Chapter 36 Hogsmeade
"Hey, I knew you'd be here, our Miss Riddle."
"You should come to the library on weekends. You really should go to Ravenclaw."
At the entrance of the library, Della paused, looking at the red-haired twins wearing scarves on the left and right of her with her mouth slightly open. The slightly open elliptical arc quickly turned into a smile on her face, and her beautiful eyes sparkled. "If I were really in Ravenclaw, the wall of books in the lounge would not give you a chance to catch me."
"It's not good to be so hard right after coming out of the infirmary. You need to relax and unwind."
"Hogsmeade is a great place."
"Hogsmeade? I'm not even in my third year yet." Della raised her eyebrows and looked at Fred and George.
"That would be more interesting, wouldn't it?"
"We have plenty of ways."
The boy on the right, whom Della guessed was Fred, took out a thin booklet. People kept passing by and occasionally a few glances were cast at her. Fred and George winked at her. Della smiled softly and walked away with them very cooperatively.
This distance was not very far, just from the library on the second floor to a remote corridor on the third floor. This corridor did not lead to any classroom Della knew, so it was also Della's first time to come to this slightly dim corridor.
"What is this booklet?" When no one else was passing by, Della looked at the two people leading the way and asked, "Could it be that it is something that can help us avoid other people?"
"It's not that strong, but it's enough for us to sneak out without being reported."
"Just watch," George, who was closer to Della, took the Marauder's Map from Fred, "I solemnly declare that I am up to no good!"
As the booklet unfolded automatically, ink-colored lines continued to emerge. In the two men's complacent eyes, Dela reached out and took the booklet handed over by George. "Draco Malfoy" suddenly came into her sight. Dela was stunned for a moment, but soon came to her senses.
This is a map. In addition to showing Draco in the Black Lake Lounge, there are many names floating on it, and many of the names are in motion.
"We are here~" George pointed to the place on the map where their three names were crowded together.
"The Slytherins who will tell on others are here, and here." Fred pointed to several places in a row, and the names of Flint, Parkinson and Draco were all mentioned.
"I'm a Slytherin too~" Della looked up at the two brothers with a half-smile, deliberately lengthening her tone. Maggie also looked out from Della's neck very well and said, "Look, my little snake is still on my body."
"Oh~ Looks like we're in trouble, George." Fred looked at George pitifully, and George also looked at him pitifully.
"So if we accompany the young lady for a day, we can hide our secret." Both of them turned their heads and looked at Della with their puppy-like eyes, speaking in unison.
"It all depends on how you perform today~" Della shrugged slightly, smiled and handed the booklet back. The three paused and continued to walk forward. "By the way, what is that map? It's very interesting. What kind of magic was used to make it?"
"We call it the Marauder's Map, but we don't know the details. We found it from Filch when we were in detention." Fred raised his eyebrows.
"If he can discover the secret of the map, patrolling at night wouldn't be so troublesome~" George said with a smirk.
"That's really a pity." Della pretended to say it with regret, and the three of them chatted and laughed as they turned into a secluded little corner.
When the twins showed her the secret passage, Della couldn't help but marvel. She said with some emotion, "In some aspects, you are really amazing."
"Thank you for the compliment~"
"I hope you'll be happy today~"
"Haha," Della laughed softly, "But next time you go out with a girl, you have to give her some time to prepare."
"receive."
"I think you'll like the sweet exit."
The voices of the three people disappeared in the advancing darkness. When a small piece of wood above their heads was pushed away by the twins, a small ray of light shone on Della's face again. She squinted her eyes in discomfort, took the hand that was handed to her, and was pulled up with the help of the boy's strength.
This is a messy storage room with wooden boxes placed randomly. In addition to some miscellaneous items discarded here, there are also a lot of suspicious wood chips. Della thought there must be a lot of rats here.
"Oh, look at these robes. The rats can't get their candy so they come and get them."
"Next, Della, we have an old robe for you, too."
The heavy robe felt like old wool of poor quality and had many bumps on the touch, probably the work of mice. Della put on the bulky robe without hesitation and also put on the hood that covered her entire face. This was the advantage of the stiff and coarse wool, as it could cover the entire face without falling down to block the view.
"A weird wizard look, that's what it is, Della!"
"Hogsmeade is just like Diagon Alley, full of weirdos wrapped up like this."
They also put on the same woolen clothes, pulled up their hats, and made several threatening gestures towards Della in a serious manner.
"Well, let's go up, this is Honeydukes' cellar."
"You have to be careful. Honeydukes is always popular with students."
Della followed them carefully through the dazzling array of candies and the crowded crowd. The thrill of sneaking around in public made her pale face turn a little red, and even Maggie tightened her grip on her shoulders.
She just focused on George and Fred who were leading her in front of her. Only when the three of them turned into a corner away from the wooden door that kept ringing when it was opened did Della breathe a sigh of relief.
"How about it? Exciting, right?" Seeing that there was no one around, Fred pulled down his hood a little, revealing Weasley's iconic red hair. He turned to look at Della, who was a head shorter than them, and said with some pride.
Della also pulled down her hat, her fair face flushed. She smiled and looked at Fred's eyes that were half-penetrating from his hood. "It's very exciting and interesting."
"Honestly, you should be a Gryffindor. I've never seen a Slytherin break school rules so much outside of Quidditch." A voice came from under the hood on the other side. George also stretched out his hand, but he didn't take off his hat. Instead, he covered Fred's hat with it, causing him to shout in dissatisfaction, "You should also be careful. Don't forget that Percy is not in Hogwarts either - he has been elusive recently."
"Hmph," Fred hummed twice with a hint of dissatisfaction, adjusted his hat, turned around and saw that Della had also put on her hat very tactfully. He coughed twice in a serious manner, "This time, our main destination is--"
"Zora's Joke Shop." Following Fred's drawn-out tone, George continued his words tacitly. He touched Della's arm and tilted his head to signal her to look at the big sign of Zora's Joke Shop not far away.
"A joke shop? Is it a shop that sells props for jokes?"
"The items sold there are much more exquisite than what we make. We just want to show it to the store manager this time." Fred pulled out a wooden box like a magician. Inside was bottles and jars that were plainly packaged but looked very carefully made. There were also a few pieces of hard candy-like things squeezed in the corners of the box. They looked as colorful as the candies in Honeydukes.
"I think we'll probably talk for more than half an hour. Take this, Della," George handed her a button-like black disk, which felt cold in his hand. "This is a signaler made of a callworm. You can walk around here now, and when it calls, it means we're ready. Then we'll meet at Mrs. Pettyfer's Tea House."
"If all goes well and Percy isn't there, I think we could treat you to a nice cup of sweet tea~"
"Besides, as you can see, Della, no one here knows you, so maybe you can act less like Della from Hogwarts."
George's tone became sly. Even through the hood, Della could still imagine him blinking. Fred on the other side also hooked his arm around George's shoulder and responded.
"That's it, our lady."
Their words went through many twists and turns in Della's mind. Before she could fully understand them, her body responded subconsciously. "This is not difficult for me. Pray that I have a good day today, Gryffindors!"
"Oh!" The two of them pretended to wail, and then quickly started laughing again.
"Also, I wish you good business~"
"Got it. We must not let the young lady down. Hahahaha." They all laughed, and the two hooded heads bumped their tips against each other as if they were looking at each other. After waving at Della, they turned around and walked towards the store where their aspirations for the future were stored.
When the twins' figures completely disappeared in front of the fancy wooden door, Della withdrew her gaze. She walked out of the alley and looked at Hogsmeade cautiously.
There was still a thin layer of snow on the street, and every step would leave a shallow footprint. On the surrounding shops there were still some red decorations from the long-gone Christmas. The holiday had passed, and now it seemed a bit desolate.
Della walked casually to the left, her eyes hidden in the hood constantly looking out at the shops of different styles on the street. Although they looked interesting, she did not stop. She was not in the mood to do so.
As the crowd around her gradually dwindled and a long rough fence and a triangular shed appeared in front of her in the distance, Della suddenly opened her eyes wide. She turned her head as if waking up from a dream and observed the buildings around her. They were all the same as what she saw through the mottled glass yesterday.
Her breathing became difficult and her body subconsciously turned around and ran back, leaving footprints of varying depths on the snow.
Last night, unlike Della in Hogwarts, she walked through the Whomping Willow and arrived at a shed.
There, she used dark magic to kill a wizard named Quirrell.
