Chapter 1016 Father Pucci
Miranda is an old acquaintance of the Paradise Church and a believer who often comes to the church to pray. When ordinary believers see her world-weary face, most of them will not say too much gossip.
They nodded to each other as they passed by. Even if they were just acquaintances, Miranda was full of gratitude. She was having a miserable time outside and was not taken seriously at all.
People outside the church do not treat Miranda as a woman and have no physical interest in her. She is ordered around by different bosses, selling her cheap labor and struggling to make ends meet.
For the first time, Miranda felt warmth from an outsider other than her deceased relatives, even though she had no religious beliefs.
In order to fit into this warm big family, Miranda could pretend to be a believer, which is why she never doubted the church.
Subconsciously believing that Heaven Church would not harm her, Miranda's time kept repeating itself. She tried many times to leave the Kingdom of Lulucia, wasting so much time that she didn't even go to church once.
"Zoro, these are all good people, don't hurt them"
Miranda still had memories of last night, when Zoro had fought an unknown female swordsman in black, which resulted in her home being split in two.
Fortunately, time reversal will reset things back to their original state, otherwise Miranda would have to sleep on the streets at night and live in a shabby house with homeless people.
Both Zoro and Shisui are atheists. The former is more extreme and only believes in the sword in his hand. He is too straightforward and has poor sense of direction, and can only use the sword in his hand to reason.
Although the latter is very powerful, due to the character flaws caused by his upbringing, he always likes to pin his hopes on outsiders. Moreover, he is not very lucky, and every time things go out of control in a direction that Shisui did not expect.
For example, this time, Shisui obviously underestimated the situation in the Kingdom of Lulucia, and unexpected forces got involved.
Shisui always felt a sense of disharmony in this seemingly peaceful church. Fortunately, his real body did not enter the church, but his summoned beast followed him in.
Once Zoro and Miranda are trapped in the church and unable to come out, Shisui will be fine outside and can rescue them from the dark and find out the mastermind behind the scenes.
"I'm not that violent, as long as these believers don't mess with me"
Zoro's spiritual world is very rich, that is to keep getting stronger and one day defeat the number one swordsman Hawkeye. For this long-term goal, he has been working hard to become stronger!
If the Church of Heaven could teach some exquisite swordsmanship, or some kendo tips, perhaps Zoro would consider becoming a believer of the church at his feet.
Normally, relief meals are received outdoors. Most of the time in the church is used for prayers for believers and religious activities on specific days. Internal management is relatively loose.
Zoro behind Miranda does not have a kind face. He has a rebellious and evil face. He has four sharp weapons on his waist and he can't hide the smell of a pirate.
After entering the church, Zoro was targeted by the priests. Miranda's reserved look beside him made it difficult for the priests not to suspect something bad.
Miranda was a miserable woman. When she couldn't find a job and had no food to eat, she would come to the church early to receive relief meals.
Unlike other poor people, after enjoying the Holy Communion, Miranda would take the initiative to stay and help the priests clean up, pick up garbage or mop the floor, and do some work within her ability.
Some priests had a good impression of Miranda, thinking that although a woman was ugly, she could still eat even if she had no money, and her noble qualities could not be concealed. She deserved to go to heaven and enjoy the blessings of this life.
After Zoro entered the church, he looked left and right with a hint of malice in his eyes, giving outsiders the impression that he was a pirate who came in to steal some treasure and kill people.
In order to achieve his goal, he kidnapped an ignorant and ugly woman. Miranda must have been coerced by the pirates. Green-haired pirates carrying weapons are not good people.
Pirates have never had a good reputation, and they always engage in burning, killing and looting. The Straw Hat Pirates are an outlier in the pirate era. They are self-sufficient and do not rely on external robbery, and can sail smoothly on the Grand Line. It can only be said that Luffy is a little too lucky.
Not long after going to sea, he picked up a vice-captain and a navigator, and the sniper even brought his own boat on board. Luffy's first half of his life was too smooth, and he had never experienced any major disasters.
"May heaven forgive the lost lambs." At the end of the bright church corridor, a figure slowly walked out. It was the priest Miranda was most familiar with.
His striking white hair and dark skin that were exposed seemed to have been stained with unique marks by time and some unspeakable force.
The pupils of those eyes took on a strange shape close to stars. When his gaze swept over, it seemed as if he could penetrate the soul and peek into the secrets deep in the heart.
He was wearing a dark robe with delicate cross patterns embroidered on it. As he walked, the robe swayed gently, making a slight friction sound, as if ancient scriptures were being recited in a low voice.
Character Notes: Father Enrique Pucci of the Heavenly Church, the user of the superhuman Time-Time Fruit (Made in Heaven)
"Father Pucci!" Miranda waved to the priest in the distance. Without the kind-hearted priest's rescue, the woman would have died of starvation or freezing at the door of the church.
Father Pucci walked with steady and firm steps, each step was very rhythmic, as if he was measuring the distance between the sacredness of the church and the mundane world.
The air around him seemed to become heavy because of his presence. The candlelight on the wall flickered behind his figure, casting his outline on the ground, forming a distorted cross.
Father Pucci nodded to Miranda and noticed that the person behind her had four knives on his waist, one of which had a mark that outsiders could not see.
"Miranda, please introduce your friend. He is like a traveler lost in a storm."
Zoro felt a little uncomfortable when the white-haired priest looked at him. It was his first time facing a genuine priest, and the green-haired man was still a little unaccustomed. He was definitely not able to win the argument with Father Pucci reasoningly.
Miranda did not state her purpose directly. She introduced Sauron to the trusted Father Pucci, saying that the Green Algae Head was not a bad person and would not cause trouble to the Church of Heaven.
The woman was grateful for the church's kindness, but humans are sometimes selfish and when it comes to their own interests, Miranda didn't want to tell the truth directly.
The huge bronze clock on the wall of the church runs very precisely every hour and every second. Miranda couldn't understand the level of craftsmanship contained in it, but she knew it must be very expensive.
A clergy member who often likes to eat for free, no matter how kind he is, will not show his valuable things to outsiders. Leaking money will only bring more troubles and will be detrimental to the development of the Heavenly Church.
The control room that controls the bronze dial has never been open to the public. Miranda wanted to take Zoro to find it secretly, but she didn't expect that Father Pucci was on duty today.
Some things can't be explained at all. Miranda really can't lie.
