Chapter 314: Della Can't Calm Down
Once Barty Crouch's matter was over, there was the tedious cleanup work to do. Fortunately, it was still the Christmas holidays, so little Barty still had some free time to leave Hogwarts for a short while to send his disobedient father back and deal with another trouble at the same time.
"I think a doll named Son will stabilize Mr. Crouch's condition," Barty said with his eyes flashing, revealing a terrible jealousy and madness. "I think this little Abate is also happy to have another father."
At that time, Lytia had already sat next to her father Edward and changed into a long dress. She sneered under the gaze of Maggie and Della, "Don't use our family name, and he is just a rag doll named father."
"What do you think, Gulemer?" Edward knew that Barty was being unreasonable and that this was a suggestion that might not be implemented, but he still asked Gulemer, "Do you want to stay with Mr. Crouch?"
This man had the greatest malice, and while he seemed to be offering a choice, he was actually laying out a ladder for Gulemer to step into darkness.
Della saw it clearly from the side. She rubbed her knuckles with her hands on her knees. In her peripheral vision, she saw Maggie's thumb and index finger touching each other. She turned her head to look over, and the two of them looked at each other with understanding, and both of them curled their lips silently.
Gulem was lying on the floor, his hands still holding onto old Batty, but his empty eyes showed that he was gradually becoming alienated from the unconscious old Batty. He was very confused. The collapse of the Forbidden Forest at night and the unexpected parental pity for their children had plunged him into it. Now that he had regained his senses, Gulem saw the falsity and danger of this pity.
However, apart from this falsehood, he seemed to have nothing. The two people who should have been closest to him, one did not even look at him, and although the other one looked at him, the gaze was not only cold, but he also suddenly felt a little disgusted.
If I stay with Mr. Crouch, I might meet Voldemort, which would be dangerous. However, if I don't go, can I escape danger?
Gulem felt that the loneliness and darkness that he would have to face all the time if he stayed in this place would destroy him countless times.
Gulem didn't reply, but his silence expressed an attitude.
"Haha," Maggie couldn't help laughing at Gulem's psychological entanglement that no one cared about, and decided on the matter directly, "Let's get it over with. After all, it takes up some time," he said, looking at little Batty in a friendly manner, "It will be very convenient to use it as an excuse."
Little Batty's eyes lit up. It wasn't that he cared about having one more Gulem as a bargaining chip. He felt extremely honored for Maggie's indulgence of him, and he trusted him a little more.
Della paid attention to Lytia and Edward and found that Lytia just rolled her eyes, while Edward's expression did not change at all. She shrugged and acquiesced to the decision.
"Let's get one each," she said to Maggie, turning her head. "Leave Gullem Abate to me. I will make him a man of good character with silence."
Winning over people is one thing, but guarding against Voldemort's Legilimency is another. Although both of them have extraordinary eyes, Della doesn't want to divide her soul into other people's bodies, so such things are left to Maggie. However, she has tampered with Gullam's soul before, so it won't be difficult to do some more here.
"No problem," Maggie stood up. Almost at the same time, Gulemer lost consciousness, and Old Batty pushed him up again. "Stay away for a while," Maggie said to the other two Abates present. "But there is nothing that requires you to be there later. You can go home. If you have anything to discuss, write to me."
"Let's go home, Liti." When facing his daughter, Edward's indifference and seriousness disappeared instantly, and he left here with his proud daughter without looking back.
Although I can't understand Edward Abate, he is still a good father.
Della thought so as she looked at the backs of the father and daughter.
I have to find a chance to talk to Edward about how to develop Lytia's personality. It would be best if I could get some clues on how to make Della more self-reliant.
Maggie also looked at the father and daughter, with different thoughts in his mind. He had just cast a few flirtatious glances at Lytia, but they were all ignored. He immediately realized that Lytia really only treated him as a temporary entertainment, and this woman must have had a lot of entertainments. He didn't feel anything about it, after all, he was not a single-minded person, but he was also impressed by Lytia's free and easy attitude. Then he thought of Della and her terrible boyfriend, and hoped that Della could also have the awareness of treating men only as entertainment.
She is still in adolescence, and has only been in contact with one boy, Draco. If she puts in more effort, there should be a chance to correct Della's views on love, right?
Maggie was thinking, while pinching old Barty's chin and looking him in the eye, that she would take it step by step, and eventually Della would take off the annoying ring on her hand.
After Della finished her work, she left the space to Maggie and Little Buddy. In an occasion, Little Buddy only needed someone who was close to Maggie, and that person was naturally himself. Della was quite considerate and cooperative, so she slowly returned to the room.
After entering the room, she lingered in front of the bookshelf for a while. After running her fingers over a row of books one by one, she once again felt sorry for Karkaroff's poor taste in books. Finally, a Muggle novel brought from Maggie in the corner saved her from boredom. Della began to read realistic novels mixed with various love stories.
When they had turned about a third of the way through, there was a knock on the door, and Draco came in right after that. "What are you doing, Della?"
Before, during class, it was Della who waited for Draco to finish class. Now, during the holidays, it was more likely that Draco couldn't stand the loneliness and came to play with Della. And, ahem, they just kissed yesterday, a kiss that was completely different from the kiss where lips gently touched cheeks...
The kiss seemed to light a fire in Draco's heart, making him want to stay close to Della even more.
"The nerd is reading." Della closed the book and said cheerfully. She looked at Draco, her gaze lingering on the door that had been open for a while.
Harry's gaze is very distinctive, but the invisibility cloak makes his hiding method undistinguished...
Della was facing Draco, but her eyes kept moving slightly as she sensed the change in her line of sight, telling Harry that his whereabouts had been exposed.
"Reading again," after closing the door, Draco sat down next to Della obediently, grabbed her hand that was pressing on the book cover, and leaned closer than before. He stuck closely to Della, showing the shy but not at all impatient look of a young boy to the extreme.
Draco's hands were still very well behaved, but this close distance could hint at some of his expectations, such as his beloved girlfriend snuggling into his arms, a kiss more passionate than yesterday, and perhaps next, his hands could be a little less well behaved...
At the age of fifteen, Draco is slowly approaching adulthood and has also reached the age where he is curious and exploring adulthood.
Della shook Draco's hand back, smiled at him, and moved her body to the side, away from the boy's burning heat, to express her attitude. She was actually less shy and resistant than ordinary people about certain things, but she had a clearer understanding of her age. The classes at Beauxbatons also taught her the most appropriate age to break through the boundaries, which was at least after graduation, so she currently only accepted hugs and kisses, and did not intend to give any hope for further progress for the time being.
After all, the bottom line is broken step by step, and the plan collapses step by step. Even for lovers, tolerance can only be moderate, and what should be considered more is one's own physical health and psychological feelings.
"We are still students, and our job is to study," Della said seriously, "I think it's good to read more books."
Draco understood Della's attitude. It would be a lie to say he wasn't disappointed, but he turned his body and legs to the outside at the same time, and the distance between him and Della returned to normal. "I will also take a look. I will definitely take a look before the exam."
He said it in a joking tone, with a deep seriousness in his grey eyes as he looked at Della. The moment he distanced himself from Della, Draco immediately realized that he truly loved Della, so of course he had to respect Della's wishes, and those momentary impulses were completely irrelevant.
Just like this, the physical distance between them increased, but the spiritual distance between them became closer.
In such a heated atmosphere, Della was actually willing to shorten the physical distance a little. If there were no other people in the room, a tender kiss with nose touching nose would happen in the sunlight blurred by the frosted glass.
But there is no if, and Della couldn't be intimate with her boyfriend in front of a third person. She finally coaxed Draco away with soft words, and called Harry's name after Draco left, feeling regretful that today could have been more perfect.
"Have you seen enough, Harry?" Della, who was a little dissatisfied, finally teased Harry, "It's just the two of us. Take off your invisibility cloak that you never get tired of."
"I, I didn't mean to..." Harry's messy hair first appeared in mid-air, and then his embarrassed voice and his red face appeared together, "I came here today because I have something to ask you, Della."
As he spoke, he looked at Della with his emerald eyes, and the light brought by the persistence in his eyes completely covered his still red cheeks.
