Chapter 617: The Fantasy World: Lin Xiao's Adventure in the Dark Forest
Lin Xiao stood alone at the entrance of the dark and gloomy forest. The moonlight seemed to be covered by a veil, barely illuminating the road a few steps ahead. The surrounding trees were tall and twisted, like the claws of a group of hideous monsters, ready to drag her into the endless darkness at any time.
"What the hell is this place? It feels like I'm in a horror movie set!" Lin Xiao frowned, looking around warily, with an obvious tremor in her voice. She unconsciously hugged her arms tightly, trying to give herself a little warmth and security.
A gust of cold wind blew by, and the leaves rustled, as if countless ghosts were whispering. Lin Xiao couldn't help but shudder, "Oh my god, why is this wind so evil? Is there really something unclean?"
Suddenly, a low roar came from the distance, and the sound made the ground tremble slightly, as if it was a roar coming from the depths of hell.
"What the hell? Could it be some super monster?" Lin Xiao's face turned pale in an instant, his eyes widened as big as copper bells, filled with fear.
Her legs felt like they were being held down by lead blocks. She wanted to run but couldn't take a step. "No, I can't be paralyzed by fear!" Lin Xiao bit her lip and encouraged herself.
She took a deep breath, forced herself to lift her shaking legs, and moved step by step towards the direction of the sound. With every step, her heartbeat was as fast as a drum.
"Oh my god, this is too scary!" Lin Xiao muttered to himself as he walked.
Suddenly, a huge black shadow passed over her head, bringing up a gust of wind.
"Ah!" Lin Xiao screamed, and sat down on the ground, backing away using his hands and feet. "What the hell is this? Don't eat me, don't eat me!"
When she calmed down, she found that the black shadow had disappeared.
Lin Xiao was breathing heavily, his forehead covered with cold sweat, "What the hell is this? It scared me to death!"
She struggled to get up from the ground and continued to move forward in fear.
As she walked, she came to a cave. A mysterious fog filled the entrance of the cave, making it difficult to see what was inside.
"There won't be anything more terrifying in this cave, right?" Lin Xiao hesitated and began to back down.
But strong curiosity still drove her to take a step forward.
As soon as I entered the cave, a pungent smell hit me in the face, like the smell of a rotting animal corpse.
"Oh my, what's that smell? It's really making me pass out!" Lin Xiao covered his nose with his hands, his brows furrowed so tightly that he could kill a fly.
The cave was pitch black, and Lin Xiao groped her way forward cautiously. The stones under her feet were uneven, and she almost fell flat on her face.
"Oh my god!" Lin Xiao exclaimed.
Just then, she heard a strange sound, like someone crying softly or muttering to themselves.
"Who? Who is there?" Lin Xiao's voice trembled even more violently. The voice echoed in the empty cave, but there was no response.
Lin Xiao's heartbeat quickened rapidly, as if it was about to jump out of his throat.
"No, I have to find an exit quickly!" Lin Xiao quickened her pace, but accidentally kicked a stone, causing her to grimace in pain.
"Oh, it hurts so much! This lousy place is really killing me!"
