Chapter 9 breathlessness
Chapter 9 breathlessness
"Come, I will teach you the breathing method first. All primates in the world use this method as the basis for breathing in and out spiritual energy.
“Tunna, or breathing, is something that everyone is born with, but if you want to absorb spiritual energy, there is a lot of knowledge involved.
"Breathe through the nose and in through the mouth? Long exhalation and short inhalation? Moreover, the breathing is different in different days and nights, four seasons, and directions. Some even build tall buildings, set up vast altars, and bury their bodies just for breathing. When they reach a subtle and profound level, with one inhalation, rivers and lakes dry up, and with one exhalation, the morning glow appears."
"I will now teach you a method. It has no name. It is a fragment found by the fourth generation master of Meiji Mountain from an ancient relic. We just call it the Five-Character Mantra. This is a method that specializes in taking in the five elements of qi. It responds to the seasons and the five internal organs of the body. It is based on breathing and guided by mantras. At the same time, it can be combined with other body formations, external alchemy, and visualization methods. It is a practical and universal magic."
After saying that, Su Kong held the jade ruyi and pointed it at the center of the cloud's eyebrows, and when the two intersected, light surged.
When the jade ruyi came, Yunqi closed his eyes subconsciously. He first felt a little coldness between his eyebrows, and then he saw five ancient characters in the darkness.
He had never seen these words before. They were in an unfamiliar font, but when he looked closely, they seemed familiar. Soon, he remembered that this seemed to be Yunli, but it should be an older type of Yunli.
On the jade pendant on his waist was a piece of Yunli written in blood ink. It was written with the three words Cheng Yunqi. Feng Jihu had taught him before, but at this moment, no one had ever taught him these five ancient Yunli characters in the dark, but he could read the syllables:
【Hush】, 【Ha】, 【Huh】, 【Shh】, 【Blow】.
"Come on, stand up."
Yunqi stood up and stopped when he heard this.
“Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, head and neck straight, chest and back pulled in, waist and hips relaxed, knees slightly bent, whole body relaxed, breathing naturally.”
Yunqi did as he was told and assumed a stance.
"Put your heels down, lift your anus and contract your kidneys, breathe along your abdomen, exhale first and then inhale, exhale long, read the word on your exhaling breath, press your tongue against your lower teeth, press the tongue surface down, read the word [ha]!"
Then the cloud pronounced that syllable when it exhaled.
"Lightly touch the ground with your big toes, lift your hands from the front of your lower abdomen with your palms facing inward, pass through the front of your body to the middle of your breasts, turn your palms outward, and lift them up to your eyes. Do it slowly!"
Yunqi only felt that he had exhaled all the turbid air in his body.
"When you have finished breathing, inhale, turn your palms over to face you, and slowly lower them in front of you, through your chest and abdomen, to your sides. OK, close."
"Come again."
Do this six times.
After exhaling the foul air for the sixth time, inhale the cloud air naturally.
But this time, he felt something strange. A warm air was inhaled into his mouth. Before he could react, the air was swallowed into his throat. Soon, his chest also became warm.
Su Kong instantly noticed the different look in Yunqi's eyes.
"Are you angry?"
Yunqi's breathing was interrupted, but he did not feel uncomfortable. Instead, he felt a little relaxed. The breathing just now made him feel a little tired, and he thought that this should be the rhythm of this breathing method.
He replied: "Just now I felt a warm current in my mouth, flowing down my throat, and then my heart felt slightly warm."
"You are angry."
Sukong repeated it, a smile on his face, "You can go to the Metropolitan Institute to collect your prize money."
"Ok?"
Yunqi was a little confused.
"If you take six breaths and eat Qi, you should be on the Southern Dipper Ranking."
Yunqi was also very happy to hear this. Judging from the teacher's reaction, this should be a good result. He had been a little worried before. He was naturally a genius in the mortal world. He could read at the age of one, practice gymnastics at the age of two, had a photographic memory at the age of three, and had cultivated clear spiritual energy at the age of five. When he was ten years old, his father could no longer teach him. However, the mountains were two different worlds. If he did not enter the door, he would surely regret it for the rest of his life.
Fortunately, it seems that I am doing well in the mountains now.
"Very good, take a break and remember the key points I just mentioned."
Yunqi nodded, closed his eyes and recalled the rhythm of his exhalation and the key points of the movements.
After about half a quarter of an hour, Su Kong signaled to continue.
Yunqi felt much better after regulating his breathing, and the feeling of exhaustion was gone.
"Close your lips slightly, creating a horizontal tension, point the tip of your tongue forward and slightly retract it inward, leaving a gap between your upper and lower teeth, exhale, and say the word [hush]!" "Raise your hands from the front of your lower abdomen, still slowly, with the backs of your hands facing each other, passing through the ribs until they are level with your shoulders. Spread your arms upward, to the left and right, like a bird spreading its wings, with your palms tilted upward"
"Higher!"
"Look inward with your eyes, and let them widen as you exhale."
"Okay, when you run out of air, inhale, bend your arms, and slowly lower your hands in front of your face, chest, and abdomen, and let them hang down at your sides. Okay, do this six times, and that's one breath."
This time, Yunqi felt like he had inhaled a ball of cool air, which disappeared after entering his throat. Then, he felt a cool sensation in his upper right abdomen, and his vision also became much clearer.
Yunqi knew that was the location of the liver.
Next, under Su Kong's guidance, Yun Qi tried the three breathing techniques of "hu", "si" and "chui" successively, which respectively absorbed the earth, metal and water of the Five Elements into the spleen, lungs and kidneys.
"You are very good."
Su Kong said seriously. In her opinion, this disciple was really easy to teach. She didn't need to say everything twice, nor did she need to explain the pronunciation of each word and the key points of each action. She could teach him easily with just some verbal guidance.
Yunqi bowed and said, "Master, your guidance is good."
He spoke very seriously, in his opinion, this teacher was really brilliant, his words were concise and just right, he didn't say a word of nonsense, and the magic that allowed the goalkeeper to directly project the ancient words into his mind was really magical, which saved a lot of time.
"That's all for today. You should practice these five mantras. Remember, you should practice them in accordance with the weather and terrain. Exhaling six times is one level. When you have reached the ninth level or when you can no longer breathe, come find me."
"Can't eat?"
Yunqi was a little confused.
Sukong explained: "No matter how big your stomach is, you will always be full."
Yunqi understood, nodded in agreement, and prepared to leave.
"Oh, by the way, there is one more thing while eating air."
"Please give your instructions, Master."
"In cultivation, the Dharma is inseparable from thoughts, and thoughts are inseparable from the Dharma. When thoughts move, the Qi follows. When the Qi arrives, if the thoughts are scattered, no matter how much spiritual energy you have, it will be useless. When you eat Qi, you must concentrate your thoughts. I have a method. If you want to practice this method, you must first build a Taoist palace in your brain.
"This palace cannot be copied from the mountains or books. You have to imagine it out of thin air. The more magnificent and complicated the better. You can build halls, platforms, towers, pavilions, pagodas, altars... as you like, but you can't have too many less. Steps, doors, windows, walls, courtyards, all of them must be as detailed as possible. You can let your imagination run wild.
"Just one thing to make clear: beams, columns, brackets, arches, bricks, tiles, paint, these most basic things must follow the standards and rules, and not be fanciful."
Yunqi thought about it for a while and felt that it was not simple, so he asked, "Is there a time limit?"
Su Kong said: "There is no limit. When you come next time, I will go in and take a look. It's as much as you build. Also, remember, when you build in your mind, you can't borrow things or write down a draft."
Yunqi agreed and asked again: "Since it is a Taoist temple, there must be a main deity in the temple. I wonder which deity should be worshipped in the Taoist temple in my mind?"
Su Kong was a little surprised when he heard this, and took a deep look at the clouds before saying:
"You are indeed very talented. My original intention was to teach you only the art of concentration, but since you asked, I will say a few more words.
"You must understand that the five elements of Qi needed to open the palace are huge, and the higher the quality and meaning, the better. If you want to open the palace as soon as possible, you can't avoid the method of visualization. It is only a matter of time before you can contemplate the inner scene in the acupoints of the physical body.
“Since you have mentioned which god to enshrine in the Taoist palace in your brain, I think, if you really have the energy to spare, you might as well think about what kind of five elements you plan to absorb when you open up your palace, and which inner god you want to contemplate. Now visualize the image of the god, and then it will naturally come out of the palace in your brain and enter the internal organs and acupoints.
"Since you have just entered the mountain gate, I might as well explain it more clearly. For this inner scene god, it is not good if the status is too high, it is difficult to contemplate the god, and it is not good if the status is too low, it is not beneficial to practice; it is not good if the time of enlightenment is too far away, the connection with the spiritual energy of the world is weak, and it is not good if the time of enlightenment is too recent, it is easy to form cause and effect; it is not good to be born in the human race, be careful of being occupied by others, otherwise, demons, ghosts, spirits, etc. are suitable."
Yunqi nodded, thinking about it, and asked again:
"Teacher, I can still observe the real objects and read the specifications to understand the requirements of the construction of the Taoist Palace, but how can I find the charm of the inner scenery god?"
"There are illustrations of ancient gods and demons in the sect. You can visualize them. When you travel outside the sect in the future, if you see a temple in the mountains, you might as well stop and stay."
Yunqi agreed and took his leave.
Signed.
