Chapter 976: Isolation of spiritual power test.
The attraction of the swirling currents caused the ghost ship to shake violently, and the deck groaned under the heavy weight.
"Ah!" Ji Lier suddenly screamed and lost her balance due to the violent shaking of the boat.
Su Yi, who was quick-eyed and quick-handed, grabbed her wrist and quickly wrapped his other hand around her waist, holding her steadily.
"Be careful." His voice remained calm, but his slightly quickened breathing revealed his nervousness.
Ji Lier looked up at Su Yi's face which was so close to her. Her cheeks instantly turned red, like the sunset in the sky.
"Thank you, thank you..." Ji Lier stuttered as she thanked him, avoiding Su Yi's gaze.
Su Yi nodded slightly, then let go of his hand as usual, but the tips of his ears were flushed.
"Hold on to the side of the boat!" Chu Moxiao yelled, holding on to the rope on the side of the boat with his other hand.
Jun Yijue had already leapt in front of the control console, and tremendous spiritual power surged out of his body and poured into the crystal ball.
The spirit ship emitted a dazzling light, and the runes on the hull lit up one by one, trying to break free from the suction of the vortex.
However, the power of the whirlpool was far beyond imagination, and the spirit ship was like being stuck in a quagmire, making it extremely difficult to move.
"Everyone, inject spiritual power quickly!" Su Chenyin shouted, and she was the first to pour spiritual power into the crystal ball.
Others followed suit.
They poured their spiritual power into the crystal ball to help Jun Yijue control the spirit ship.
Su Chenyin took the opportunity to take out a stack of talismans and threw them into the air. The talismans emitted golden light to reinforce the hull.
With everyone's concerted efforts, the spirit ship finally moved away from the center of the vortex little by little.
The hull made a teeth-grinding creaking sound, as if it would fall apart in the next second.
Fine beads of sweat oozed out of Jun Yijue's forehead.
He gritted his teeth and squeezed out the last bit of his spiritual power: "Hold on a little longer!"
"Boom!" With a loud noise, the spirit ship finally broke free from the edge of the whirlpool and was pushed out by a current in the opposite direction.
Due to inertia, everyone fell to the deck, gasping for breath.
Su Chenyin's hairpin had fallen off at some point, and her long black hair was scattered over her shoulders, with a few strands of hair wet by the sea water and sticking to her cheeks.
She looked up at Jun Yijue and found that he was bending down to pick up his hairpin, and then came to her side.
Jun Yijue knelt on one knee in front of her, moving slowly as if he was afraid of disturbing something.
"Your hair is loose," he whispered, his voice much softer than usual.
Su Chenyin smiled, her eyes reflecting the afterglow of the setting sun, like melted gold.
"It's true..." She subconsciously raised her hand and touched her messy hair, with the corners of her lips slightly raised.
Jun Yijue didn't say much, but just walked behind her and gently combed her long hair with his slender fingers.
His movements were surprisingly skillful, as if he had done them countless times before.
The sea breeze blew by, bringing with it his unique cold pine scent mixed with a faint smell of blood - that was the trace left by the battle.
Everyone on the deck in unison slowed down their movements and even their breathing became cautious.
Mu Xin blinked, a knowing smile on his face.
Lu Ziche raised his eyebrows and nudged Lu Yanchen beside him with his elbow, in return receiving a warning look from the latter.
Ji Lier held her face with both hands, her eyes sparkling, and she looked like she had seen something incredible.
Su Chenyin could feel Jun Yijue's fingers running through her hair.
Occasionally his fingertips brushed the back of her neck, causing a slight shiver.
His movements were gentle, yet firm and irresistible, as if he was treating some precious treasure.
"Okay." Jun Yijue said in a low voice after a moment.
His fingers finally stroked the hairpin, making sure it was firmly fixed in Su Chenyin's bun.
"Thank you, Ajue." Su Chenyin raised her hand and touched her hair that had been tied up again, then turned and smiled at Jun Yijue.
The afterglow of the setting sun fell on her profile, outlining her delicate features, and the light in her eyes was brighter than the stars.
Jun Yijue's Adam's apple rolled slightly, and an elusive emotion flashed in his eyes.
He stood up quickly, turned and walked towards the control console. His back was as straight as a pine tree, but the barely noticeable red on the tip of his ear gave away his mood.
"Ahem." Lu Yanchen cleared his throat at the right time, breaking the delicate atmosphere. "We have consumed too much spiritual energy. The most urgent thing is to take a rest and replenish our spiritual energy."
Everyone nodded in agreement and took action.
Su Yi and Lu Ziche immediately began to inspect the hull. Their fingers brushed over every inch of the wood, and their spiritual power penetrated in to explore the internal structure.
Mu Xin pulled Ji Lier towards the small kitchen in the cabin, preparing to use the elixirs and ingredients they brought to make food to restore their strength.
Jun Yijue was already standing in front of the control console, his palm covering the crystal ball, injecting spiritual power to maintain the course.
After these two crises, everyone was a little exhausted.
After resting for a while and making sure there was no danger, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and returned to the cabin.
After dinner, Su Chenyin looked at the tired people and said, "Everyone has worked hard. You have experienced two fierce battles in a row. Take a good rest."
When everyone heard Su Chenyin's words, they nodded in agreement.
They dragged their heavy feet back to their rooms and fell asleep.
After a while, the entire spirit ship fell silent.
After these two battles, everyone had a deeper understanding of the dangers of the Endless Sea.
For the next ten days or so, the spirit ship slowly moved forward on the rough sea.
During this period, they were attacked by sea monsters several times.
However, with the experience from the previous two times, everyone was able to deal with it with ease.
They were able to successfully repel the sea monsters and escape danger every time.
It was a sunny morning with a sea breeze blowing.
Su Chenyin was meditating in the cabin when he suddenly felt an inexplicable palpitation.
She walked quickly onto the deck and saw a thick gray-white fog rising from the sea ahead.
The fog was spreading, devouring everything within sight like a giant beast.
Su Chenyin's heart tightened, and an ominous premonition came to his mind.
There may be huge dangers hidden in this fog, which may even be more terrifying than the sea monsters encountered before.
She did not dare to delay for even a second, and quickly turned around and walked quickly to the cabin to gather everyone.
When everyone heard Su Chenyin's call, they ran out of the room and gathered on the deck.
When they saw the diffuse fog ahead, their expressions became solemn.
Mu Xin twisted his sleeves nervously: "This fog came strangely, I always feel like there is something hidden in it."
Su Chenyin warned: "Everyone, please be careful! There may be unknown dangers hidden in this fog."
Jun Yijue stared at the fog, a hint of deep thought flashing in his eyes.
He calmly analyzed the situation in front of him: "This fog is indeed a bit strange. We must not rush into it rashly. I will try it out first to see if I can find out the situation."
As he spoke, he raised his right hand, and a blue bird formed by spiritual power took shape in his palm.
The spiritual bird spread its wings and flew high, rushing straight into the fog.
However, just when the blue bird entered the fog for only a few feet, Jun Yijue's face suddenly changed.
"The connection between Bluebird and me has been cut off." He frowned, "There seems to be some kind of power in this fog that can block spiritual power tests."
