Chapter 420 Black Witch Blood Curse

Su Han stared at the winding dark red lines on Bi Yao's collarbone. The marks looked very much like runes on a stone wall, and were now rising and falling slightly with her slow breathing.

He suddenly remembered the same mark on the neck of a clone in the hallucination. His fingertips hovered beside her cheek, but finally withdrew them.

"The injuries on your body..."

Su Han's eyes swept across Bi Yao's bloodstained cuffs. The dried blood was a strange black in the dim light.

"what's going on?"

Biyao looked down at her hands and saw tiny pieces of stone embedded in the cracks between her nails.

She moved her fingers and pulled up the cuff of her sleeve to reveal a section of her forearm, which was covered with scratches but no fresh wounds.

"It was like this when I first woke up."

She suddenly chuckled, and the sound caused a tiny echo in the cave, "Do you think it might be the monster in the cave tickling me?"

Su Han didn't laugh.

He noticed that when Bi Yao spoke, her eyes would always unconsciously glance towards the depths of the pool.

The dark blue water seemed calm, but occasionally ripples appeared, as if something was gently stirring underwater.

Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly heard the sound of rocks rolling down overhead, and then the entire cave began to shake.

Biyao suddenly grabbed his wrist: "Quick! Go to the crack——"

Before he could finish his words, the stone wall above his head suddenly cracked open, and dark red liquid poured down like a waterfall.

Su Han instinctively protected Bi Yao under his body. The moment the liquid fell on his back, he felt a burning pain.

He groaned, feeling his skin as if being gnawed by countless ants. He looked down and found that the liquid that had fallen on the ground was emitting white smoke and corroding deep pits in the rock.

"It's the Black Witch Blood Curse!"

Biyao's voice was filled with fear, "These runes..."

She pointed at the dark red lines on the stone wall. The dried "bloodstains" actually began to flow, winding and converging into new patterns.

"They are summoning something!"

The tremors in the cave became more and more violent, and Su Han felt that the ground beneath his feet was sinking.

He dragged Bi Yao back to the narrow crack, but saw black mist gushing out from the depths of the crack, with countless distorted human faces vaguely emerging in the mist.

Those faces all had dark red lines similar to Biyao's, and a faint blue light flashed in their empty eye sockets. "Don't touch the mist!"

Bi Yao suddenly pushed Su Han aside, but her ankles were entangled by black mist.

She stumbled and fell to the ground, leaving five bloody marks on the rock with her fingertips.

Su Han rushed over and grabbed her hand, but felt the warmth in his palm disappearing - Bi Yao's skin became cold, as if her vitality was being devoured by the mist.

"Su Han..."

Bi Yao raised her head with difficulty, and the scene behind him was reflected in her eyes. Her pupils suddenly contracted.
"careful!"

Before Su Han could react, his back hit a hard object.

He turned around and was met with a pair of huge vertical pupils.

The monster was covered in scales, with dark red liquid flowing between the scales, the same as the runes on the rock wall. It opened its huge mouth covered with barbs, and a fishy wind blew in the face.

In a panic, Su Han touched the short blade at his waist.

This was the weapon he had used repeatedly in his hallucinations, but now holding it in his hand, he felt a strange heaviness.

The monster's sharp claws brushed past his shoulder, sending up a trail of sparks.

He swung his knife back, but the blade sent sparks flying as if it was hitting metal.

Biyao suddenly jumped up from the ground and threw a piece of burning rubble into the monster's eyes.

The monster roared in pain, and the vibrating sound waves hurt the eardrums of both people.

Taking advantage of its temporary blindness, Su Han dragged Bi Yao to the other side of the crack.

The moment they stumbled out of the crack, the entire cave collapsed.

Su Han looked back one last time and saw the monster's silhouette looming in the ruins.

The runes on the rock wall formed a huge magic circle, and the dark blue water in the pool was sucked into the circle, forming a beam of light that went straight to the top of the cave.

"What is that?" Su Han asked breathlessly.

He felt the taste of blood rising in his throat, and the place on his back that was burned by the black witch's blood curse was still hot.

Biyao did not answer. She stared at the beam of light at the top of the cave, her face paler than before. (End of this chapter)
