Chapter 382 Some Kind of Connection
The huge body of the monster king blocked the exit of the crack, and its body was covered with dark purple scales.
Each piece was flashing with a strange light, with its bloody mouth wide open, revealing two rows of sharp fangs, and saliva dripping continuously, corroding deep pits on the ground.
Its huge eyes stared at Su Han and Bi Yao, and it let out a low roar from its throat, as if evaluating the two prey in front of it.
Su Han clenched the dagger in his hand, the blade glowing coldly in the dim light. He could feel Bi Yao's body trembling slightly behind him, and a desire to protect her surged in his heart.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here."
He whispered, his voice calm but his hand holding the dagger was sweating.
However, surprisingly, the King of Monsters did not attack immediately.
It just stood there, roaring, as if hesitating or waiting for something.
Su Han keenly noticed that the King of Monsters kept glancing at the mechanical device suspended in the center, and there seemed to be a hint of fear in his eyes.
Bi Yao calmed down and poked her head out from behind Su Han. The rusty sword in her arms had completely lost its rust.
The dark gold lines on the sword flickered with mysterious light, as if flowing with life.
"This sword... seems to have changed."
She said softly, with a hint of surprise in her voice.
Su Han tilted his head slightly and glanced at the sword in Bi Yao's hand. "Let's not worry about the sword for now. We have to find a way to figure out the secret of this mechanical device. Maybe it is the key to our leaving here."
He looked firmly at the central mechanical device. The clicking sound of countless gears seemed to be telling an ancient story.
The two approached the mechanical device cautiously, being vigilant with every step.
The runes on the twelve stone pillars flickered in the dim light, exuding a mysterious atmosphere. The runes had different shapes, some like flying birds, some like circling giant snakes, and some like twisted vines.
Biyao carefully observed the runes, trying to find some clues from them, "These runes are somewhat similar to the ones I saw on the barrier before, but not exactly the same."
She said with a frown. Su Han was vigilantly observing the movements of the monsters around him while listening to Bi Yao's words.
Suddenly, he discovered that the runes on one of the stone pillars seemed to be glowing slightly. Although the light was weak, it was particularly conspicuous in this dim space.
"Biyao, look at that stone pillar!"
He pointed at the stone pillar and said. Bi Yao looked in the direction of Su Han's finger, with a hint of surprise in her eyes.
"This glowing rune is very similar to a certain pattern on the sarcophagus!"
She walked quickly to the stone pillar and stretched out her hand to touch the rune, but was bounced back by an invisible force just as she was about to touch it, and her body staggered back a few steps.
Su Han quickly stepped forward to support Bi Yao, "Be careful, everything here is full of danger."
He stared at the stone pillar solemnly, thinking about how to crack the secret of the rune.
At this moment, the King of Monsters suddenly let out an earth-shaking roar, breaking the brief peace.
Its huge claws slammed down on the ground, causing the entire space to shake violently, with countless pieces of rubble falling from the top. Su Han and Bi Yao were shaken so much that they could not stand steadily and almost fell down.
"We can't wait any longer. We must find a way to crack the mechanical device as soon as possible!"
Su Han shouted loudly.
He looked around and suddenly found some tiny grooves on the ground. The arrangement of these grooves seemed to have some connection with the runes on the stone pillar. (End of this chapter)
