Chapter 117 Misplaced Information
The trio pushed each other secretly. Della did not urge them, but just narrowed her eyes slightly and observed the eye contact between them.
The thing is with Hermione, so she probably won't stay; Ron is the easiest to trick, but he can't stay either; although Harry can't hide it very well, at the moment, it seems more likely that he will stay.
Just as Della guessed, Ron and Hermione went upstairs again, using the excuse of going to the library, while Harry swallowed his saliva and led Della away from the staircase.
"Why are you doing this today?" Following Harry, Della glanced back subtly. She felt that Harry's action of taking her away from the stairs was too deliberate.
"Uh... well..." Harry stuttered when he didn't expect Della to ask this right away. He looked at the wall that was receding as they moved forward, and tried his best to make excuses, "We, uh, we just want to teach Snape a lesson."
"I saw Hermione go out." Della, who only noticed that Hermione was missing, said calmly. She moved her nose and suddenly smelled a herbal scent on Harry that did not belong to today's Potions class.
"She went out, uh, she went out..." Harry spoke intermittently. He touched his sweaty forehead and couldn't say anything for a while.
The unique spicy taste of boiled leeches, the aroma of sap grass, and the sweet fragrance of two-ear grass...
Having just finished Potions class, Harry's scent was mixed, but Della still managed to detect several recognizable ingredients.
But considering that Harry and Ron hated Potions class, he probably got the smell from watching Hermione prepare potions.
"I won't tell tales, Harry," Della lowered her eyes and pretended to be worried, "I'm just curious about what you are doing. You know, I am also... If you are doing anything, I would be happy to help."
"You'll be fine, Della." Harry was strangely calm when he said this. He couldn't help but feel soft-hearted towards his friend, and the guilty feeling he had concealed in the infirmary before came back, but before confessing, he remembered Malfoy's sarcastic face.
"That elf named Dobby!" Harry suddenly mentioned loudly the house-elf that Della had seen at Vernon's house. "He was cursed. In order to save him, we can only steal some ingredients to prepare the potion."
"Him? He is in Hogwarts now?" Della asked. She quickly thought of Harry's deliberate concealment that day in the infirmary.
"Uh, I don't know. He said he would come to get the potion from us." Harry's eyes turned around in panic and he immediately changed the subject. "Because, he came to see me specially, so I couldn't leave him alone."
"I see..." Della's eyebrows moved, not picking up on Harry's flawed excuses, "What kind of curse was he hit by? What are the symptoms? I think I can help."
"He, Dobby he..." Harry was stuck. He couldn't talk nonsense about spells and symptoms in front of people who knew more than him. He could only bite the bullet and perfunctorily said, "I didn't remember the term Hermione said, but she said she had a way to cure Dobby..."
"Well, it seems I can't help you much." Della shook her head and lowered her gaze to make Harry feel less oppressed. "You can come to me next time if you have any problems, Harry."
"Okay, okay, then I'll go find Hermione and the others first." Harry breathed a sigh of relief, gave a forced smile, waved his hand and walked away.
True or false, Harry also used this technique unconsciously. After staring at the boy's back for a while, Della analyzed the information she had obtained this time.
Dobby and the potion are real, the reason and purpose are fake.
Dobby showed up and seemed to have brought some information, but that was all. Della felt that the house-elf did not seem like a supporting role for the trio.
The potion is being made, but it has nothing to do with Dobby. They should be investigating something, and judging from the fact that they are deliberately hiding their identities, the investigation should start from Slytherin, or even the people around her.
Slytherin, people around...
Draco?
Um......
Della thought about it carefully. She felt that since the heir appeared, Draco had not done anything particularly out of line, nor had he said anything particularly excessive, but the trio still had to start from this aspect.
Could that Dobby be from the Malfoy family?
Della went through the chain of clues and found that the explanation made sense, and she felt somewhat certain.
In the evening, she learned from Snape that the missing materials were the horns of a bicorn and the skin of a boomslang. Combined with the smell of several herbs on Harry's body, Della confirmed that the potion they were mixing was a polyjuice potion.
Now, Della was more certain of the chain of clues she had deduced. Harry discovered that Dobby was from the Malfoy family (which could also explain the concealment in the infirmary), so they decided to prepare the Polyjuice Potion to test Draco.
Just like that, Della, who was unaware of the bad words Draco and the trio had said in the library, misjudged the reason why the Iron Triangle wanted to investigate Draco, and accidentally came to the correct conclusion, but also ignored the really important information.
When they first met, Harry asked Dobby if the matter was related to Voldemort, and Dobby's answer was, "Not the one who must not be named."
Harry didn't understand the hint, nor did he pass on any clues of the hint, causing everyone in the school who could enter the Chamber of Secrets to lack the most important preparation.
Maggie, who knew the most information and had a general grasp of the progress of all parties, slipped into Ginny's dormitory in Gryffindor tonight.
Della's assignment for Maggie gave him a permanent excuse to be in the Shrieking Shack, allowing him to secretly carve out time at night to identify anomalies.
He deftly picked out the old diary from the books that Ginny had carefully piled up. Maggie spread out the book, and with the moonlight coming through the window, he wrote the first line with a pen dipped in ink.
'Hello, I am part of him too.'
The ink faded in an instant, but after a while, another line of ink words appeared.
【Why are you here? 】
'Della Riddle, she's a second-year Parseltongue, I followed her in. ' Maggie narrowed her eyes slightly and continued to move her snake tail.
[Della Riddle, I know her, Ginny Weasley wrote about her, and I know you, Maggie, and it seems that she is indeed the daughter of the man who was defeated by the baby.]
Sure enough, not only the connection between the Horcruxes, but also the connection between the main body and the Horcruxes is limited, and this piece of soul seems to be different...
Maggie's yellow eyes flashed, and he continued to write, 'In terms of bloodline, it is true, but Della was abandoned in an orphanage when she was young. I took care of her growth, but she was found by Dumbledore first.'
[She, is she from there? ]
'There is a tendency,' Maggie wrote slowly.
[What a shame, she is now the second person I want to see. ]
"It's more convenient to do it with someone who won't be suspected. Don't you want to know a little more information now?"
[I am happy to do so. The first-grade girl is easy to guide, but she knows too little information.]
'First, you should know that Dumbledore would be pleased with your resurrection.'
Maggie wrote that the contact with this soul made him feel a long-lost hunger, and even the venom glands that had not moved for many years began to stir. He suppressed this psychological urge to devour, trying his best not to end up with a mouth full of venom, and continued to move his tail steadily.
'But he was extremely tolerant of Harry Potter's behavior, and at the same time, Harry Potter was his bottom line.'
