Chapter 650: The Longevity Sutra of the Eastern Green Emperor
Chapter 650: The Eastern Green Emperor's Immortality Sutra (Two in One)
Every time he comes into contact with something new, Li Yuan feels very happy and enjoys exploring the unknown.
hum~
Li Yuan just had a thought, and white light rose from the gray iron plate, interweaving in front of him to form a light curtain with words flowing in it.
【Li Yuan】
【Daoist name: not yet granted】
[Good deeds: 1 major merit, 2000 minor merits ( given by Lingshu Tongzi)]
[Current rank: Dongxuan Mountain Inner Disciple Rank]
[Partial communication with Daluo Atlas: Sutra Library]
[Cultivated skills: Kunpeng True Form Diagram (disciple's own skills, not exchangeable for good deeds), Dongji Qingdi Changsheng Sutra (obtained upon entering Dongxuan Mountain, not exchangeable for good deeds)]
"Xian Tong is also a very particular person. He should walk around more when he has time... Huh?"
Li Yuan looked at them one by one, and suddenly his heart moved: "Dongji... is that the map I got when I visited Dongxuan Mountain? It's also recorded in the book?"
Before entering Dongxuan Mountain, he used the 'Five Senses Set' to bless himself and roamed in the sea of divine patterns for a cup of tea, and finally chose the picture of the giant tree.
"The Eastern Green Emperor's Immortality Sutra?"
Li Yuan narrowed his eyes slightly, and the picture he obtained from his previous journey to the Sea of Divine Patterns emerged from his mind.
hum~
A gentle tremor echoes in my heart.
In a trance, Li Yuan felt like he had become a seed, which was carried by some bird and dropped into the mud. It took an unknown amount of time for it to break through the seed shell and sprout the first tender root.
'I' greedily stretched out my roots, constantly exploring deep into the earth, absorbing all the nutrients I needed. After an unknown amount of time, 'I' broke through the soil and became a seedling.
……
Li Yuan felt it quietly.
It was as if I had really become a seed, and had gone through endless years, from a small sapling in a valley to a huge tree that blocked out the sun.
Starting with that life star, it eventually stretched its branches and leaves out of the strong wind cloud layer, into the endless sea of stars, and eventually became a terrifying giant tree that even he himself could hardly describe!
Rooted in the earth and exploring the sea of stars, thousands of branches stretch out, covering the galaxy, and countless spiritual birds build nests and reproduce among the branches.
"call!"
After a long time, Li Yuan slowly came back to his senses and took a while to digest the situation before he got rid of the illusion that he was a tree.
This Dongji Qingdi Longevity Sutra is indeed more terrifying than any martial arts he had learned before. He only felt it a little, and before he could immerse himself in it, he had a terrifying illusion that he wanted to take root in the earth.
"We have to go to the Sutra Library first. This level of skills cannot be learned easily..."
Li Yuan exhaled lightly and pinched his fingers to give the disciple's order.
Woo~
The next moment, Li Yuan was in a trance, and when he came back to his senses, he found himself covered by a deep and vast starry sky. He looked around, and everywhere he could see were shining stars.
“Is this the Sutra Library?”
When Li Yuan had the thought in his mind, he heard a loud rumbling sound coming from the depths of the starry sea. It seemed that there were faint rays of terrifying gazes passing through him. Although they disappeared in an instant, it was definitely not an illusion.
[New disciple Li Yuan...]
[You can enter the Sutra Repository...]
[Disciples who enter the room can do good deeds and browse the categories of "secrets, methods, skills, classics, and scriptures" in the Sutra Library...]
[New disciples can enjoy a 99% discount on the first selection of martial arts classics, limited to one copy]
[Any skills and scriptures learned in the Sutra Library are not allowed to be leaked! ]
……
After a rumbling sound, the above text unfolded in front of Li Yuan like a waterfall. They were all precautions written in the Origin Divine Scripture.
"Is it the rules of the Sutra Library?"
Li Yuan looked at it very carefully, and after he memorized each one of them, he began to travel around the Sutra Library.
Yes, travel.
This starry sky is the Sutra Repository. Every star and every point of starlight is an enormous library. The number of martial arts books and manuals contained in it is simply beyond imagination.
"If I were to choose it myself, it might take decades before I could find what I want..."
Li Yuan wandered around for a while, and after waking up from the shock, he decisively gave up his choice. With a thought, he called out according to the rules he had just seen:
"I, the disciple Li Yuan, ask the 'Bookworm' to appear and choose a method for me. I am willing to reward you with a 'small merit'!"
hum~
Before Li Yuan finished speaking, streaks of light appeared in the starry sky. Soon, a streak of light stood out and landed in front of him:
"Newbie, next time you need to clearly state the amount of the reward, otherwise no bookworm will be willing to pay attention to you!"
The person who spoke was a little old man.
He was about a foot tall, hunched over, with white hair and beard, and a serious face.
"Thank you for your guidance, senior."
Li Yuan bowed his hands in thanks, while looking at him curiously out of the corner of his eye.
The bookworm is the only guide in the Sutra Library. It is said to be a very special spirit puppet with a long lifespan and a love of reading, so it will never leave the Sutra Library in its entire life.
Disciples who enter the Sutra Library can use their good deeds to motivate themselves to choose the necessary books and techniques for themselves.
“How many good deeds have you done?”
The little old man is very direct.
"The normal price will do."
Li Yuan glanced at the old man and said, "When I was a disciple, I asked Lingshu Xiantong. Some bookworms are quite bad. Once they meet a new disciple, they will ask for an exorbitant price..."
"Of course I'm not that kind of person!"
Hearing the word "Lingshu", the old man narrowed his eyes and then forced a smile:
"I only need a small skill. I wonder what kind of skills and books the new disciple needs? Do I need to use the only discount opportunity?"
"Save the discount opportunity for now."
Li Yuan waved his hand:
"Give me a list first."
There are some benefits to chatting with Lingshu Boy after all. Although Li Yuan is a newcomer, he also understands some things.
For example, the Sutra Repository, and this bookworm.
Bookworms feed on reading, but bookworms can read shallow books, but they also need good deeds to read deep books.
Therefore, when encountering disciples who do not know anything about the business, these bookworms will often extort a large sum of money from them, especially from disciples who become disciples. Once they enter the sect, they can receive a hundred years of salary, which is a big fat sheep in the eyes of bookworms.
"You are a beast covered in fur and horns, and you are a plague-stricken creature!"
The old man cursed Lingshu in his heart, but he had to list the items:
"The martial arts manuals in the Sutra Library are as vast as the sea of smoke. This list only contains the ones I have read over the years. I have only seen the names of many of them. You can choose for yourself!"
The little old man waved his hands in anger. He hated people who knew what he was doing the most.
If it is not knowledgeable, it may earn dozens or even hundreds of merits for each good deed it does for a book, but now, there is only one.
Wow~
The list was stretched up like a curtain, at least two hundred feet high. The words on it were as dense as cow hairs. At a glance, the titles of various classics might have exceeded hundreds of millions!
“This is just a bookworm’s list…”
Li Yuan was secretly shocked, and immediately looked at the list carefully, his heartbeat quickened and his eyes lit up.
Daluotian divides all kinds of skills in the world into multiple levels, from low to high, namely, Jue, Fa, Gong, Canon, Sutra, and Dao. Disciples can borrow any skills below the 'Dao level'.
As long as you have enough good deeds, you can borrow as much as you want and learn as much as you want.
but……
“Too few good deeds!”
Li Yuan looked through the list.
The price of the martial arts in the library cannot be said to be expensive. The price of a martial arts book of the "Jue" grade is at least one small martial art, and the most expensive is no more than twelve small martial arts.
On it, Li Yuan saw a familiar set of skills.
[Red Blood Demon Bull Art: Art grade, magic skill type, to get started you only need to correspond to one divine pattern... to read it you need one small skill]
One spell only requires one small skill, so the price is very cheap. After all, a disciple can obtain twelve small skills a year, and a skill like the Magic Bull Skill can be exchanged for ten or so copies.
But the higher you go, the more expensive it becomes. For a Dharma-grade technique, the minimum required is ten small skills, and the most expensive one is as high as one hundred, which is not so bad for a disciple.
But the gong and dian level techniques are already very expensive.
Any Gong-grade martial arts technique would cost hundreds of small Gongs. Li Yuan even saw a martial arts technique called "Six Desires Dividing Demons" that cost as much as three thousand six hundred small Gongs.
However, the classic-level skills already require great merits, at least one, and at most dozens or even hundreds of great merits.
The starting point of the magical skill at the Jing level is one hundred great merits.
"too expensive!"
Li Yuan's eyelids twitched wildly as he watched. To buy a copy of this scripture-level magical skill, without any other good deeds, it would take ten thousand years just relying on the good deeds bestowed by the sect!
But this is not possible.
Not to mention whether the disciple can live for ten thousand years. Even if he can, it is impossible without great effort. Cultivation requires more than just techniques.
"The Eastern Extreme Longevity Sutra actually requires 670 great merits?!"
Li Yuan was shocked. Only then did he realize how great his fortune was when he observed Dongxuan Mountain when he first entered the sect.
"Have you made your choice?"
Li Yuan was amazed at what he saw, but the old bookworm was full of impatience. He thought that a small business was a waste of his time and it was better to read a few pages of a book!
Li Yuan didn't care about his bad attitude. After a moment's thought, he said:
"Senior, please bring me the 'Three Books for Nominal Disciples', 'Three Books for Auditing Disciples', 'Three Books for In-house Disciples', and the 'Dongxuan Mountain Rules'."
"?!"
The old man was startled and looked him up and down, as if he had seen a fellow:
"You kid, you don't want a copy even if it's costing you money?"
"I'm just getting started, so I have to be frugal with my good deeds."
Li Yuan didn't feel embarrassed at all. This was just a small amount of good deeds he had, so of course he couldn't waste it. At least he had to find a way to earn good deeds.
"Not bad, not bad."
The impatience on the old man's face disappeared, and he stroked his white beard and asked, "There are many books that can be borrowed at will in the library. An introductory disciple can borrow hundreds of books at a time!"
Li Yuan was surprised at the change in the old man's attitude and smiled and bowed:
"Then I'll have to trouble you to collect a hundred copies."
"Ah."
The old man nodded slightly, turned into light and left. After a while, he returned, and the books behind him floated along with him and landed in front of Li Yuan.
"Thank you, senior."
Li Yuan took a quick look and found that there were no books among those books except the ones he had chosen.
There are also books like "Rules of Good Deeds", "Detailed Explanation of Magical Spells", "Two or Three Things to Choose from in Kung Fu", "Five Realms before God", etc. There is not a single miscellaneous book.
"This is your reward."
Li Yuan had an idea and divided the good deeds into ten.
The old man was startled at first, then he smiled and disappeared into the sea of stars:
"My boy, my name is Shu Haoshou. Next time you come, just call me by my name!"
……
……
After coming out of Li Yuan's small cave, Lingshu Tongzi did not go anywhere else. He climbed up the stairs and slowly returned to the Bamboo Forest Residence. "I forgot to ask that kid what kind of skills he realized when he visited Dongxuan Mountain. Forget it, I'll take a look myself."
Lingshu suddenly remembered that he had forgotten something, but he changed his mind and communicated with the Daluo Atlas. After concentrating for a while, he saw Li Yuan's information:
"Huh? It's actually this technique? No wonder he spent a whole cup of tea reading it. It's a pity that he still suffers from his low level. If he had cultivated superior magic power before, he might not be worse than Yu Wangxian!"
When mentioning 'Yu Wangxian', Lingshu Tongzi couldn't help but grit his teeth and curse his bad luck, why did he think of that bastard.
"Pooh!"
Lingshu spat and hurried back to the bamboo forest to report.
Naturally, he was very fast. Even though he climbed Dongxuan Mountain with one step after another, he returned to Bamboo Forest Residence in a short while. In front of the bamboo house, he bowed and waited for the master to summon him.
Suddenly I heard the sound of the "Bitter Sea Bell" and looked up in surprise:
"Grandpa Kuhai, what are you doing?"
"Dang~"
The wind chimes in front of the bamboo house swayed, and a deep and deep voice sounded:
"Little boy, there are guests coming. Take me to greet them!"
"Are you having a guest?"
Lingshu was startled for a moment, then he accepted the order, bowed three times, carefully took off the Kuhai Bell, then hurried down the mountain and rode the cloud straight out of the mountain.
hum~
As soon as he reached the foot of the mountain, he heard a long, bell-like sound. Following the sound, he saw a golden light shining in the darkness.
Eighteen monks with extremely strong physiques came out of the darkness, carrying a Buddhist sedan chair.
The Buddha's chariot was extremely luxurious, with precious light shining like a waterfall that dazzled the eyes. There were eight precious towers in front and back, engraved with treasure bottles, precious canopies, twin fish, lotus flowers, right-handed conchs, auspicious knots, victory towers, Dharma wheels, and other magic weapons.
"Eighteen Vajra Kings, this is the Taihuang Eight Treasures Chariot!"
The moment he saw the Buddha's chariot, Lingshu's heart skipped a beat.
This is a very famous chariot in Taihuangtian. According to legend, it is one of the six major temples in Taihuangtian. It is the mount of the 'Master of Xuanyuan Temple' and 'Xuanyuan Bodhisattva'. It has already achieved great success in Taoism and has endless mysterious power.
"Xuanyuan Bodhisattva!"
Lingshu came out of the mountain. He looked into the distance, but could only vaguely see a figure sitting cross-legged in the curtain of the Buddha's chariot. The figure's face could not be seen clearly, and it looked like a Buddha statue in the temple.
Woohoo~
The Buddha's chariot slowly approached, and the sounds of thousands of people chanting Buddha's name and scriptures emerged and echoed from the void.
In the light of Buddha and the sound of Buddhist scriptures, Lingshu seemed to see a Buddhist world where countless devout men and women sat cross-legged, chanting scriptures and praising the Bodhisattva.
"Meet the Bodhisattva!"
Lingshu bowed his head, and the Kuhai Bell he was holding also made a sound.
"Oh? It's you, Kuhai. Well, there's also a little red-eyed monkey!"
The Buddha's chariot stopped in front of Dongxuan Mountain. A voice came from the chariot. Lingshu could feel an extremely terrifying gaze falling on him. If he hadn't been holding the Bitter Sea Bell in his hand, he would not have been able to stand.
"The Taoist has not yet completed his merits, so he asked us to come and welcome the Bodhisattva."
The bitter sea bell trembled slightly, and a deep voice rang out: "Please move the sedan chair and go into the mountains to drink tea."
"Brother Dao, be diligent."
A voice of praise came from the Buddha's chariot: "Since this is the case, I will not enter the mountain. Please inform Brother Zhi on my behalf."
"After 333 years, the Buddha will give a lecture in the Brahma Heaven. Don't forget to go."
……
……
"call!"
At the top of the mountain, Li Yuan opened his eyes.
There was no book in front of him, but as long as he held the disciple order and concentrated his mind for a moment, he could sense the one hundred books he had borrowed.
You can flip through any book with just your mind, and every word will be clear.
“No wonder there are so few disciples of Dongxuan Mountain at the mountain gate. With this disciple order in hand, no matter in the myriad realms of the heavens or in other dimensions, you can communicate with the Daluo Atlas at any time…”
Li Yuan felt somewhat regretful. He had hoped to sense the Daluo Atlas, but after walking around the library, he did not sense the aura of the treasure.
Even if the library is in the Daluo Atlas.
"Well, let's first take a look at the benefits of being a disciple of Dongxuan Mountain."
Li Yuan's mind moved slightly, and he held the disciple's order and began to look through the one hundred books he had borrowed.
First of all, there are 320 rules of Dongxuan Mountain, covering all aspects, but Li Yuan does not think it is too many. More rules mean there are laws, and only with laws can there be order.
"The skills are not allowed to be passed on to outsiders. Disciples are not allowed to fight without reason, slaughter living beings, or make peace with evil gods without permission... There are many rules, but they are still not detailed."
Li Yuan memorized each of the sect's rules in his mind, while also analyzing them.
In his opinion, the rules of this sect are a bit loose. Fighting without reason is not allowed, which does not completely prohibit fighting. And one cannot make peace with the evil god without authorization, so what does "without authorization" mean?
"There are many loopholes in the sect rules that can be exploited... That's right. The current generation of disciples of Dongxuan Mountain, including those who are attending as auditors, is less than 200..."
After writing down the sect rules, Li Yuan began to read the "Three Books for Nominal Disciples", "Three Books for Auditing Disciples" and "Three Books for Intern Disciples".
These nine books are more like welfare.
As long as one is a disciple of the corresponding rank, he or she can receive it, no good deeds are required.
Li Yuan looked through the nine books and found that there were many similarities among them, mainly analysis of spiritual practice and some things that need to be paid attention to during practice.
Among them, the three elements of magic power were mentioned, but compared to what he knew, it was much more detailed.
"Mana power is the foundation of a cultivator. Only mana can transform divine patterns into divine prohibitions, and only mana can nourish and refine magic weapons..."
"Mana can be divided into upper and lower levels. Those who practice the 'jue' and 'fa' techniques can obtain lower-level mana, those who practice the 'gong' techniques can obtain middle-level mana, and only those who practice the 'dian' and 'jing' techniques can obtain upper-level mana..."
"The difference between high and low levels of mana lies in the inherent divine prohibitions..."
"If it can contain two Earthly Evils and one Heavenly Evil, it is low-grade magic power. If it can contain twelve Earthly Evils and six Heavenly Evils, it is medium-grade magic power. If it can contain thirty-six Earthly Evils and eighteen Heavenly Evils, it is extremely high-grade magic power!"
"My fellow disciples, please do not blindly pursue the grade of mana. Low-grade mana can also be used to forge a divine furnace, condense a golden elixir, and mold a magic ring..."
……
Regarding magic power, the descriptions in the three books for nominal disciples and auditor disciples are basically the same, but there are slight differences regarding magic power.
"The level of mana is related to the level of the divine furnace, which is related to the level of the golden elixir. Low-level mana is difficult to cultivate a mid- to high-level golden elixir..."
"But if you don't have a superior talent, don't pursue the highest level of magic power."
When Li Yuan saw this, he couldn't help but open the three introductory books about magic power, only to find something different.
“Only the best-grade magic power can refine the best-grade golden elixir. Only the Dharma Heaven created by the best-grade golden elixir can illuminate all realms…”
Li Yuan looked thoughtful, and as he continued reading, he suddenly understood.
Dongxuan Mountain does not discriminate, but if those with insufficient talents pursue the level of magical power too much, it is very likely to slow down their own practice.
The grade of mana is important, but the realm is equally important.
This point is mentioned in detail in the book about becoming a disciple.
The practice of the state of unity begins with the generation of magical powers and ends with the generation of eighty-one magical powers.
"Take the example of a cultivator with a second-level talent who cultivates low-grade mana. If he does not have good fortune or elixirs to help him, he can practice nine times a day. He can gain a strand of mana in a month, a strand in a year, and a strand in ten years. If he practices diligently every day, he may be able to achieve unity and perfection in eight hundred and ten years..."
"A cultivator in the Unity Realm can live for a thousand years."
"It is still this person, without luck and elixir, who has to practice nine times a day. If he cultivates middle-grade magic power, he will have no hope of achieving unity even if his life span is exhausted..."
"If the middle-grade mana is this bad, what about the upper-grade mana?"
……
A large amount of space is devoted to this topic in the three introductory books.
Li Yuan read it very seriously. It was obviously written by a powerful person with high cultivation level. From a high vantage point, the analysis of magic power was very in-depth.
"Old Han is a second-level talent... According to this senior's analysis, he should cultivate low-grade magic power. Even without the help of elixirs, he still has a chance to be promoted to the Divine Palace. But if he cultivates middle-grade magic power, even with elixirs, he may not be able to be promoted to the Divine Palace..."
Li Yuan studied every word carefully, and the more he read, the more he admired it.
The person who wrote the three books in the room must have been at a very high level. He even clearly listed what kind of talents he had, what kind of magic power he had to cultivate, and how many years it would take to achieve perfection.
"Most of the secret manuals I saw when I was learning martial arts were extremely mysterious. The reason for this is that many martial artists find it difficult to teach others even if they have reached a very high level themselves. This one is not the case..."
Li Yuan admired in his heart:
"He knows both the facts and the reasons behind them. He is obviously a master who has mastered the cultivation method thoroughly. His familiarity with the five realms before entering the Dao is no less than my understanding of them before I entered the Dao!"
He continued to look down.
It is clearly listed in the book for beginners.
"Those who do not have a third-level talent should not cultivate mid-level magic power. Those who have a third-level talent but do not have a rich family background are not recommended to cultivate middle-level magic power either..."
"Those with the fifth-level talent can cultivate high-grade magic power, but they need to swallow elixirs and eat spiritual rice every day, and practice diligently every day..."
……
At the end, Li Yuan saw words that made him satisfied.
"The gift of gods and demons, there is no hindrance in practicing all kinds of Dharma."
"A person with divine and demonic gifts, cultivating low-grade magic power, without elixir and good fortune, can cultivate eighty-one magic powers in eight years..."
"...cultivating middle-grade mana, even without the aid of pills, only takes eighteen years to complete...cultivating upper-grade mana, also only takes thirty years..."
The person who wrote this book is probably a believer in talent. When Li Yuan reads later, he can feel his great respect for high-level talents.
In fact, after reading the whole article, it was hard for him to disagree.
"If Old Han hadn't taken the Three Lights Divine Water, and he and I were cultivating lower-grade magic power, he would have needed 810 years to cultivate, but I only needed eight years to achieve perfection!"
After a brief reflection, Master Li suddenly felt in a good mood.
If he had a second-level talent, he would probably go crazy after reading this book, but he had a god-devil-level talent, so reading this book made him more than just happy.
I just felt that all the hard work of changing my form and the pain of being burned by the divine fire were worth it!
"It takes thirty years to cultivate high-grade mana. If there is a sufficient supply of elixirs, the time can be reduced by two-thirds. The god-demon-level talent is truly terrifying!"
Even without the blessing of the Weapon Control Talisman, Li Yuan is now a genuine god-demon-level talent. In any realm, he is a stunning genius!
"If I have the blessing of the Weapon Control Talisman, it may not take me ten years to cultivate the highest level of magic power!"
With this thought, Li Yuan almost lost the mood to read and wished he could go into seclusion to cultivate his magic power.
But he suppressed the throbbing in his heart and continued to read other books.
Among the nine books for beginners, in addition to the analysis of magic power and various matters of cultivation, there are also three books of magic.
They are [Art of Moving Clouds and Raining] for nominal disciples, [Art of White Bone Military Strategy] for auditor disciples, and [Art of Gathering and Dispersing Invisible Treasure Light] for inner disciples.
"Farming, training Taoist soldiers, and refining magic weapons... this should be the way to earn good deeds, right?"
Li Yuan was very interested in the last one, but he decided to finish reading all the 100 books before doing anything else.
When it comes to spiritual practice, Master Li Dao has always been cautious.
With the help of the 'Five Senses Set', Li Yuan read very quickly, even focusing on more than one thing at a time. After a short while, he had finished most of the book and felt that he had gained a lot.
"Huh? This one..."
Li Yuan's spirit was slightly shaken, and his scattered mind suddenly gathered together:
"The true path of the disciples of Dongxuan."
(End of this chapter)
