Chapter 344: Goblet of Fire Voting after Dinner
After the dinner, the crowd in the hall quickly gathered around the Goblet of Fire.
The rough wooden cup stood quietly in the center, with blue flames jumping. A circle of golden age lines was drawn around the outside of the cup, with a faint light floating, mysterious and unpredictable.
"Is this the Goblet of Fire?" Harry stood on tiptoe to take a look, his eyes flashing with eagerness.
"Don't even think about it, Harry. You can't get in." Draco glanced at him. "But it will definitely be fun to watch. Look at all the people around. I don't believe that no one wants to try."
It turns out that there are indeed people who don't believe in evil.
The first to try it were several Hogwarts seniors. They were obviously dissatisfied with the restrictive age limit, and they gathered outside the Goblet of Fire to discuss countermeasures.
"Will this line really stop us?" A sixth-year Ravenclaw student frowned.
His friend encouraged him, "Can't we even try?"
"Of course we can try. After all, we are wizards with brains. We have to try it to know the result."
The Ravenclaw student considered it for a moment, then stepped across the golden age line.
Immediately, a powerful rebound force bounced him out!
"Waaaaaa!" The Ravenclaw boy flew out, hit the long table behind him, and fell face down on the ground.
There was a burst of laughter all around.
"Hahaha, look at his face!"
"I told you not to try it. Did you see that? Hahaha!"
Then, more than one student dared to try, they tried various methods, but all failed.
A sixth-year Slytherin tried to levitate his name, but the Goblet of Fire bounced the paper right out and threw it back in his face like trash.
Several Hufflepuff fifth-year students tried to use the Disillusionment Charm to sneak in, but found that the age line simply ignored the Disillusionment Charm and still bounced them away.
What's even more exaggerated is that there was a Gryffindor who tried to make the Goblet of Fire "fly over" by itself, but before the spell was completely finished, the Goblet of Fire emitted a blue flame and burned a black hole in the caster's robe.
The Weasley twins were obviously the most unwilling to admit defeat. They took out two bottles of aging potion from their pockets, showed them proudly to the crowd, and then drank them.
They looked at each other, stepped into the age line, and confidently threw the parchment with their names on it into the Goblet of Fire.
The Goblet of Fire jumped and swallowed the note.
They smiled at each other and were about to show off——
"boom!"
The next second, the two were thrown out by an invisible force and fell face down on the ground. When they struggled to raise their heads, the whole audience burst into laughter.
They had turned into two young old men. Not only that, their faces were covered with long, messy beards, as thick as those of goats that had been cast under a hair-growth spell.
"Hahahaha!"
"This is truly the youngest Santa Claus in the magical world!"
The whole room was filled with students laughing so hard that even Draco couldn't help but twitch his lips.
The Weasley twins got up from the ground covered in dust, retreated to the side in embarrassment, and began to try to shave off their beards using various magic.
"It seems that the aging potion is not suitable for the Goblet of Fire." Hermione said to Amanta while laughing.
"This is such a... interesting prank." Amanta couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at the twins' gray-haired appearance.
Seamus on the other side tried to hold back his laughter and patted Ron's shoulder. "Hey, Ron, your brother's beard is really nice! Would you consider growing one?"
Ron's mouth twitched: "I don't have these two brothers..."
Although lower grade students were unable to vote, a large number of people still gathered around the Goblet of Fire to watch.
This time, it was the turn of the seventh graders who were truly qualified to take the stage.
The students of Durmstrang seemed particularly calm. They lined up one by one and walked forward, casting their names into the Goblet of Fire without hesitation.
The most eye-catching among them is naturally Viktor Krum.
When he stood in front of the Goblet of Fire, the entire hall was silent for a moment, and then erupted into a commotion.
"Oh my god, it's Krum!"
"He really wants to attend?"
"If he's a champion of Durmstrang, that would be awesome!"
Many of Klum's fans were already screaming with excitement, and some even started discussing his chances of winning.
Krum ignored the crowd and calmly took out the slip of paper with his name on it and put it into the Goblet of Fire. The blue flames licked the parchment and then engulfed it.
The students of Beauxbatons followed closely behind.
Their movements were more graceful than those of the students at Durmstrang, and the girls in light blue robes walked forward slowly, as if they were having a grand ball.
The most eye-catching among them is, of course, Fleur Delacour.
As she slowly walked towards the Goblet of Fire, many boys' eyes unconsciously followed her steps.
Ron on the opposite side was stunned, his mouth slightly open and his eyes dazed.
"She, she's going to vote!" Ron's voice was a little excited.
Fleur raised her chin, gave a confident and proud smile, threw her name into the Goblet of Fire, and turned to leave.
Her posture was extremely elegant, and the eyes of many boys present were still following her, not moving away for a long time.
Draco glanced coldly at the dazed Harry beside him and asked, "Is it too late for me to regret meeting you now?"
"What..." Harry opened his mouth wide, staring at Fleur's leaving back, still not coming to his senses.
After Durmstrang and Beauxbatons finished voting, the Hufflepuff students were in high spirits and they nominated the most popular champion candidate - Cedric Diggory.
"Cedric, you have to participate!" the Hufflepuff students shouted, "You must be the champion of Hogwarts!"
Cedric smiled shyly, seeming a little embarrassed, but finally, with everyone's encouragement, he walked firmly towards the Goblet of Fire and solemnly cast his name into it.
Many girls present were whispering.
"If Cedric gets chosen, I'll definitely draw him a banner!"
"He is so gentle and handsome, he is simply the most perfect boy in Hogwarts!"
Amanta looked at this scene and her heart sank slightly.
She knew that, if history had played out as it should, Cedric would have ended up a champion of Hogwarts—and then, dead at the hands of Voldemort.
"I have to stop this future," she thought to herself, clenching her fists.
At the same time, the Gryffindor students were not to be outdone and they also nominated their own warrior candidate, Angelina Johnson.
Amidst the cheers, Angelina waved her fist proudly, strode forward and threw her name into the Goblet of Fire, winning warm applause and loud cheers from Gryffindor.
