Chapter 65 The Conflict That Erupted
Fortunately, Harry and Ron were seen at the Gryffindor table early the next morning. As soon as they sat down at the table, they were approached by George and Fred, who hooked their arms around each other's shoulders and talked about something.
Della was thinking about asking them about last night on her way to herbology class after breakfast when a familiar big owl flew in from the corner of her eye.
Oh, it's Ron's owl that has a tricky landing.
Even more surprising than the clumsy owl that fluttered over the potato chips was the howler letter Ron received from Mrs. Weasley.
It wasn't just Ron who was shaking. Hearing the furious tone, Della also felt a sense of empathy. However, not everyone has this kind of empathy. For example, Draco on the opposite side immediately laughed with trembling eyebrows, and the laughter gradually spread. Della felt that this was simply a punishment for Ron.
What a poor kid.
After taking a sip of pumpkin juice from the cup beside her, Della turned around and started talking to senior Alian who was also very calm beside her. She stretched out her right hand that was wrapped around Maggie towards her.
"Senior Ellian, when I was helping Professor Snape get medicine from Professor Sprout the day before yesterday, the professor said that our first lesson this semester is to repot the mandrake. Can you help me take care of Maggie?"
"I'm happy to do it anytime, Della," Aryan took Maggie with great joy. She missed the little snake so much after not seeing her for the holiday. "If possible, I really want to spend more time with you. It's a pity that this is my last year at Hogwarts."
"I almost forgot to congratulate you on your election as Hogwarts' female student council president." Della laughed.
"I know I can be selected," At this time, Ellian showed extraordinary confidence. She raised her head slightly, and a few strands of curly hair fell along with her movement. "This will also be the best stepping stone for me to enter the Ministry of Magic."
"Of course, you are my beautiful, smart and gentle senior~"
"You've become a lot more talkative after this holiday," Aryan pinched Della's upturned nose, and the last trace of worry between her eyebrows relaxed. "I think you must be having a good time at Professor Snape's house."
"Well, it's not bad." Della shrugged.
As soon as breakfast was over, after saying goodbye to Aryan, Della immediately found Ron and Harry. "What's wrong with you?" she asked.
"what......"
Harry and Ron looked at each other and talked bitterly about how they crashed into the wall at Platform Nine and Three Quarters, and then were forced to drive the Weasleys' Muggle car to Hogwarts, but were seen by seven Muggles on the way. After arriving at the school, they damaged the Whomping Willow, which was said to be older than them. Because of these, they were almost expelled.
When it comes to the Whomping Willow, Ron is still very angry. He repeatedly states that the damage he suffered is definitely much more than the minor bumps on the Whomping Willow.
"How could so many things happen in one day?" Della covered her mouth in disbelief.
"Hedwig is still angry." Harry pouted and lowered his head.
"Who do you think they are?" Hermione, who was holding a book at the side, added coldly.
"There's a reason why they're in such a miserable state!" George also came over and hugged Ron.
"It's this guy's fault for not calling us over first when he was driving." Fred added to George's words.
"Come again? Merlin! If you were here, Mum's howling letter would have been twelve feet long this morning!" Ron's already rosy face turned even redder, and he angrily broke free from his brother's arms.
"Okay, second years, it's time to change for Herbology class." Percy appeared from nowhere, standing straight, and spoke in a slow and majestic tone.
Upon hearing the accent, George and Fred immediately imitated it with exaggerated expressions and threatening gestures, as if they were suffering from some kind of illness. When Percy looked at them sharply, the two ran away with a smile.
Afterwards, the four second-year students present could not escape Percy's death glance, but they were not as bold as the twins. They all walked towards the Herbology greenhouse as if they were being chased by a tiger.
After all, I am almost late!
The four of them hurried and finally entered the greenhouse as the bell rang. As soon as they walked in, Della was pulled aside by Draco. He didn't seem very happy, but soon Professor Sprout began to explain today's class. Draco pouted and put on earmuffs to suppress what he wanted to say.
He really didn't like Della being so close to the so-called saviors, and this dislike became particularly serious after a long vacation.
Even when Neville fainted from the mandrake in the Herbology class, Draco didn't even give him a glance. He still had a pout on his face, and the joy he had felt in the morning from seeing Weasley in trouble was gone, and he just mechanically did the work in his hands.
"What's wrong with you, Draco?" On the way to the Transfiguration classroom after the Herbology class, Della grabbed Draco's robe when she saw that he was still unhappy and silent.
"I don't like you being with those Gryffindors," Draco slowed down his pace and turned to look at Della, his fair face full of displeasure, "Isn't it enough to have me?"
"But they are all my friends, Draco." Della frowned.
"Friends, friends! I really can't understand what's good about a group of stupid lions!" He growled softly, shook off Della's hand on his robe and walked towards the Transfiguration classroom.
"Draco!" Della called out briefly. She didn't quite understand the boy's emotions, so she could only follow him quickly.
After sitting in the classroom, Draco showed no desire to talk. He supported his face with one hand and looked out the window. Even though Della called him softly a few times, he never turned his head to look at her.
"..." Della pursed her lips. She looked at the bracelet on Draco's wrist that he had just put on yesterday, let out a light breath, turned her head, opened her schoolbag and prepared to take out the books for today's Transfiguration class.
When her hand was groping in the bag, she suddenly felt something rough. Della then realized that she had also put the wooden block that the first-year student named Luna gave her last night into her schoolbag.
She paused, taking out the block of wood and the book, just as Hermione came over and they greeted each other.
"Another stupid lion." Draco turned his head briefly, glared at Hermione, said something indifferent, and quickly turned his head back.
"..." Della didn't say anything else. She looked at the block of wood in front of her and tentatively held it in front of her. A fresh scent of grass suddenly rushed into her nose. Della didn't know if this fragrance could drive away the harassing horseflies in Luna's mouth that made people lose their minds, but she did calm down a lot.
Professor McGonagall walked in. She glanced around the classroom first, nodded slightly, and then explained the content of today's class. "Today we will learn how to turn animals into goblets."
Professor McGonagall pointed her wand at the bird on the shelf as she spoke, "Villa Vito." The bird immediately turned into a clear goblet. After casting the spell, McGonagall glanced down and saw the mouse on Ron's desk.
She walked over to Ron's table. "Come and try it, Mr. Weasley," she said to Ron.
Ron, who was called out, seemed a little nervous, and his hand trembled slightly as he waved the wand. Unfortunately, Della could see that his gestures were wrong, and his wand, which was only wrapped with two circles of tape, was obviously not suitable for casting spells.
Sure enough, Ron Scaly turned into a strange furry cup with a long tail. Everyone in the classroom laughed again, and Draco beside him also sneered.
"Look, that's the Weasleys, poor and miserable, making a fool of themselves. I heard that the savior is also staying in their shabby house this summer. It really shows what kind of people will get together."
"If you're talking about the Weasleys, I was there this summer too," Della's face showed an unusual calmness. Looking at Draco's suddenly stiff face, she pursed her lips and continued speaking in a low voice.
"I know you have a set of standards for classifying wizards, and I also know that you and I are not on the same level according to that standard."
"But I also hope you understand that I am not with you because of your charity. I don't have to conform to your wishes."
"I want to be friends with you, and I also want to be friends with Harry, Hermione, and the Weasleys," Della felt that McGonagall was about to walk up to them, but she still said the last sentence, "I am not bound by any constraints, and I think we all need to calm down, Draco."
The parchment tapped her shoulder gently, and Della turned to look at Professor McGonagall, "I'm sorry, Professor. I won't do that again."
There was no expression on her face, she just spoke softly.
