Chapter 350 Batman and the Joker
DCEU universe.
Northeastern Africa, north of Egypt, Kingdom of Kandak.
In the desert, a group of people walked through the whistling sand and dust.
Thick yellow sand accumulated on their bodies, and their tired footsteps left marks of varying depths in the sand.
After walking a few meters, the marks were buried by the wind and sand again.
There was no communication among the team of seven or eight people.
Everyone walked forward in silence, their eyes looking down at their feet, fatigue written all over their bodies from head to toe.
The leader was wearing a long black cape, the hem of which had been torn into rags.
He was wearing a pitch-black hood that covered half of his face.
On top of the hood were two sharp fake ears, revealing a chin covered with half-white stubble.
The leader pulled his right foot out of the sand again and suddenly stopped.
He heard a sound.
Suddenly he shouted, "Hide!"
This team is full of elites.
As soon as the leader stopped, the fatigue on their faces disappeared and their tired eyes became sharp again.
After hearing the hidden instructions.
Everyone fell to the ground at the same time.
One of them lifted the linen cloak that covered his entire body, revealing a body and arms made entirely of machinery.
His arm turned into a cannon muzzle with a crisp mechanical sound.
A large amount of gas suddenly came out of the muzzle, blowing up a large amount of yellow sand on the ground and covering everyone.
In just a few seconds.
A group of tired travelers suddenly disappeared into the depths of the desert.
In less than half a minute they disappeared.
A group of locust-like creatures suddenly flew over the sky.
Those creatures had human-like bodies, four wings resembling dragonfly wings on their backs, holding guns in both hands, and their scarlet eyes scanned the desert below.
They were not fast, and only after each creature was sure that it had not found any signs of life would it continue to fly to the other side of the desert.
After these creatures flew away.
Several heads slowly emerged from a circle of desert dust.
The leader stared at the enemies moving away.
The voice said in a strong voice: "Safe!"
The others then stood up from the sand, shaking their shoulders, and sand fell off.
The team member whose body was entirely mechanical looked up at the sky with hatred in his eyes.
"How far are we to the ruins?" he asked.
The leader replied in a low, hoarse voice: "Very soon!"
The robot shook its head and walked towards the leader, its joints creaking from the mechanical friction.
"We have to speed up, Batman, the world is on the brink of destruction, we don't have time!"
The leader of the team is Batman, and the robot is naturally Cyborg.
The two main characters of the Justice League are now in a very embarrassing state.
Cyborg's body, which had been transformed into a semi-mechanical life form by the Mother Box, was now flashing with electric sparks, and some of the parts had clear burn marks.
Batman's suit no longer has the elite equipment of the past, and only has a breastplate with decent toughness.
"Oh, no time? Why would you run so far if you don't have time?"
Suddenly, the only woman in the team retorted loudly in a somewhat collapsed manner.
"That man killed Arthur! He controlled Superman! He killed most of the lives in the world, and the rest are all controlled by him as slaves! There is no point in running away, how long will we run away!!"
Batman raised his voice slightly: "Mera, we are here to save everyone!"
But the next sentence was low again, "Barry is dead. We have no way out. We must find help."
"The Leon Stark that Barry mentioned hasn't shown up yet, so we can only look for the Black Adam that Diana mentioned!"
"This is the last message Diana left us before she died. Don't get emotional, Mera!"
Mera is the wife of Aquaman Arthur Curry.
But now Arthur is dead, killed by Darkseid.
Mera sets out on a path of revenge.
"Emotional?"
Mera looked straight at Batman: "Bruce Wayne, do you know what is sentimental? You haven't even loved anyone!"
Batman looked at her just as coldly, his eyes distinctly blue and white beneath the bat mask.
"Keep on going!"
Leave a message that cannot be refused.
Batman turned and continued walking deeper into the desert.
“Haha…hahaha, hehehahaha!!”
A deep and sharp laugh suddenly rang out in the team.
The laughter was very strange, like nails rubbing on a blackboard, or like a duck laughing with an iron rod stuck in its throat.
Everyone looked over except Batman.
It's a clown.
Her face was painted with pale makeup, and her entire mouth was scarlet. It was hard to tell whether it was due to lip erosion or the clown having applied too much paint.
He was wearing a very simple long-sleeved white shirt with a commando bulletproof vest over it, and he was laughing so hard that his waist was bent.
"The Little Mermaid."
He said with a smile, his voice switching between an extremely sharp falsetto and a deep real voice.
"You're wrong, haha."
"Bruce Wayne has loved many people, and loved them more deeply than you."
He straightened up slowly, but put his wrist against his forehead and continued to laugh while shaking his shoulders.
It was as if he was preparing to tell a good story that he had kept hidden for a lifetime and was finally going to tell it.
"Like, a father."
When the clown started to tell the story formally, he stopped laughing and spoke in a serious tone.
"For example, a mother; oh, and maybe an adopted son, whom everyone calls..."
Batman stopped moving forward at this time.
He turned around slowly, with only the clown in his eyes, and the clown was looking at him.
"You'd better think carefully about whether to continue." Batman's voice was as low as usual.
Even when his words were threatening, his emotions could not be heard.
But after being threatened, the clown became happier and his mouth widened.
"And an adopted son, everyone calls him Robin, right, Batman? You loved them so much that they died..."
Batman walked towards the Joker with a blank expression.
The clown looked at him and raised the corners of his mouth with his two index fingers.
"Why are you always so serious? It's the end of the world, so what? Isn't it all because of your choice that everything has become like this?"
"Maybe the little mermaid was right. The people you loved the most are dead, so the rest of you don't matter."
"You're numb, Batman. When Lois died in your arms, weren't her eyes so beautiful, like a fleeting shooting star?"
"Poor Louise, she had suffered the greatest torture in the world before she died."
The clown looked like he was about to cry, and his eyelids closed in pain.
It was as if he was really heartbroken about that girl named Louise.
Batman has stood in front of the Joker, looking down at him.
"You're right. I've been numb for a long time." Batman said, "I have buried my heart in the ground a long time ago, but if you dare to continue to cross my bottom line..."
"What will you do?" The Joker held his face with both hands, raising his eyebrows pitifully, "Are you going to kill me, the great Batman, are you going to kill me?"
He suddenly sneered again: "Don't be ridiculous, Bruce, you won't kill me."
"I am your friend, your savior, and your trump card to save the world."
"You couldn't bear to kill me, just like... you couldn't bear to sacrifice yourself to save Louise, and then the world was destroyed because of your reluctance."
"Poor Barry, he helped you restart the world again and again, and then let the world be destroyed because of your cowardice. Oh, my poor Flash who was not loved by anyone, he sacrificed in vain."
Batman watched the Joker put on a show.
He suddenly sneered: "It's a very funny joke. You know, it wasn't Louise who died in my arms, but Harley Quinn."
"She lay in my arms covered in blood, and before she died, she begged me with her last bit of strength to slow down when I killed you."
"Don't doubt it, I will kill you one day."
"Then, I will let you die bit by bit in torture and pain, just like Harley Quinn begged before she died."
Batman said, turning around and continuing to walk towards the desert.
And behind him.
The clown's body was shaking like a sieve, and he stood there like a sculpture.
Everyone looked at the two and continued to follow Batman.
Even Mera was silent now.
