The whole classroom was in a mess because of the elves, and even his own wand was thrown out of the window.
He used the excuse of helping to clear out pests yesterday and searched for a long time in the bushes before he found it.
After that incident, Lockhart realized that he probably wouldn't be able to perform those fancy operations anymore.
Besides, third graders are much harder to fool than second graders.
So today he plans to play it safe.
When the students saw the book "Traveling with Vampires" in his hand, they all frowned, even the die-hard fans were no exception.
As soon as they saw the book, they couldn't help but think of the days last year when they were dominated by Professor Quirrell's "reading class", and a faint smell of garlic wafted to their noses.
"Merlin's beard... I don't think we have to study again this year!" said a Gryffindor next to Kyle in pain.
And there are many people like him.
Lockhart quickly told them the answer.
The good news is that they don't have to read stupid books anymore...but the bad news is that they have to act this time.
Lockhart weaved the content of his book into a dramatic segment and had the students perform it together, like some kind of alternative stage play.
To be honest, this is worse than studying... Unfortunately Lockhart doesn't think so.
He probably thought that this way of performing could better highlight his bravery.
And performances require actors.
Lockhart
“It must be great to have him as a foil for me.”
"Oh, and that second-year Harry Potter is pretty good too."
Lockhart thought so in his mind and did so.
He called Kyle to the podium and decided that he would play the vampire in the book.
"Professor, can I ask you a question before the performance?" Kyle said.
"Ask me anything. I'll give you a hundred," said Lockhart, smoothing his hair to make himself look as close to the book as possible.
Kyle casually opened the book "Traveling with Vampires" and glanced at it.
"In this part... you used the Sunshine Spell to easily repel the vampire that pounced on you..."
"But professor, I'm curious...what is the effect of the Sunlight Charm? Is it an enhanced version of the Illumination Charm?"
"That's a new spell," said Lockhart, laughing. "The Illumination Charm doesn't give off that bright a light."
For a moment...the Gryffindor students were fine, but all the Hufflepuffs looked at Mikel in the middle of the classroom.
They still remember clearly... the explosive light that suddenly appeared in the classroom during their first Charms class two years ago.
If there really is a sunshine spell...it's probably just this.
But Mikel was completely unaware of this... He fainted after reciting the spell and had no idea what happened next.
At the podium, Kyle continued, "Can you show us a demo?"
"Um..." Lockhart was a little speechless: "Next time... This spell is not suitable for use in the classroom..."
"What about this..." Kyle flipped through a few more pages, "You used the levitation spell to condense the seawater and trap the vampire. This should be demonstrable."
Lockhart fell silent again.
But it wasn't over yet. Kyle continued flipping through the book and asked:
"Also, why are vampires not afraid of garlic, but afraid of amulets soaked in garlic juice..."
"Why do you want to travel by ship? Isn't it better to Apparate?"
"Also, how did you manage to make vampires eat only carrots..."
"Is that vampire still alive?"
“If it’s still alive, have you ever considered publishing the method?
After all, solving the problem of their bloodsucking is like solving the problem of werewolves transforming on a full moon night. You will receive the first-class medal of the Order of Merlin!"
"correct……"
Kyle seemed really prepared to ask a hundred questions, and the series of whys made Lockhart feel a lot more confused.
He simply stole this story from an old wizard. The only thing he did was to cast a forgetfulness spell on the other party and made a certain degree of artistic processing to the whole story. How could he possibly know so many details?
Lockhart looked at the increasingly curious eyes of the people around him, and felt panic in his heart. He quickly stopped Kyle from talking incessantly.
"Okay, okay...close the book."
"While I don't mind answering these questions, other students still have to go to class."
"Just think of this as my homework. Think about it yourself. Of course, if you still don't understand it by the end of the school year, I will tell you the answer."
Lockhart cleverly covered up the matter, then found an excuse to send Kyle back, and replaced him with another, seemingly honest little Hufflepuff wizard to perform the play with him.
If Kyle were allowed to stay any longer, who knows what else he might ask. The risk is too great.

Chapter 279 Thank you
"Did you do this on purpose..." Kanna asked in a low voice after Kyle returned to his seat.
Kyle spread his hands.
Of course, he did it on purpose. He would be crazy to accompany Lockhart in a play... and he was playing a supporting role.
However, looking at the little wizard on the podium who was jumping up and down with excitement because he was chosen to play a vampire... he should be very happy.
That's fine too.
The bell rang and Lockhart stood up.
"Homework: Write a hymn about my experience converting vampires! The best one will receive several copies of "The Magical Me" signed by me!"
"I'd rather write a three-foot-long paper," Kyle muttered quietly, gathering his things and leaving the classroom.
Kanna nodded as well.
Ever since she met Cedric, her impression of Professor Lockhart had become less favorable.
Add to that the paper in the first thirty minutes of class, and Lockhart's clumsy handling of the photo...
It is conceivable that there will not be any surprises in their next Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
"I kind of miss Professor Oren..." Connor whispered on the way to the auditorium.
"Oren?" Kyle was a little surprised.
"Why don't you go to the school hospital?" He touched Kanna's forehead. "You were almost killed by him in the Forbidden Forest. How dare you still miss him?"
"I've figured it out a long time ago."
Kanna slapped Kyle's hand away and said with a smile, "Oren was looking for you at the time, I was just unlucky and happened to catch up.
If he comes again, I will just stay away from you."
"You're so smart!" Kyle said unhappily, "Have you ever thought about what I would do if Oren came back?"
"I believe you will find a way." Kanna said as a matter of course: "After all, you are the smartest person I have ever met."
"Thank you so much." Kyle curled his lips, "But forget it, I suddenly found that Lockhart is not bad. At least those stage plays are quite good."
The two chatted and laughed all the way to the auditorium.
After a while, Cedric came, wearing a new robe and washing the dirt from his hair.
"How's Lockhart?" Cedric asked. "We have Defense Against the Dark Arts tomorrow morning."
"You have to be prepared." Kanna shook her head. "It's about the same as last year."
When she said this, Cedric understood.
Well, it’s time for another reading lesson.
But Cedric didn't understand, if that was the case, why not let the fat monk be the professor... that way they could save money on books.
Or almost headless Nico... under the influence of the Defense Against the Dark Arts curse, his head might even be completely severed.
This also fulfilled his long-cherished wish.
"By the way, this is for you." Kyle handed a piece of parchment to Cedric.
"What's this."
Cedric was stunned when he saw the contents on the parchment...
What is Lockhart's favorite color?
Why would he want to know this kind of thing?
"This is a class test."
Kyle explained, "I think every grade will have this question during the first class. You can take a look at it in advance. If you get all the answers right, you can get extra points for the college."
"How many……"
"Ten points," Kyle said, "but they will be called out."
"The score is very reasonable and acceptable..."
"He might also pull me into performing in a stage play."
"…but we Hufflepuffs don't lack these points!"
……
I don’t know if it was because of Kyle’s performance in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, but he didn’t see Professor Lockhart even once in the next few days.
And when he attended the class again, his name was not called again.
It was as if Lockhart was avoiding him, but that felt good.
