Chapter 149 Unfair Trial

Della woke up in a small room of less than six square meters. When she opened her eyes, she first saw the gray ceiling. After taking a quick glance at the cramped, windowless, cold room, the numbness and restraint on her wrist attracted her attention.

She raised her hands and found that a thin silver chain bound her hands together. When she moved slightly, the red marks under the chain appeared. Della frowned and sat up with the support of her shoulders.

"Snapped!"

The light above my head suddenly came on, and the ginger light gave the cold room some deliberate warmth. Then a capable female voice echoed in the room, "Oh, it seems you're awake!"

Della's fingers on her legs moved without any special reaction. After a while, the sound of a lock being unlocked came from the door diagonally opposite her.

There were four people in total, two of them stayed at the door, and two of them walked in. As soon as the two men loosened the silver chain on Della's hand, they immediately signaled her to put her hands behind her back.

Della's hands were tied again, and she could only walk out with them in an uncomfortable hunched posture.

They led her into a small room just a few meters away, untied the silver chain that bound her, and then tied her hands again at the front.

Besides them, there was a table, two chairs, and a sitting brown-haired woman in the room. She had thin lips and a straight nose, but her cheekbones were a little protruding due to her thinness. However, she looked energetic and overall looked no more than thirty years old.

“I can’t help it. I don’t want to trouble you like this, but rules are rules.” The woman spoke, her gray eyes looking Della up and down.

Hearing the same capable female voice as before, Della, who had been silently cooperating, glanced at her, then sat across the table from the woman as instructed.

"Let me introduce myself first. I'm Xavier Nanni, the interrogator in charge of you this time." Xavier extended her hand to Dela.

There was a bright white lamp on the table facing Della. Saviya's hand was just in the middle of the light source, which made Della blink. She looked at the pale hand under the light, stretched out her bound hand and shook it. "Della Riddle, a student of Hogwarts," Della introduced herself in the same way.

"I also graduated from Hogwarts. Can you tell which college I'm from?" Saviya smiled, making her cheekbones look more prominent.

"Gryffindor?"

"Huh? How did you figure that out? People in this interrogation room always guess that I'm from Slytherin." Saviya fiddled with the quill in her hand and asked Della.

"It's just a feeling." Della turned her gaze to the quill held by Saviya.

"That's a good intuition. Let's get to the point now," Shavia took the parchment beside her and looked up at Della. "In two of the three reports by Agent Royea, you were listed as a suspect. Do you know why?"

Della shook her head, and Shavia continued, "Because there are too few traces in the auditorium and the dormitory. It can even be said that there is no trace of a second person. Della Riddle, did you direct and act out all those things yourself?"

"No, Miss Nanny, if possible, could you tell me more about the report? I'm still a little confused about the situation." Della answered calmly.

Shavia looked at the two investigation reports in her hand, each of which listed three suspects, and said calmly, "You are the only suspect, Della."

"Shouldn't this kind of interrogation start by asking me what happened?" Della saw the unfriendly tone of the woman in front of her, and she asked back simply.

"Of course, you can say it, but I don't recommend you to do so," Saviya curled her lips, "The person sitting opposite me always likes to use a set of excuses to clear suspicion first, but when questioned again, he will come up with all kinds of excuses such as remembering it wrong. At this time, it is no longer a case of confession and leniency."

"First of all, the attack in Hogwarts was not done by me." Della's expression did not change at all because of what Saviya said. "Then, regarding the attack against me, I can tell you the whole process."

"Okay," Shavia sounded a little helpless. She waved her hand and said, "Please go ahead."

"Draco Malfoy and I found the diary that Harry Potter dropped on the afternoon of Valentine's Day. We returned the diary to Harry Potter at that time. Many people saw it at the time," Della continued, "but when I went back home in the evening, I found that the book had run to my desk by itself. I opened it and felt a suction force. At that time, I used the fire spell and a small dagger to resist, but I still fainted in the end. I don't know what happened after that."

"So, you haven't seen the murderer? That's a valuable confession," Savior said with a sneer, "Then why did you walk out after you woke up in the auditorium that day? Was it because you heard Aidan's broadcast, so you, a Parseltongue, wanted to call out to the basilisk? Its traces stopped right there."

"..." Della paused, she guessed Saviya's attitude, and finally admitted that she was a Parseltongue, "I am indeed a Parseltongue, but Headmaster Dumbledore knew this when I entered school, and I did not hide this from my adoptive father, Professor Snape."

"I did want to stop the basilisk when I walked out that day," Della continued, licking her lips that were dry from talking all the time, "but I didn't run into it. I fainted after just a few steps, and I think my body is still weak now."

"Well, you have to remember your confession now." Saviya took another look at the report in her hand. She didn't find anything in it that could prove that Della's words were wrong. She knocked on the table twice. "You are no longer in the category of leniency for confessing."

"Knock knock--" The knock on the door sounded twice restrainedly. After the residual sound that spread into the room faded away, Saviya shouted "Come in".

Two cups of tea were placed on the table. Della looked at the steaming tea in front of her. Her throat boiled, but she didn't move. She just raised her eyes and met Saviya's.

"Drink it. It's my fault for not thinking it through. You just woke up. It would be best if we could end this interrogation quickly so that you can have a good rest." As Saviya said this, her face suddenly became amiable.

Hearing this, Della picked up the teacup with difficulty with her tied hands. When she raised it halfway in the air, she could smell some ingredients and medicine in the tea fragrance.

The bitter taste of roasted fern leaves, the spicy taste of mist seaweed after ice extraction, the sweet after-taste of fairy dew after purification...

It's truth serum.

Della guessed it, but she didn't stop at all. She put her mouth on the edge of the cup and carefully drank half a cup of tea. As soon as she put down the cup, Saviya handed her a handkerchief.

"Thank you." Della took the handkerchief and wiped her mouth.

"Ah, it's actually quite interesting. You know, the famous Harry Potter was sitting right where you are this morning," Saviya started another conversation in a casual tone. "He told me that the murderer was a boy who called himself Tom Marvolo Riddle, and he said that the student council president from fifty years ago was Voldemort."

"So, Miss Nanny wants to convict me because of my last name?" Della raised her eyebrows.

"No, it was Harry Potter who claimed that you were Voldemort's daughter," Savior replied, using a regretful tone, "but he was unwilling to testify to this, without any consideration for poor Miss Weasley."

"What?" Della looked at her and frowned.

"It is undeniable that you all mentioned the diary, but we did not find anything unusual in it. If we cannot prove the existence of that Tom, the person on trial will only be Ginevra Molly Weasley."

"After all, she admitted it herself, crying and admitting it right where you are." Shavia signaled with her eyes, "I can see that the little girl would not do such a thing, but the murderer in the diary is really ridiculous. Besides, compared to her, I still think you are more suspicious."

"There may not be only one murderer, right? Are you the accomplice, Miss Riddle?" Saviya leaned forward and asked with a sense of oppression.

"No, Miss Nanny, no matter how many times you ask, my answer will still be the same." Della met Saviya's eyes without fear.

"Okay, let me confirm it again." Saviya sat back, picked up the parchment at hand, and confirmed Della's confession word by word, and Della did give a completely consistent confession.

Saviya's expression gradually turned ugly. She looked at Della's face which showed no emotion, and some hatred flashed in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it. Then she waved her hand, and the two people who had just brought Della over walked in.

"I think you can take a break today, and we'll continue tomorrow, Della." Saviya sat in her seat, watching Della coldly as she was controlled by two men and fell into that humiliating posture with her waist bent over again.

"See you tomorrow, Miss Nanny." Della did not show any discomfort because of Saviya's condescending attitude. She turned her head to look at Saviya and responded normally.

Della was sent back to the small windowless room. She waited in there for a while, but was only served a simple dinner mixed with truth serum. Even this dinner was not enough to fill the stomach of a twelve or thirteen-year-old child.

She had just woken up, and not only did no doctor come to see her, she was also being held like a prisoner.

There is no doubt that she was being treated abnormally, but it was clear that this woman, Saviya, had a high level of control over this place, so it seemed that she would have to live like this for a long time.

Della scooped up a spoonful of hot soup and blew it gently. She glanced at the spoonful of truth serum soup and slowly put it into her mouth.

The principle of truth serum is to make the human soul vibrate, and then pry out the secrets buried deep in the soul. This kind of thing is okay if used once or twice, but if used too many times, a constantly trembling soul will have no resistance for a period of time, and will accept all suggestions.

Della felt Saviya's determination to convict her. If it weren't for her extraordinary soul, it would not be easy to fool her today.

But her sealed soul is completely immune to this kind of potion.

Della decided to play with Shavia.
