in his heart made him cooperate with everything his girlfriend did.
puff-
A dull sound broke the ambiguous atmosphere between the two, and the subsequent shouting and concerned voices separated the two. They both looked towards the source of the sound, and Draco felt that the voice was very familiar.
"Where are you Ron? Oh, we're so stupid - Lumos!"
The narrow light from the tip of the wand illuminated Ron lying on the ground, and also illuminated Della and Draco under the tree. Harry and Hermione both opened their eyes wide.
"Damn it!" Ron, who had tripped over a tree root and curled up on the ground in pain, forgot to get up. He shouted, "That 'overprotective' female man should be here right now!"
"What are you yelling about, Weasley?" Draco frowned and took a step forward, hiding Della behind him.
However, his step forward did not make anyone back down. Harry and Hermione both walked towards them, and Ron also walked over covered in dust after he got up. They ignored Draco and shouted Della's name, saying "we need to talk" over and over again.
"I don't think now is a good time to talk." Unavoidably, Della calmly stood in front of Draco, the green light of the curse flickering in the night behind her, "I will go back to school this semester, and-"
Della dragged out her tone and smiled politely, "Many things are not yet answered."
The expression on Hermione's face suddenly became complicated. Harry's throat rolled, but he still took a step forward.
As Harry moved forward, Draco subconsciously moved to the side. Because of Harry's previous depression, he didn't know how to face him.
"I can not ask questions first," Harry said, looking at Della sincerely with his green eyes, "but I must tell you that I have never thought of letting you leave Hogwarts or leave Country Y. No matter what, I always regard you as a good friend."
"..." Della narrowed her eyes slightly and turned her eyes to one side. She did not respond directly to Harry's words, "I know, Harry."
Such a bland response made Harry's eyes dim. Hermione was a little aggrieved, but thinking of the letter she had sent earlier that received no response, she stopped talking. Only Ron walked to the front.
"We've been worried about you and tried every way to contact you, but when we finally got to see you, you only wanted to be with that annoying guy next to you and didn't want to talk to us at all," Ron said angrily. "You didn't trample on our sincerity like this. We didn't even -"
Ron's gaze fell on the night sky, which flashed green light from time to time. Hermione noticed this and realized what Ron was going to say. She hurriedly held Ron's arm, but this did not stop Ron from speaking frankly. "We didn't even ask you about the disgusting things that happened to you later, because we all thought it was absolutely impossible for you to take the lead in doing these things, but I'm not sure now-"
"Ron!" Hermione interrupted Ron and hurried to look at Della's face. She knew that such words would put Della more and more in opposition to them, and she still didn't think that Della would do such things involving racial discrimination.
Under the moonlight, Draco's expression was a little unnatural, but Della's expression remained calm. There was no hurt, guilt, or arrogance on her face. She was still as calm as Della in Hogwarts before.
"Calm down, let's talk next time," Della said, without showing any intention of explaining. She took Draco's hand and nodded gently to the Iron Triangle. "I look forward to seeing you next time."
With that, without waiting for the trio to respond, she Apparated away with Draco, landing in front of her tent.
In the chaotic scene, Della's tent was not affected at all and even looked more luxurious in the ruins. Draco looked at the tent and then at Della, who was now in a high position of power. As a young master, he rarely felt inferior.
"You want to... take me in..." he said awkwardly, with anticipation flashing in his light gray eyes, but before Della could reply, a huge green light rose into the night sky in his eyes. It was a terrifying skeleton with a snake spitting out of its mouth.
Della turned her head according to Draco's reaction of widening eyes, and she saw the hideous Dark Mark. Before she could react, another red light rose up, and the modified red flag she had seen in Durmstrang squeezed out the Dark Mark and stopped in mid-air.
In the distance, you can hear cheers and shouts.
Della raised her eyebrows, which were about to frown, and didn't intend to care. She just thought that tomorrow's newspaper would be very lively.
"Don't worry about that," she held Draco's hand and walked towards the tent, "You are my boyfriend, of course I can invite you over."
Draco blushed and felt like he was back to the state he was in at school a year ago when he would always feel a little shy because of Della's words. He really liked that kind of plain, everyday sweetness.
Maggie and her men were still in the study. Apart from the current chaos, they also had a lot to talk about, because the sniper plan against the wizarding world of Country Y was not limited to the communications industry.
The sniper plan was a targeted statement made internally by them, which did not seem so greedy. After all, everything that started would be promoted across the board, and they just chose the wizarding world of Country Y to be the unlucky ones to take the lead.
"Would you like some tea?" Della asked Draco. "My brother is still in a meeting. Let's take a break first. I'll introduce you to each other when he comes out."
"Today?" Draco felt Della's attention to him, and while he was delighted, he immediately and nervously checked his Muggle suit, feeling that all the wrinkles were too noticeable.
"It's okay, don't be too nervous," Della motioned Draco to sit down. She made tea while she said, "My brother can't interfere with my emotional affairs."
Maggie would always use the rightness of interests to provoke her, and she would always cleverly point out the "rightness" point, making Della ignore those interests that she didn't care about at all.
The moment she saw Draco and grasped the passionate emotions again, Della finally saw through it.
The silver letter shook twice again. Della slowly placed the brewed tea in front of Draco before taking out the silver letter to look at it.
Rarely, the person who sent her a message was Zhou Yushi.
Because they were co-authors, Della would always send the latest silver letters to Zhou Yushi and Livia and save her contact information in advance. Livia would share her life with her when she remembered, while Zhou Yushi would only send her polite messages when he received new silver letters and on holidays.
Della clicked on Zhou Yushi's message with a little surprise. He sent her two messages, each time with only one sentence and one picture.
'Riddle, do you have any new alchemy projects recently? I feel like I just came across a work related to you, but I don't quite understand it. I'm really curious (smile).'
Below this sentence was a secretly taken side-shot of a girl with silver hair and green eyes. Della thought that pretty face was very familiar, but the familiar black snake mark on the girl's neck left her no time to study it in detail. She slightly opened her eyes and enlarged the photo in disbelief, staring in shock at this mark that should not still exist in the world.
Della's hands began to tremble. She exited the photo and looked at the next message from Zhou Yushi.
'It was a very chaotic night. I rescued this frightened Slytherin lady. She said you were her friend. Do you want me to take her there or should you send someone to pick her up, Riddle?'
Della clicked on the picture and saw Sadolin sitting on the ground. The edge of her skirt was torn.
Della frowned, paused for a moment, and then replied to Zhou Yushi, "Thank you for sending Sadolin back, Zhou, I don't have any help here."
Zhou Yushi immediately replied, "With pleasure, Riddle."
Della's fingers unconsciously stroked the silver letter. In her peripheral vision, Draco was holding a teacup and was still nervous about meeting Della's brother. A sense of separation came over her, shaking Della's decision to be with Draco.
Della shook her head, forced herself to get rid of the thought, and focused her attention back on the photos sent by Zhou Yushi, eager to get more information from Zhou Yushi.
