Chapter 12 Dispute

Each class is so long.

Della poked the broccoli at the table unhappily. The first-year students had unstable magic power and were not proficient in using wands, so even though the class schedule was not very full, the school still agreed to extend the time of each class to facilitate the guidance of the freshmen.

This seemed like a waste of time for smarter kids like Della and Hermione, but Professor McGonagall made them all sign a book borrowing list so that they could make better use of their time in future classes.

The Defense Against the Dark Arts class might also go to Professor Quirrell to sign a book list.

While chewing the broccoli in her mouth, Della was planning with a divergent mind.

There was a lot of noise around my ears, and the Slytherins at the long table were chatting and sharing food with their friends. From this perspective, they seemed to be no different from the students of other colleges. It was almost the same at the long tables of the four colleges. If there was any difference, it was probably that Ravenclaw was a little quieter, while Gryffindor was particularly noisy.

Maggie had finished swimming on the shoulders of a senior, and after enjoying a plate of rare steak, she began to swim back. Although she knew that she would be able to get to know a lot of people quickly with Maggie, it made Della feel like she was using her eyes, so she let Maggie do what he wanted to do at the table, since there were many people who wanted to feed him anyway.

All eyes on the table followed Maggie's movement. Della was basically used to it. But there was a particularly interesting look among them. The young master was looking at his Maggie with envy and longing.

Della knew that he couldn't bring himself to do that, so she smiled back at Draco. Perhaps only these two people could understand the meaning behind that.

After dinner, Della originally wanted to go back to the lounge directly. She hesitated at the stairs, and finally decided to go to the library to borrow books from Madam Pince. Professor Quirrell didn't seem like a very interesting teacher, but it was always good to have some books in hand.

Thinking of this, she walked upstairs, completely unaware of the few people following her stealthily.

"I really can't stand that Granger! He lectures me like he knows everything!"

Della had only walked up a few flights of stairs when she heard Ron's familiar voice. He was probably talking about being desk mates with Hermione in the morning. She thought so in her heart and walked quickly towards the two figures in front of her.

"Hey! Harry, Ron." Della greeted them with a smile.

"Hey, Della, why are you going upstairs? Isn't the Slytherin common room in the basement?" Harry waved at her and asked with some confusion.

"Oh, Professor McGonagall gave me a list of books. I want to borrow them from Madam Pince first."

"You also got Professor McGonagall's book borrowing list? Oh, yes, you did very well in the Transfiguration class. After you conjured up M, that disheveled Granger tried for a long time before he could conjure up H." Ron sighed, and then silently added in his heart, it was you who made this Transfiguration class suddenly difficult.

Della didn't respond to Ron, but just smiled at him with narrowed eyes. When she was about to say something to Harry, a familiar voice interrupted.

"Harry Potter."

The voice was not very loud, but under Draco's strange pronunciation, it sounded like gnashing of teeth. The three of them turned their heads to look at the light golden head that was slowly walking towards them with two younger brothers.

"This is Crabbe, this is Goyle." Draco said as he walked, and finally came to Harry, "And I am Malfoy, Draco Malfoy."

Ron couldn't help laughing as soon as he finished speaking, which made Draco stop reaching out his hand. He frowned and glared at Ron.

"Why, do you think my name is funny?" He squinted his eyes and looked at Ron. "Red hair, shabby black robes, I can tell at a glance that you are a Weasley, a pure-blood traitor!"

Ron pursed his lips and frowned at Draco, who glanced at Della again before turning to Harry.

"You will soon find out that wizard families are also different. Whether it's a pure-blood traitor like Weasley or the Muggle next to you who was lucky enough to be sorted into Slytherin, they are all at the bottom of the wizarding world."

"And I," Draco said, holding out his hand to Harry and smiling proudly, "can help you."

"I think I know what kind of person I should be friends with." Harry looked at Draco coldly and had no intention of shaking his hand.

Draco's face immediately fell. He glared at Harry and took his hand back. "Humph, you are such an ungrateful savior, Potter!"

After giving the three of them a fierce look, he turned around and led Crabbe and Goyle downstairs.

"What an annoying guy! No wonder he was sorted into Slytherin."

"Ron!" Harry tugged at Ron's sleeve and looked at Della apologetically. Ron also blushed and stammered, not knowing what to say.

"Oh, now that you mention it, I'm still worried." Della sighed in mock sadness, "It seems that except for me, everyone else in the first grade is a so-called pure blood. It may sound funny, but I have only talked to that Malfoy so far."

"Ah? Even your roommate doesn't say hello to you?" Harry looked at her sympathetically.

"I've saved myself that trouble. I have my own room, after all," she said, patting her neck, and Maggie immediately jumped out from her collar, "I have Maggie~"

The two little boys were immediately attracted to Maggie, and Ron opened his mouth in amazement.

"I didn't let him out of the carriage because I was afraid he might scare you." Della looked around, covered her mouth and approached them, whispering, "The Malfoy who was causing trouble for me was scared away by Maggie. He couldn't even stand at that time."

Several people laughed happily. Maggie slid along Della's hand to Harry and just leaned on him. Della was also surprised that Maggie was so close to someone other than herself.

"Maggie seems to like you very much." Della looked at Harry in surprise, looking left and right, as if she was meeting him for the first time.

Harry was also surprised by Maggie's closeness, he boldly touched Maggie, and she rubbed against him, Harry then smiled.

Seeing that Harry was not opposed, Della did not rush to call Maggie back. Although Maggie did not speak to her in a "hissing" voice, Della felt that she seemed to want to stay with Harry for a while longer.

With that in mind, Della pondered for a moment, then smiled at Harry sheepishly, "Harry, maybe you'd like to let Maggie stay with you for a while? I want to go find Quasi tonight, but I don't want Maggie to miss dinner."

"Uh, okay." Harry was stunned for a moment, then nodded in agreement.

"Thank you, this will also help relax my shoulders." Della blinked and rubbed her shoulders.

"Ah, the library is on this floor. I'm leaving now. Please take good care of Maggie for me~" Della waved at them and was about to turn around when she suddenly stopped. "By the way, don't be late again this afternoon or you will lose points."

Della smiled at them narrowly, turned and walked towards the library, and heard Ron's somewhat embarrassed and angry explanation behind her.

Della raised the corners of her lips and put a hand on Kongluo's shoulder. Her mood suddenly became complicated. She actually had a feeling that she couldn't keep her child anymore.

Della shook her slightly curly black hair, shook off those strange thoughts, and walked into the library.

There were a large number of Ravenclaws sitting in the blue room, and of course, there were also quite a few Slytherins wearing green clothes.

Della took out the book borrowing note issued by Professor McGonagall and found Madam Pince. Professor McGonagall said that some of the books were not on the bookshelf in order to prevent younger students from rushing.

After verifying the handwriting, Madam Pince nodded and went to help Della find a book. While waiting for Madam Pince to come back, Della casually raised her head and looked at the bookshelf in front of her.

"Persecuted Wizards", "Origins of Muggles and Wizards", "Water and Fire Magic"...

It is said that these books were placed here by Madam Pince because no one had borrowed them for decades. The names seemed quite interesting.

Della continued to scan, "Alchemy You Don't Know", "Alchemy Brilliance of Nicolas Flamel's Generation", "Alchemy Abused"

These three books immediately attracted Della's attention. She seemed to have seen the name Nick Flamel somewhere before, and there were no alchemy-related courses in the Hogwarts lower grade curriculum.

"What's wrong, little girl? Is there a book you want to borrow?" Madam Pince came back with a book in her arms. She asked Della kindly as she was staring at the bookshelf in a daze.

"Yes, ma'am, I think those three books seem very interesting. May I borrow them, ma'am?"

"Oh, these books, of course you can borrow them, readers are welcome to read them." Madam Pince took the three books with a smile and handed them all to Della.

"Thank you, ma'am." Della bowed slightly and found a seat to sit down with the six books in her hands.

"Elementary Transfiguration: Advanced", "Changes in Everything", "Transformation of Living Things".

The last one should be one that involves transfiguration related to living things. Della first used the miniaturization spell to shrink the three alchemy-related books and put them in her schoolbag. Then she looked at the three borrowed books, which seemed to be arranged according to difficulty. She decided to read these books at noon today.
