Chapter 328 Accident in the Water
When the water snakes were swimming in the lake, Fleur was entangled by Grindylow, and Krum was looking for direction in the water plants. Demetrius, who often went diving during Durmstrang's school days, keenly felt the change in the water flow. He looked up subconsciously in simple short-sleeved shirt and shorts, and his cheek was brushed by the flowing water plants.
The water grass wrapped up the bubbles of the Bubble Head Charm on his face and moved away. Dmitri hurriedly reinforced the Bubble Head Charm, while his eyes kept following the water grass with bubbles. He outlined the contour and found that the water flow in front of him was snake-shaped.
Snake, Della Riddle.
Demetrius frowned, and when the water snake was about to finish swimming in front of him, he subconsciously raised his wand and said, "Shadow."
A small circle of light merged into the snake's tail that passed before his eyes. Dmitri tapped his eyes with his magic wand again, and suddenly, a fluorescent light that was invisible to others appeared in front of his eyes.
No matter how good a diver is, he can't catch up with the magic water snake, but as long as he knows the direction, it is much better than running around aimlessly.
Seeing that the spell was successful, Dmitri swam further upstream, away from the dangerous aquatic plants and also more convenient for him to observe the crooked fluorescent lines caused by the water snakes. He chose the better path and moved forward.
Dmitri's perception and reaction ability saved him a lot of trouble. Although he could not catch up with the speed of the water snake, he was far ahead of the other contestants who were still groping around. He was the second one to arrive at the place guarded by the mermaid.
Where Draco was once tied, there were only floating broken ropes left. The merman with green face and fangs shouted again, "You can only take one away." Demetri understood. He swam to the feet of Sadolin, whose black hair was floating like seaweed, raised his wand and used the cutting spell.
The edge of the cutting spell deformed slightly in the water, but it did not affect the final result. Sadolin was free. Dmitri quickly paddled his legs higher, firmly grasped Sadolin's arm and brought her up.
There was no more snow in Hogwarts in February, but the water in the Black Lake was still cold. However, it was not as cold as the ice in Durmstrang Lake. Demetri felt like a fish in water and did not feel any pressure. He looked at Sadolin's face which looked even more beautiful in the water, and even thought about the time they fell into the water which led to their real communication.
Then he taught her to read and write, and read to her. Because the water at Durmstrang was too cold, he did not let Sadolin share his hobby of scuba diving. Then, when they arrived at Hogwarts, under the premise that they were both ordered not to meet again, he taught Sadolin to scuba dive instead, and this thing that he liked in the first place became the connection between their dates.
Dmitri has been enjoying this sweetness between guilt and self-doubt.
The reason why Dmitri called Riddle's words, which he did not agree with, as an authoritative "order" was because he felt that Sadolin could live a more stable life, while he would only have various realities that he had to accept.
Now people in the organization always say that he is reliable and amazing, and that he slowly found a way to hold on as a child, but his mental condition does not match his outward reliability. When he was high-spirited in the past, he felt that the world he lived in was the absolute truth. This slightly extreme belief almost destroyed him at the beginning of the incident.
What keeps him here is responsibility, the responsibility for the mess. Dmitri actually doesn't know whether what he once said to Della Riddle, "I won't give up my beliefs," will have any consequences. In other words, he doesn't know whether maintaining everyone in the form of an organization will have any impact in the future. Most of the time, he only thinks about the topic of "being alive."
In front of everyone close to him, Dmitri could use faith to teach them hope, so that they would have some hope in the reality where they would always be hungry and cold. That was all correct teaching, but without the premise of survival, everything seemed like a castle in the air.
He was like a match in a fairy tale, burning himself to give them a temporarily warm dream, but once the match went out, there was ice, snow and death.
Dmitri was actually afraid that Sadolin's proximity would turn her into a match, and eventually go out prematurely.
But why couldn't he control himself at all?
Dmitri felt that he was despicable in this, and unlike the innocent Sadolin, he saw the shadow behind it, but he still chose to get close to Sadolin.
"Ah--Ouch!" At this moment, something unexpected happened. Sadolin, who was supposed to remain unconscious, opened her eyes. The spell on her body that allowed her to stay unhindered underwater also lost its effect in an instant. A large mouthful of water was sucked into her nose. She looked up at the lake surface which was still some distance away and struggled in panic.
Dumbledore's spells are very advanced, so normally no accidents would happen. Unfortunately, Sadolin was transformed from a basilisk with strong magic resistance, so even the most powerful spells would be reduced in power when cast on her.
The sudden change in front of him made Demetri open his eyes wide. He had no time to think about the reason. After his arm holding the wand was slightly raised almost imperceptibly, he put his head forward. The bubbling spell failed under the pressure, and he touched Sadolin's lips, giving her a deep breath. At the same time, his legs moved upward faster. As a frequent diver, he just estimated that the distance was the distance he could take Sadolin up.
The lips under the water were not warm, but still soft, so soft that it reminded Sadolin of the beige pajamas she first saw as an adult. As she thought of the warm color, the lips she felt also became hot for some reason, and her body, which was soaked in the cold water, also warmed up.
So when the lips that had breathed her life away left, Sadolin subconsciously moved closer, and their lips touched again.
This time, it should be called a kiss.
Dmitri was out of control, his legs still moving upwards, and through lips that were getting closer and closer, he was still breathing into Sadolin, but what was exchanged was no longer just air.
Sadolin did not struggle, but cooperated. She remembered the night when Dmitri brought her to the boat, and the heat that was close to her nose that night. She did not understand love very well, but at this moment she had a belief that "love is like this", because she could hear her and Dmitri's heartbeat.
Dong-dong-dong-
Dong-dong-dong-
And this time, she was sure that this heartbeat was given to each other by them.
When the daylight was just around the corner, they barely regained their senses and separated, then suddenly jumped out of the water in an embrace. Fresh air and warm cheers greeted them. The two of them were panting, their eyes only on each other.
For Sadolin, the first kiss was an accident, and the second kiss was sincere.
She found the emotion she longed for and was happy to discover that she had it.
But, Dmitri is such a good man, how can he feel at ease owning her when his origin is stained with blood?
For Dmitri, the first kiss was deliberate, the second was indulgence.
The wand of inaction is his shame, and the heart without regret is his meanness.
What a wonderful Sadolin! How can he feel at ease owning her when the road ahead is full of thorns?
