Chapter 299: Starry Sky Tomb

Lucifer looked on triumphantly as little Asaiah was taken away by servants.

This new sister is much more fun than the timid and cowardly Lilith.

Little Asaiah was locked up in a bedroom in the castle tower. She hadn't eaten or drunk anything for a day since she came out of the orphanage. Little Asaiah curled up on the large, soft bed, and through the window of the tower, she looked out at the lake that was shining with faint blue light in the night and the towering dark shadow of the temple in the distance.

"Sister—" The door was pushed open a crack with a creak. Lilith, who had to stand on tiptoe to reach the door lock, carefully let go of her hand and squeezed in through the crack.

Little Asaiah sat up, watched Lilith close the door, ran to her bedside in small steps, took out a piece of white bread that had been crumpled into a small ball from his slightly bulging pocket, and stretched out his arm to hand it to her.

"Sister, bread--" Compared to children of the same age, Lilith's speech is not particularly clear and she cannot speak too long a sentence at a time.

She looked at little Asaiah expectantly. She had secretly put the bread from the table into her pocket. This sister should be able to eat it.

Little Asaiah took the bread that had been squeezed so hard that its original shape could no longer be seen, and pulled Lilith's little arm to pull her onto the bed.

Lilith burrowed into her arms like a little loach, grabbed the corner of her clothes, and said obediently: "Tomorrow, sister, there is still——"

Compared with having no food, having no water is more unbearable, but Lilith didn't understand this. Little Asaiah could only pinch the bread she brought into small balls the size of a fingernail, bit by bit, and only swallow it whole after kneading it until it was smooth and firm.

By the time she slowly finished eating the white bread, Lilith, who had been running around all day, had fallen asleep clutching the corner of her clothes.

Little Asaiah pulled the quilt up to Lilith's chin and snuggled into the quilt himself.

How big can the bread be that Lilith can hold in her little hands?

Little Asaiah was hungry and thirsty, and he was in a daze, not knowing whether he fell asleep or fainted.

What the two children didn't know was that after little Asaiah fell asleep, the ivy on the outer wall of the tower silently climbed over the window sill, crawled into the quilt at the end of the bed, and the vines entangled the ankles of the sleeping little Asaiah.

Countless blue spots of light flowed along the vines of the ivy into her body and merged into her flesh and blood.

Little Asaiah's slightly wrinkled face slowly relaxed, and he finally sank peacefully into a dream.

Before dawn, the ivy bush retreated silently and reluctantly back to the window.

"hiss--"

"His-"

A strange hissing sound woke little Asaiah from her sleep. She opened her eyes sleepily and saw a two-finger-thick yellow snake with black stripes, with its spear-shaped head erect, coiled less than a fist's distance from her nose.

The forked snake's tongue almost licked her eyeballs.

Little Asaiah's heart sank, and for a moment he was so frightened that he even forgot to breathe.

"Hahahahahaha——" Lucifer's joyful laughter came from the direction of the window, and he jumped lightly and jumped down from the windowsill.

Lucifer walked to the bedside of little Asaiah, lowered his eyelashes, and slowly savored little Asaiah's stiff expression. As he watched, he became a little dissatisfied again.

"Lilith was crying loudly at that time, why didn't you cry?"

Little Asaiah survived the terrible heart palpitations and whispered, "Take it away and I will tell you."

Lucifer became happy again: "You are still afraid!"

"What are you afraid of? Although this pit viper is very poisonous, we are demons. We demons will not die if we are bitten by this poisonous snake. At most, we will feel pain."

"Why? Are you afraid of pain?"

"Oh, I forgot you're different from us. You're not a purebred devil, you're a little bastard. If you get bit, will you die~?"

The servant who heard the noise in the house opened the bedroom door. In his hand was a gold-inlaid enamel tray. On the tray, a crystal bowl of fresh human blood was shaking gently with his movements.

He shuddered visibly when he saw Lucifer in the bedroom. The servant who had chosen the wrong shoes for the young master yesterday was tortured until late at night before being killed. The shrill and desperate screams scared all the servants so much that they couldn't sleep an eye the whole night.

Lucifer saw what he was holding, and sat down on the bed without hesitation, and said with an expression of watching a good show: "How is it? You still don't want to drink today?"

After hearing him ask this, little Asaiah felt something strange. She was neither hungry nor thirsty compared to before she went to bed.

The sound of their talking finally woke Lilith up. She turned over in bed and sat up dazedly. The moment her vision focused, she saw the poisonous snake coiled around little Asaiah.

"Ah————" Lilith's sharp and terrified scream pierced her eardrums. The crystal bowl filled with human blood exploded. The frightened pit viper showed its cold fangs and flew towards Lilith like lightning.

Lucifer's face changed suddenly. Even though they, the demons, would not die if bitten by a poisonous snake, he would be in trouble if his father knew that he had bitten Lilith.

In a flash, little Asaiah reached out his hand almost subconsciously and grabbed the cold and slippery tip of the pit viper's tail.

The pit viper turned around and attacked without hesitation, its fangs piercing into little Asaiah's thin arm.

Everyone was stunned by this sudden change. Lucifer reacted the fastest. He pinched little Asaiah's forearm and pulled his pet off her arm.

Lucifer's vertical pupils shrank to the size of a needle tip. He swung his arm horizontally and slammed the triangular head of the original lancehead viper against the metal bedpost.

The shattered skull and blood of the original lancehead viper covered little Asaiah and Lilith.

Lucifer turned to the servant standing at the door with a sinister look: "Are you dead? Go and call for help!"

The servant then woke up as if from a dream and rushed out the door.

"Sister..." Lilith had a piece of snake meat hanging in her cotton-soft curly hair. She stared blankly at little Asaiah's arm being tightly pinched by Lucifer.

There were two bright red holes on the forearm where the pit viper had bitten it, and the surrounding skin was swollen and purple, like a bun.

At this time, the faint blue light under the skin glowed, the bruises disappeared, and the wounds healed slowly, and it actually returned to its original state by itself.

Lucifer's hand loosened involuntarily, and little Asaiah pulled his arm out of his cold palm.

"What are you doing?" Kloface's tall figure appeared at the door. He glanced at the messy bedroom, and his low voice contained obvious displeasure.

Lucifer pointed at the arm that little Asaiah had hidden under the quilt and said in confusion: "Dad, her wound...healed automatically..."

Kloface's pure black eyes turned towards little Asaiah. He had a vague guess in his mind, and soon he made a decision.

"Take her to the Starry Tomb."
