Chapter 297 The real doomsday

Little Asaiah leaned against the car window, her eyes, bright as pearls, reflecting the rapidly receding sycamore trees on the side of the road. She did not turn her head until the car turned a corner and the director and the orphanage completely disappeared from her sight.

"Are you that little bastard?" a young and playful voice asked sarcastically.

Little Asaiah turned around, and his clear and innocent eyes fell on the two children sitting in the seats opposite him.

The boy who was speaking was about eleven or twelve years old. He was wearing a neat light blue shirt and suspender shorts, and a sapphire blue bow tie around his neck, which was exactly the same color as his neatly combed hair.

His facial features were very delicate, but compared to other boys of his age, his skin was too pale. His beautiful deep blue eyes, like the night sky, with spindle-shaped pupils, were sizing up little Asaiah with full of sarcasm.

The little girl sitting in the safety seat next to him was about three or four years old, with soft black curly hair and chubby cheeks. She was blinking a pair of scarlet eyes without pupils or whites, looking curiously at the boy and then at little Asaiah.

Little Asaiah was not afraid when she saw their unusual eyes, but she did not respond to the boy's words.

“Lucifer, if you continue to be disobedient, get out of the car and walk back by yourself.” Mr. Jin leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes and said in a cold voice.

Lucifer snorted and looked away temporarily, but he obviously didn't give up easily.

The car turned around the block, and the surrounding buildings gradually became low and dilapidated. There was only the quiet breathing of a few people in the car. Lucifer turned his gaze back again.

He leaned close to the girl's ear and said in a low voice that was loud enough for everyone in the back car to hear: "Lilith, you will no longer be the only little girl in the territory. That little bastard will occupy your bedroom and take away your toys. Everything you have will belong to her."

Lucifer's malice almost overflowed from the car window, but Lilith could not understand his intention. Her gem-like scarlet eyes shone slightly, and she asked in a baby voice, "Can I not sleep alone, brother?"

Lucifer laughed very deliberately: "Hahahahaha, Lilith, you are a purebred devil, and you are afraid of sleeping alone? Hahahahahaha, do you want this little bastard to laugh at us?"

"Stop the car." Mr. Jin tapped the center armrest in the back row twice with his index finger. The driver slowly stepped on the brakes and stopped the car on the side of the road.

The orphanage was originally on the edge of the city, but now they had moved away from human settlements and into the vast Gobi Desert.

"Get off the car." Mr. Jin said this without even raising his eyelids.

Lucifer glared at little Asaiah, unbuckled his seat belt, opened the car door and jumped out.

He slammed the car door so hard that Lilith trembled all over.

The vehicle started again, and Lucifer stood alone in the deserted Gobi Desert. The scorching sunlight made the bare and desolate red stone forest in the distance look like a white land.

He looked at the taillights of the cars driving into the heat wave, stepped on a red lizard that happened to be passing by, and crushed it into a meat patty with a "snap".

In the carriage, Little Asaiah and Lilith looked at each other for a moment and asked, "Why did he say you were a pure-blooded demon? What is a little bastard?"

Lilith was only four years old, what did she know?

She called out softly for help: "Dad——"

Mr. Jin finally opened his eyes, his pupils slowly dilated until black filled the entire eye sockets, and his inhuman eyes turned to little Asaiah, reflecting her tiny face.

Mr. Jin said slowly: "We don't like the name demon. We prefer to call ourselves the remnants of the ancient gods."

"And you have half the same blood as us."

The car left the only road in the Gobi Desert and drove towards a group of residual hills eroded by wind and sand in the distance.

Such terrain is difficult to traverse even for professional off-road vehicles, but the car they were riding in rushed into the red rock forest as if it were flat ground.

The vehicle passed through a layer of water film that was invisible to the naked eye, and the scene in front of us suddenly changed.

They were speeding past a lake as flat as a mirror, the surface of the lake shimmering and shining with a faint blue light.

On the other side of the lake, a towering castle stood quietly like a gray stone giant.

Further away are lush mountains and thick pine forests. No matter where this place is, it shouldn't be in the middle of the Gobi Desert.

The car did not drive directly into the castle. Instead, it passed through a group of low stone houses and stopped in front of a temple with towering colonnades.

The driver got out of the car and opened the door for Mr. Jin first, then went around to the other side and opened the doors for little Asaiah and Lilith. Little Asaiah's eyes paused on his dark red crocodile-skin neck.

He wasn't like this just now...

Mr. Jin had already gotten out of the car. The driver unbuckled Lilith's seat belt and motioned for them to get out as well.

Little Asaiah stood in front of the car, looking up at the huge temple in front of her. Suddenly, a soft and warm little hand was put into her palm.

"Sister—" Little Asaiah lowered her head. Lilith was looking at her with her pure blood-red eyes.

Little Asaiah squeezed her hand.

The two little kids, one after another, climbed up the marble steps in front of the temple, which were higher than an adult's knees, and followed Mr. Jin into the deep and spacious temple.

For little Asaiah and Lilith, who were less than six years old, the temple was so huge that it seemed as if the end was out of sight.

On its intersecting domes, beams of warm light poured down, and each beam of light happened to shine on the girl columns standing several meters apart. These columns engraved into the shape of girls were of various shapes and lifelike, and they were gently looking down at the two little girls holding hands.

After walking for what seemed like a very long time, little Asaiah and Lilith finally arrived at the end of the temple, where stood four tall and heroic golden statues, jointly guarding a crystal clear six-winged angel statue in the center that emitted a faint blue light.

The statue had its three pairs of wings half-closed, and its hands were clasped in front of it, holding a golden spear. A drop of dark blue water fell from the tip of the spear into the shallow pool on the ground, creating ripples.

"The people have been brought here." Mr. Jin's cold voice echoed in the deep temple for a long time. Just when little Asaiah and Lilith thought that no one would answer, a hoarse female voice sounded from the darkness.

"There is still one......"

"Cephalus, you should know that the prophecy mentions two people."

"One is destined to suffer and die, while the other will be crowned king."

"Only then will the real doomsday come."
