Chapter 321 Need a safe place
They moved forward cautiously, through the messy campsite, and finally returned to the camping area.
The scene before them made them feel heavy.
Most of the tents had been burned or destroyed, and many people were running around looking for their loved ones. There were also some Aurors everywhere, cleaning up the mess.
The air was still filled with smoke and a burning smell, making it suffocating.
In the crowd, they vaguely saw a familiar man with long platinum hair and hurried steps.
His hair color stood out in the camp.
——Lucius Malfoy.
He was walking quickly through the crowd, his eyes anxiously scanning the surroundings, obviously looking for something.
When he turned his head and saw their figures, he almost rushed over with big strides.
"Sissi!"
As soon as Lucius saw the unconscious Narcissa, he immediately called her name anxiously.
Draco gritted his teeth and looked up at his father, with a look of reproach in his eyes: "Mother just fainted in the chaos, and we have been protecting her the whole time."
Lucius looked at him deeply, took Narcissa without saying a word, held her carefully in his arms, and lowered his head to read her name: "Sissi..."
His movements were extremely gentle, and his eyes were full of worry and heartache.
This scene stunned everyone present.
They had never seen Lucius Malfoy put aside his smooth manner and reserved image when he was out there.
After confirming Narcissa's condition, he raised his head and looked at the three people standing beside him with a complicated look.
"Are you guys... okay?" His expression was somewhat serious, yet his seriousness revealed his concern.
Amanta nodded: "Although there were some minor setbacks, we are all fine."
Harry said seriously: "It's terrible. If we hadn't run fast, and thanks to Amanta...it might have been over."
Lucius nodded slightly, his eyes fell on Cedric, and he said solemnly: "I am very grateful to you for escorting them back just now."
Cedric was a little surprised. He smiled shyly and waved his hand, saying, "You're welcome. It's not my credit. It's all thanks to Amanta and Harry. They reacted very quickly. When I arrived, they were already hiding in a safe place... Otherwise, I might have been too late."
Lucius's gaze lingered on Amanta and Harry for a moment, his expression quite subtle.
Finally, he nodded, his eyes filled with scrutiny: "You did a great job. This is not an easy task."
Amanta lowered her eyes: "This is what we should do."
It seems that this incident has caused Lucius's view of them to change a little bit.
She quietly turned her head and looked at Draco who was standing beside her.
Draco's face was still pale, and his expression did not show the joy of reuniting with his father. Instead, it was full of worry and uneasiness, and he kept his head down.
Amanta retracted her gaze, and her heart sank slightly——
As the Dark Mark burned, Lucius left the tent, leaving them behind...
So, where did he go just now?
Did he join the Death Eaters?
While the people around were still busy, the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic began to take over the scene and investigate the caster of the Dark Mark who had reappeared on the corpse.
Lucius stroked Narcissa's forehead and whispered to Draco, "Take your mother back to the tent to rest. I'll go take care of some things."
Draco nodded and slowly walked towards their tent with Narcissa on his back, followed by Amanta and Harry.
The air was filled with a burning smell and the camp was in a mess. Aurors were moving among the ruins, checking the situation everywhere.
"Well, I should go now," Cedric said, his face looking a little tired, "I need to go find my parents, as well as Neville and Luna, to make sure they're okay."
Amanta, Harry and Draco looked at each other and nodded.
"Thanks, Cedric." Harry said sincerely, "If you hadn't just escorted us back, we might still have to hide outside."
Although Draco was always arrogant, he didn't refute this time: "Thank you, Cedric."
Cedric sighed and waved his hand: "You should be careful too, maybe they haven't left completely yet." After he said that, he looked at Amanta.
"When I rushed over... I saw this scene from afar." He hesitated and whispered, "Is it you? This is incredible. I think... you are the only one who can do this."
Amanta just smiled: "Yeah."
Cedric didn't ask any more questions: "I have to go first."
He turned and left, disappearing into the night.
The three turned around and walked towards their tent.
The magnificent Malfoy tent had been burned down to ruins.
The villa-style tent that was once beautifully decorated has now become a ruin, with a charred frame in pieces.
After the flames were extinguished, a pungent burnt smell still lingered in the air.
Harry smacked his lips. "That's great. Where else can we live?"
Draco frowned and sighed loudly, clearly in a bad mood.
"These Death Eaters... no, these lunatics, actually destroyed our tent."
Amanta looked at the ruins in front of her with a confused look on her face.
"The question is, what are we going to do with Narcissa now?" she whispered.
The three of them were silent for a moment.
Narcissa was still unconscious, her face pale, and even in a coma, she was frowning, as if she had not yet recovered from the shock.
The campground was pretty much destroyed, and most people were just cleaning up the mess.
There were very few surviving tents, and even if they were willing to stay there, there would probably be no place for them to rest.
"We can't spend the night in the ruins." Harry frowned, "Even if we can survive the night, what about Lady Narcissa?"
Draco pursed his lips, obviously aware of the problem.
He looked around, his tone somewhat unwilling: "Damn, where can we go now? Do we have to ask Weasley to borrow a place?"
Harry rolled his eyes. "Don't dream. They may not even have their own tents."
"Where else can we go..." Draco frowned.
Just then, a familiar voice sounded behind them.
"It looks like you guys are in a little trouble."
The three of them turned around suddenly and saw Julius Hoffmann standing not far away, watching them quietly.
After the chaos, he seemed unaffected.
His hair was not at all messy, his dark eyes were as deep as the night, the corners of his mouth had a smile on their faces, and his grey suit shone with a metallic luster under the moonlight.
He walked closer at a leisurely pace: "Your tent is destroyed. Looks like you have nowhere to go tonight?"
"What's it to you?" Draco stared at him subconsciously with vigilance.
Julius was not angry, but smiled: "Don't be nervous, I just want to provide a little help."
His eyes fell on the still unconscious Narcissa and he raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Her condition is not good. You need a safe place for her to rest. And I just happen to have... an intact tent."
When the three of them heard this, they were all stunned.
"Your tent? It wasn't burned?" Harry opened his mouth wide, obviously in doubt.
Julius chuckled and said calmly, "My tent has multiple layers of protection spells, and the Death Eaters' fire couldn't burn it."
Amanta narrowed her eyes and became alert.
How could his tent be the only one that remained unscathed in the fire and chaos?
Julius's words were too light. Was the protective spell he had set up on his tent really that strong, or... had he known about the attack all along?
Amanta immediately thought of the warning Julius had given her when she met him in the afternoon.
She studied Julius's expression.
Everything was still calm and there was no sign of anything unusual.
