Chapter 72 Mudblood

Della had planned to spend Saturday in the library as usual, but on the way to the library corridor, she ran into Hagrid, who looked a little distressed.

"What's wrong, Hagrid?" Pinching the strap of her bag, Della took a few quick steps to Hagrid's side.

"Oh, Della! I was looking for you!" Hagrid bent down slightly and looked at Della happily. "You helped me feed Wuwu and the others last time. These two days, they have been clamoring to eat meat again. Meat is not a problem, but right now I'm busy taking care of the new hippogriffs, and I really can't refuse them--"

The more Hagrid spoke, the lower his voice became, the longer his tone dragged out, and the more earnest his eyes looked at Della. After realizing Hagrid's intention, Della laughed and said, "That's nothing. Come on, Hagrid. I'm happy to help."

"That's a great help. I know I should be strict, but Wuwu rarely acts like a spoiled child with me. It's really irresistible," Hagrid was obviously relieved. He walked towards the stone cottage with Della. Along the way, he was still mumbling, "Alas, a rooster died yesterday. Its neck was only broken, and no one came to eat it. It's really strange."

"Just a broken neck? Did someone come to play a prank on you, Hagrid?"

"This kind of prank is so nasty now," Hagrid frowned, then quickly relaxed. "It's not a big deal, just a little weird. I'd better concentrate on taking care of Buckbeak. Oh! This is the name I gave to the hippogriff."

"I can tell you like him very much, Hagrid." Della saw a yellow pumpkin patch in front of Hagrid's hut from afar.

"Buckbeak is so handsome. Once I get along well with him I'll take you to meet him. He's really handsome, Della." Hagrid began to praise him constantly.

"I'm looking forward to it, Hagrid."

As they were talking, they walked to the pumpkin patch where there were two barrels of meat. Hagrid picked up the two full barrels of meat and led Della back to the forest farm, where several large barrels of meat had been neatly stacked.

At first, Della used the levitation spell to feed the thestrals from a distance just like she did that day, but after realizing how docile the thestrals were, she simply sat on one. The other thestrals around her made a small commotion at first, but soon calmed down on their own.

Gently pinching the scales on the Thestral's long neck, Della used a levitation spell to summon the meat from a distance and continued to feed it slowly. She did not deliberately control the Thestral under her, but just let it walk freely like riding a pony, and tacitly allowed it to eat a little more meat.

When Hagrid came over with Buckbeak, what he saw was Della riding the obviously full Crow and slowly digesting her food. If Della only wore a riding suit, she would be like the noble Muggles in the stable that Hagrid had seen from afar.

"Come here, Wuwu!" Hagrid first called out, and then waved his hand to signal Wuwu to carry Della over. When they came closer, he first stroked Wuwu's head, then helped Della down, "I must say, you two get along really well."

"Wuwu is very obedient." Della also touched the side of Wuwu's neck near his head. Following Hagrid's figure, pure white and smooth Buckbeak appeared in front of her. Such a smooth and healthy body is rare even in the magic world. Della couldn't help but exclaimed, "He is so beautiful."

"Buckbeak is even more beautiful when he flies. Once I have established a good relationship with him, I can introduce him to you. Buckbeak flies very fast!"

"Then I may not be able to handle it," Della lowered her brows in embarrassment. She looked at Hagrid, "Although I can ride, I'm not very used to flying brooms. I think I'm more suitable for the ground."

"That's a shame, but everyone has their strengths and weaknesses." Hagrid followed Della's words and after settling Buckbeak and Wuwu, he took Della to the stone house. Calculating the time, the tea on his stove was almost ready.

But when they walked into the stone house and Hagrid had just taken the tea off the stove, the trio came in a hurry. Hermione even shouted loudly outside the door, "Hagrid!"

The shout almost made Hagrid drop the hot tea in his hand. He exhaled, quickly put the teapot on the table, and then walked towards the door with Della who had already stood up.

"vomit!"

As they walked into the door, they heard Ron vomiting in pain and a sticky slug fell to the ground. Hagrid and Della wrinkled their noses and leaned back slightly, but when they saw Ron's overly pale face, they gathered around him again.

"Merlin! What happened?" Hagrid said as he picked up the barrel next to him and handed it to Ron. Della, Harry and Hermione helped Ron in.

"Ron was hit by his own spell." Harry said after helping Ron sit down.

"Backlash? Who was this spell originally intended for?" Hagrid, who was checking Ron's body, looked at Harry.

"...It's Malfoy," Harry paused, then slowly said Malfoy's name. His green eyes quickly glanced at Della, and he bit his lip and added, "Malfoy said Hermione is a mudblood."

"Merlin!" Hagrid opened his eyes wide and immediately looked at Hermione.

"Don't look at me like that, Hagrid. I don't really understand the term either," Hermione, who had been paying attention to Ron's situation, felt embarrassed for a moment. She tried her best to keep a straight face. "But everyone seems very angry."

"I heard Ron say this once before. He said that this is a name that can make enemies in the wizarding world." As he said this, Harry looked at Della.

To be honest, it was not easy for Della to say anything when Draco was involved. However, Ron was still talking and Hagrid was hesitating about his words. Besides, this was a good time to express her opinion, so Della spoke.

"Mudblood is a term used by some people to refer to wizards whose parents are both Muggles. It means dirty and lowly blood. Generally speaking, this term does not appear in sophisticated books, and few people say it to your face. So it is normal for people like us who come from the Muggle world not to know about it." Della said as if answering a question.

"This is all nonsense! Many wizards today are half-blood. This statement is just the arrogance of some pure-blood families!" Hagrid said angrily. He looked at Hermione and Della, "Don't take these things to heart. You are far more talented than many wizards I have seen. I think the spells you can't recite haven't been invented yet!"

As he said this, he called Hermione and Della into his arms. However, this warm scene did not last for three seconds before it was interrupted by the sound of Ron vomiting. Hermione and Della looked at each other and laughed with red faces. Ron was still saying weakly, "This is disgusting." Then he vomited violently again.

"Well, in your case, you can only wait until you finish vomiting. It won't do any harm to your body, but it does feel a little..." Hagrid stopped talking and looked at Ron with deep pity in his eyes.

"Ugh!" He was responded with a loud vomiting sound.

"I've long thought that Ron's wand, which was simply glued on, is no longer suitable for casting spells." Looking at Ron's pale face and thinking about the endless situations that had arisen in class these days, Della suggested this.

"Don't! My mother will kill me if she knows! - Ugh!" Ron said with difficulty, and saying so many words in one breath made his face even paler.

"It's better to suffer a short pain than a long one, Ron." Della sighed and shook her head.

"Even so, we still have detention tonight, Ron." Harry added, and Ron vomited even harder when he heard it.

As Ron vomited, Hagrid poured them some hot tea while he continued to deal with the half-plucked chicken. The few of them started chatting, and if Ron hadn't vomited a few more times, it would probably have been just like any other day.
